Before I start, I am Indian but I don't expect the food to taste like authentic Indian food. But I do expect the food to be generally good, regardless. I ordered lamb kebabs (Boti Kebab), Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan and Daal.
The Lamb Kebab was so dry and over cooked, it was hard to cut or chew. I barely finished one piece. More over, I asked for the food to be spicy and instead, what I got was mouth burning, tasteless, doused in God knows what spicy seasoning chunks of over cooked meat. Similarly, the Daal was so hot that it was hard to eat. Correctly prepared 'Spicy' Indian food is hot but not unbearable, and it is still full of flavor. My guest asked for chillies on the side and he said it was a $1.50 charge. I don't understand how this place is still in business.
Despite that I gave the cashier my credit card to pay for the entire table, and that my reservation is under my name, the server and the cashier took my friends credit card and basically double charged us, my credit card and his credit card. It took us unnecessary 10 minutes direct if I the double charge. I am upset in the first place that I insisted and explicitly asked them to use my credit card for the entire table, but they went behind my back
You can actually hear your dinner companions speaking at normal volume. Oh — and the food is delicious. That combination is hard to find in Boston, even on a Monday night. I think it's impossible on weekends.
Excellent as always
Not very authentic; flavorless
Terrible experience.. food was aweful. Totally waste of money for me I guess.
Came here 14 years ago and it was great then it was even better now the food was tip top and I eat Indian food a lot coming from Birmingham UK all in all a great Indian ruby murry for all yow lovely Bostonian folk
Food was fantastic and service was great! Best molé I’ve ever had. I’ve been recommending it to all my friends. Can’t wait to come back next year.
The restaurant that it once was is no longer.
Great food!!! Great service!!!
Service was really bad. Restroom where not at all clean.
Lovely, most accommodating servers with a patient, kind demeanor. They gave us advise about the dishes to order and guided us in the level of spice. Great food, beautifully presented in copper dishes. Easy to share.
The cocktails were also lovely and very Indian in there flavors.
Will be back
Sorry, you're getting a crap review because I didn't eat there. Some jerk routinely uses my email for things like this that he doesn't want to use his own email for. I hate him, I wish you poisoned him.
Kashmir has great food in a no frills atmosphere right on Newbury Street. Service can be a bit slow, but not terrible. I have a gluten allergy and I was a little uncertain if the waiter understood the issue, but I've eaten here a few times and never had a problem. Lastly, the spice level is not clear to me either. I ordered medium the first time just to be safe and it was not spicy at all. I ordered hot the next time and the food was inedible because it was so spicy (there is an extra hot level so I can't imagine how hot that must be!). The order patio is nice in the summer. Definitely recommend if you like Indian food!
Wonderful authentic food! Friendly staff. The service was attentive and well timed. All 5 dishes were flavorful but not too overly spiced. The Lamb Curry was just the right portion. Cold shrimp with cucumber and yogurt appetizer was my favorite. Surprisingly affordable!
I will never be back there. Wost food I ever ate. I ordered the mixed grill tandoor , with extra sauté onions, no rice, dal as a side with buttered chapati . My beverage was a margaraita with vodka and dry vermouth with wedge of lime....
My Coctail came , I asked for my lime , slices of lime on a plate came out to me ..
My cocktail did not taste of any alcohol , only a sugary pink drink a child could enjoy.
Next my food came out .. first came the rice ? Then the dal and really greasy chapati ..
My mixed grill came , what a disappointment . I got a chicken thigh , 2 big chunks of chicken Brest , 2 big chunks of lamb , and a king Prawn , sitting on bits of lettuce with a few raw onions . I asked the server for sauté onions . He came back with a plate of raw onions to me .. anyhow The chicken thigh in places near the bone was undercooked, the chicken breast was so dry and tough , the prawn was rubbery and over cooked and the lamb was like 2 old boots , so tough .. the plate of food was inedible ..
I told the waiter I could not eat the food .. I paid for my sugary drink the dal which was nice but cold .. I was so hungry , angry and annoyed by the experience . The server did not charge me for the mixed grill . I left expecting somebody to say I’m really sorry , but heads were lowered as I passed by the hosts reception area . I couldn’t wait to go to eataly and pick up something sweet to take away the taste of Kashmiri , the understanding of my order was poor , the quality of food , beverage not even worth rating and the aftercare of my experience was unprofessional and poorly handled .. despite all my server seemed like a pleasant man so I gave him a 2 dollar tip . I work for a well known company and already have told at least 20 people of my poor experience and warned them never to venture there ... and I love my Indian food , it’s my favorite over any food .. however that was not any kind of food that was placed before me ..new chef , new barman needed ASAP !
Food was outstanding. Service was great! Will definitely be coming back!!
Some of the best Indian food in Boston!
Tasty food and generous portions. Service was slow but once they got to us was good.
From beginning to end, everything was enjoyable, with good service, and delicious food. The quality was excellent and when they say spicy, be prepared for your mouth to go numb! Highly recommend and plan to return soon.
It was an efficient and pleasant experience
Great tasty food , well priced and quick service , would recomend a visit.
Nothing to write home about, but pretty solid food in a great location. Am happy with my experience and will dine here again.
Spicy night out - great service and generous portions - enjoy
I have lived in and around Boston for over 20 years and the food at Kashmir is always consistently delicious. I crave it and have not found Indian as good in the suburbs.
Food was not bursting with flavour like I’d expect to for an Indian restaurant, because I think the chicken either has not been marinated enough or what. Service was not a problem, though the server failed to mention how much we should order, which lead to us ordering too muxj
Bathroom was dirty.
Floors were dirty
This was a restaurant choice made because our friends are vegetarian. The vegetarian dishes were fine but the chicken tikka was not. The person who ordered it and ate it did not complain about it, but I could tell from looking at it that it was not very good. The garlic naan was very good.
Good service, noisy once students arrived. Food ranged from just ok to poorly prepared. Chicken in biryani was dry and stringy; nuts and raisins in dishes that listed them were barely there.
Dinner was excellent and the service was great. Love the place.
Food was fantastic so glad we found this place. The chicken korma was delicious. We had three new to Indian food people with us and they loved it as well.
they are very unorganized! doesn’t matter what time you reserve your table, you have to wait 15-20 min, the server keep forgetting us, you ask for something they easily don’t bring it to you until you remind them! it happened 3 times to us, very frustrating! it was a Friday night, so it was super busy, and too noisy, the rice was cold! the water jar looks dirty and they just ignoring people! no respect for their guests! never go there again!!
Great indian flavors. Good alternative to the typical restaurants. Menu has something for everyone.
A very nice place with good Indian Cuisine. I recommend this place as it is walking distance from Copley Place Mall and Prudential Center. Worth having to experience a great dinner!!
The food at Kashmir was really good however I had a bad experience in that the Waiter altered their receipt/final bill
Good enough to go back.
Always a great meal! Love Kashmir. Been eating here for 20 yrs. never disappoints.
Fabulous food and service.
