We have come to this restaurant for years and until now, never disappointed. Everything was poor. It was not clean, utensils were old and broken and taped. The wait staff was untrained and unprofessional and the food was the poorest quality we have ever had there. Surely this restaurant must have been sold or otherwise changed management as it was opposite of any previous experience we have had at Kashmir...POOR.
Staple on Newbury Street -- very good food, but a little pricey for what you get. Great service, great for delicious quick dinner before concert at symphony hall or Berklee.
Tasty food. Lights are sort of bright. No Indian beer. Server suggestions were fabulous. We will definitely go back. Nice place to stroll afterward.
Traditional Indian food, comfortable tables, convenient spot on Newbury Street.
Good dinner and great experience!!
Friendly service and delicious Indian food in a quiet setting, convenient to the convention center downtown.
Group dinner planned for 12 but only 7 came - restaurant was very accommodating. Waiter did not understand us very well, requests needed to be repeated at least twice. Food was delicious.
The food was delicious, and the restaurant was very empty on a Wednesday night so it was blissfully QUIET, that rarest of qualities in a good restaurant. We'll be back.
Very pleasant and accommodating waiter.
The food and staff weren’t great. I wouldn’t recommend.
The food was quite good. Most moist chicken tandoori I remember ever having. Nothing we had was unusual in a "foodie" way -- seemed quite traditional -- but it all was very good and the seasonings all fit together nicely. Service was good. The two times I have gone it has not been crowded which probably contributed to being able to enjoy conversation. I am 71, so ambient noise significantly affects my ability to hear clearly. I would be quite happy going back again.
Food was great but the service was just horrible, waiter never came to ask about our food and every time I asked for something he seemed annoyed as if I was asking a favor. It took 10 mins for him to bring me a glass of wine and didn’t bother opening the can of coke for my friend until she had to ask. They need more training and host should be more warm and welcoming and they seemed just over everything.. I used to love this restaurant but I’m not sure if I’ll be back.
Food was good, service was very good.
It was a lovely evening. I think the one napkin caught fire from the candle but was doused quickly. Wait staff brought more napkins to try to table afterwards. Fun date.
Very lousy food. This placed used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in Boston. It seems like they had a change of chef.
Everything at Kashmir was as it always is, a dining adventure. Spicy stuff spicy not spicy stuff just delicious.
We had a credit card problem which I hope ends up ok.
Our early dinner was very enjoyable typical Indian food. Service was excellent. The wine list is not notable. The restrooms are terrible and tiny.
The restaurant came very highly recommended, and did not live up to our expectations. But it is a good spot for an intimate dinner while shopping in the area.
The chicken tikka masala, the rice as well as the naan are quite good, although the mixed vegetable curry is not quite what we expected: it is not the usual yellow form that we commonly see.
Delicious food - one of my favorites in Boston. The tandoori stuff is great, though I'm also a huge fan of the range of vegetarian options. Not to be missed if you like Indian!
Drunk rude couple of girls at next table were entertaining. Staff reminded them politely to stop swearing loudly due to nearby children
Although the location is excellent, the food and service were just okay. One of our drinks needed to be returned because the glass was very dirty. Further, the men's bathroom was absolutely disgusting and it was early in the evening- 6:30.
The botikabab and chicken tikka were stale and dry. Not appetizing at all. The aloo HBO was decent. Complained to waiter. Manager did not bother to talk to us and explain.
Consistently excellent good, great service, and good value. Can be noisy and busy but always fun
A lovely place, have been there in the past for lunch, but at dinner, they seem to get overwhelmed. They lose the smile and seem rushed.
Delicious food, great service, and a quiet, pretty atmosphere. We sat outside and had a lovely time.
Great Indian food and superb value for money. Comfortable dining space .
Just an awful experience. Picked this place because of the reviews. Slow service, food was cold when it came out and one meal arrived 10 mins after the others. Service was terrible and the only explanation was “we are busy” - if you can’t handle a full restaurant then you shouldn’t have this many tables and do delivery. Don’t ever come here!!
Service was a bit non existent but the original server was good. Food was authentic and tasty
Loved the restaurant- service was great, food was delicious, not the best Indian I've ever had but definitely not the worst. My only complaint is the outdoor seating area is home to a flock of birds that were so unnerving we had to move inside.
We were meeting a friend from out of town for dinner and decided to go to Indian. We felt a little rushed when we first sat down since we were planning on having a relaxing dinner and catching up. The drinks were good and the food was good. With many other options in Boston, we will not be back before trying other places.
Food and service are great. We sat outside and the birds were everywhere and they make no attempt to get them off the patio. Gross
Excellent service - great food - excellent value!!!
Second visit back to Kashmir before attending Red Sox game. Now 16 y/o insisted on returning, and we were not disappointed. Food portions are adequate, and they will bring more rice if you want more. Almost forgot our Nan"bread", but after a quick check it came out directly from the kitchen piping hot. Excellent experience with Indian food here both times.
Food good - service slow - authentic
Our group consisted of Indian-food lovers and some new to the cuisine. Everyone found excellent options, and the newbies are now Indian-food lovers too! Excellent, authentic, unpretentious food with friendly staff and indoor/outdoor dining -- perfect.
Good, solid Indian food at a reasonable price. The meat samosas are some of the best I've ever had. The Biryani was good as well. Be sure you order it hot if you like spice.
Food was good, i liked it, but not the service. This will be a delivery place going forward, not a sit down place anymore.
It was good when I had been there last time but I didn't like it much this time.
Everything was good overall with the exception of having to send the lamb curry back for spicing. "Medium-to-hot" came out as "spiceless and bland". When the dish was returned to me it was spot-on and zesty. The waiter seemed astounded that I wanted a curry that tasted like an Indian curry.
