Great sushi; impeccable service; very safe distancing by staff who always wear masks. My favorite!
Rude servers and ordinary food. Too dark even for a restaurant. Especially at our table.
Very cold, could not enjoy my food.
Rolls are very good here, also had a Tuna Poke that was excellent.
Excellent Japanese food, lovely ambience. Prices are reasonable, and the service is always pleasant.
Ate outside on the sidewalk. Delicious chef choices for nigiri and sushi. The tuna appetizer and tempura were great as well.
Service was slow . We didnt see a busser ever so dirty plates sat til our sushi came. We used to go to the one on Ontario for years and this one in its original location. We haven't been here for over a year and unfortunately there was nothing about our night that would make me not want to give another place a try instead. O made the reservation a week out for my son's birthday there was no mention of that. Th ere nvyhey put us in the very back of the resturant . Just very disappointing all around.
Would probably not go back u couldn’t eat the food
Food was delicious
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Chicago. A gem of Old Town.
It was a good time, I cannot remember the waitress name, maybe Marissa, but she was great. The food was good, we had fun!
Fantastic! Always is. Family owned business that knows how to take care of their customers.
The food was amazing! Must get the spicy edamame and miso soup. The sushi is super fresh and tasty!
The food was great and the ambiance was just right for a catch up with my friend!
Our server Mishi was amazing!!!! We sat outside and when it started to rain, they covered us with an umbrella. The food as always was phenomenal and the service was top notch.
Everything was great. From the outstanding service to the delicious food. I would definitely recommend this Japanese restaurant to everyone. I am now considering having my birthday celebration here.
The waitress was so friendly and took amazing care of us! Social distancing was in effect and they made sure to take all precautions when serving us.
We sat on Wells Street so the neighborhood experience was nice. Lots of good people watching and plenty of fun dogs out for walks. The service was OK, and our server was especially nice in letting us take our time in ordering. That was appreciated. The Mai Tai's we had were - ugh - not good unless you enjoy strong pours of grenadine - we don't. The meal itself was fine. It's a fine neighborhood place, we will be back, and will be smarter on our drink orders.
Delicious and fresh with a nice spot outdoors - plus the rolls were presented beautifully.
Aurora was exceptional!
Bug in our food. Manager wasn’t even nice about. The waitress was horrified
Rich was our server and he was awesome! He was on point with service and menu knowledge. You must get the spicy calamari as an app! It’s kind of like bang bang shrimp but with calamari.
We had been waiting for them to open back up to dine-in. Food is still great, and we are happy to be able to eat here again.
We always love this place. Come every 2 weeks. Won’t be seeing you for a while. Good luck.
Amazing food and incredible service. 😀
Excellent service, delicious food w gorgeous presentation, and some really cool cocktails. Also, the server realized it was my wife's birthday and surprised her with a lovely dessert. We had a lovely evening.
This is a gem restaurant in Old Town. Great, very diverse menu, excellent service. I have been coming here for many years, and has never disappointed. If you look for Japanese cuisine in Chicago, this is the place. Prices are reasonable, and the rooms are quiet, good for conversations.
The food was amazing and they have the best chimichirri I've ever had! I highly recommend them to anyone!
Smelled so bad
This place is notoriously slow with service even when there is hardly anyone in the restaurant.
If this was not the only decent sushi in my area I would not go there.
Their prices are also high.
We were a party of 5 and were happy to be seated in the back of the restaurant, where it was quieter. This was not our first visit to Kamehachi, but it had certainly been at least a year for all of us. But Kamehachi did not disappoint! We tried some new sushi delicacies and were impressed by both the quality and inventiveness. It's a friendly place with very good service -- especially considering how busy it was on a Friday night. Recommend Kamehachi without hesitation!
Was super quick service and delicious food!
Kamahachi is a local favorite for Japanese food. It has an extensive menu, the food is always fresh, and the service is impeccable. It is a nicely appointed space, suitable for quiet conversation. I have been there many times over the years, and the quality and experience has been consistently excellent. It is also affordable.
Food was good!! Service was good! I would definitely go back!
We started off with the Gyoza, then we had the Kamasu Ichiyaboshi and Kanpachi. For entrees Laura had the Kamehachi salad, and I had the Yaki Udon. All were excellent, and served in a timely manner.
The last time we went we had the omakase, or at least their version of it and the sushi wasn’t bad! This time we had the normal menu items and the hamachi carpaccio was tough and cut too thick, the Rock shrimp was not crisp and the shrimp was tiny, and the Spicy Tuna Deluxe Deluxe was like eating a roll made out of baby food! I’m just hoping Monday night is just not the night to go to Kamehachi on Wells! You can do better!
Beautiful restaurant, very good service. Food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
