Kamasutra Indian Restaurant and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
A great find. Authentic, well prepared and presented Indian food. Spicy enough. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Service times were good. Especially enjoyed the Mango Lassi drink. I am sure anyone enjoying Indian food would not be disappointed and could dine here in confidence.
Service and food were great. Went for winterlicious. Apps and main were awesome and authentic. Dessert was poor pre bought and not authentic to the meal. Cheesecake was frozen in the centre still.
Would have enjoyed an option of the deserts off the menu which were authentic Indian.
Kamasutra is a favourite restaurant of ours in the Bayview Ave. area. Nice ambiance, attentive service, delicious flavours. We usually go for the Lovers' Thali for two (great selection to choose from), but tried the Winterliscious menu this time - terrific! Also great options. Food was flavourful, but could have been spicier for our taste (but maybe our selections didn't call for spicy?)
Overall a good experience, the service was fast and friendly. There are lots of dishes to choose from, both meat and vegetarian options are quite good, excellent Indian flavors.
Suitable to all taste from mild and spicy. Best to have some idea of what you like and the level of spiciness you can tolerate, the menu can be overwhelming to a first timer. Great place to share and try new dishes. Really enjoyed it!
Local Indian restaurant has been around now for about 4 or 5 years. Very nice place in Leaside/North Toronto. Ambience is very nice and comfortable. Service was good. Food was delicious and not too spicy, for this old white guy. Try the garlic na'an along with Cheetah beer and any entree (chicken, lamb, veggies, etc.) You and your date will be most satisfied. Nice experience!
Kamasutra used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in the city. My last visit was a disappointment. The staff made us feel as if we were an inconvenience. I booked through open table for a 9:30 pm. The restaurant accepts reservations until 10:00 pm on Open table. The food is still good, however, the service was rushed and unwelcoming. Prices have also in creased and based on the service we experienced, I would say the restaurant is now overpriced. I am certain there are better Indian restaurants close by if you are looking for Indian food without the attitude!
Sadly, when we showed up we were informed that the restaurant was closed! This is despite getting confirmation of the reservations - twice! The restaurant neither called nor emailed me to tell me they would be closed.
They offered us no help in finding another venue (we were celebrating my parents' 86th birthdays) or invite us back at a later date.
We have, till now, been regular clients at the restaurant. After this horrible experience -????
I have been there numerous times - the food is always amazing and service excellent too. I do find it odd that you have to order rice separately from the main dishes. A small bowl of plain rice should be standard with each meal and then if you want to upgrade to a curry rice, for example, you can pay extra.
Kamasutra consistently offers good food and is a favourite neighbourhood place. The Tandoori cauliflower if delicious. Tbe restaurant serves a good selection of Indian cuisine, including many tasty vegetable dishes. On our recent visit, service was uncharacteristically poor. We got lost between servers. Other tables came and went while we waited for our second appetizers after which there was a long gap before the rest of the meal arrived - and then only after composing to the manager and server. Disappointing.
Was our 4 year anniversary, very quick service from the host stand to the table. Excellent service from all servers, a lot of teamwork involved between all of them. Ambiance was great for a romantic dinner/ evening. Price was acceptable but could include the rice and naan bread with the signature dishes for sure. Would definitely go there again and recommend to others.
It was fine, but nothing special. Service was a little bit awkward and forced. 3/4 of the restaurant was empty and yet we were sat directly with 3 other occupied tables. The food was good but not great. The serving sizes were decent. There is much better Indian food in Toronto, but there is worse.
