Kalaheo Steak and Ribs
Would recommend Kalaheo steak and ribs , filet migon,,was the best I ever had, juiciest and fresh,
and thank you for this wonderful wait staff. We will be back.
Sat us right away. Waiter Clyde was great . Owner , Carolyn, greeted and showed us to our table. Food was delicious with generous portions. Steak melted in my mouth(filet mignon). Fish equally well prepared. Vegetables al dented with tasty sauce. Bread pudding desert ok not as good as I make. Plantation ice tea great drink. Go before 6 pm for $5 mai tai or margarita on the rocks. Highly recommend a blast from the past.
The lower level “Saloon” is booked weeks in advance. This is understandable given the fun and outstanding entertainment while you eat. Live bands are talented, engaging and inclusive of all guests. If you want a wonderful night out with good food and great entertainment the friendly owners, Caroline and Ernie, will ensure your visit is a memorable one.
Made a 6pm reservation only. Arrived on time. We were greeted & seated immediately. Happy hour drinks we’re awesome. Had Cesar salads, filet, prime rib, shared dessert & adult beverages for around $100. Service was awesome and we were back on the road to Princeville within an hour. Great place to go if you’re on the south side and craving a great steak dinner.
Dee was & is an outstanding server, food was exceptional especially when you enjoy it with great company! Mahalo
Great food! Highly recommended!
The best restaurant experience in the West! Girl's Night, Mother's Day, date nite...Kalaheo Steakhouse never disappoints--always awwsome!
I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. It used to be great. Now the owners are trying to sell it, and seem to have lost interest in Customer service. While Ernie is friendly and seems to want things to run smoothly, no one else cares.
Recently went to an evening event that was overbooked, and since a featured event was happening in one area, the dining room went to hell.
Over 15 minutes to even see a waiter after a significant wait for a reserved table. Another 15 minutes to be asked for a drink order. Nearly 15 minutes for a drink. Finally, our orders were taken. Then, after about 30 minutes our food arrived, and 2 of 5 were incorrect.
People who came in after us were served, cashed out, and left before we did.
Final straw. Waiter took our bills and credit cards. Long wait after he disappeared with our chip cards.
Then he returned with our FULL CREDIT CARD numbers scrawled in pen on the receipts with the comment that the internet was down. ( during the 15 minutes he was gone, lots of chances to copy our numbers and ccv numbers. !). I tore the numbers off the receipts and scrambled for cash.
Dreadful and embarrassing experience, as I had invited friends.
NEVER going back. Really sad to see a fine business where people cared deteriorate into a money mill.
Our favorite is the clams and/or mushroom appetizer and the ribeye entree.
Rib eye steak was outstanding!
This was a great place for a somewhat quiet family dinner -- for the six of us. The appetizers were delicious and we enjoyed our meal.
Went here on the recommendation of a local. We were very glad we did! The food was excellent (fettuccine Alfredo and ribeye), the complementary bread pudding delicious, and the service outstanding.
We will come back next time on Kauai for sure.
We loved our waiter and since this was our first time since I was a child it was a fabulous experience and both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised. Clyde was above par 5+ stars.
Kalaheo Steak and Ribs is a wonderful little restaurant in southern Kauai. Specialty is local beef which is delicious. Well liked by locals and tourists. Staff is very friendly.
We love the band!!! The apple pie is delicious. Ernie the owner is genuinely a great guy.
Delicious steaks cooked to perfection. Nice portion size. The shrimp Alfredo was also wonderful - very cheesy. Margaritas and mai tais were very tasty! Very attentive waiter staff!
The food and people here are the best. The location is easily found. The steaks and fish are always terrific. The owners and servers are friendly and professional and always welcoming. This place should be on everyone's "go to" list.
We come back every year for the past 10 years to this local steak house in Kaua'i and have never been disappointed. They have great food, great service and the prices are very reasonable. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Live music twice a week!
Yummy food great service from Clyde and all.
We left stuffed and happy!
Loved it!!! Great meal!!! Recommended to all!!! Fresh ingredients, great tasting and decent prices as well!!!
As visitors, we have eaten there a dozen times over as many years. The service is very friendly and relaxed. A party of 4 "older" folk, we knew to ask for a table at the quiet end of the room.
We had two different kinds of steak (but two of us split a filet) and the small order of ribs. We thought the meat was delicious, from the Midwest, not Hawaii.
We were there early, qualifying for happy hour and our mai tais were very good which is often not the case elsewhere.
We will continue to make it a staple on our visits to Kauai.
Twenty minutes from Poipu.
Four of us went for dinner. Two had the petit filet and two had prime rib. Everything arrived as ordered complete with salad, veggie, rice/mash. Great value.
Great local restaurant with good size portions and tasty food. The prime rib was the perfect size.
First time with the great burger!
Great food and friendly, personable service. We will be back!
Prime Rib and Ribs were very good. Service was very good. Not crowded at 5pm
Awesome as always. Food is top notch! Server's are knowledgable & friendly. We'll definitely be back 💜
Sweet neighborhood spot for great steaks and ribs. We enjoyed the low key vibe with local families in a homey atmosphere. Calimari appetizer was great. Leave the poke. Meat lovers will be very happy.
Nothing was mentioned about my birthday/anniversary. The male waiters need to smile more and check time to time how people are doing instead of me looking at whomever comes from the back and keep asking them for stuff. The previous time I was there Dee the waitress was on point. This last time with the male servers... hmmmm.
Outstanding food and service. House Ahi special was amazing. Good portion sizes and nice variety. We will definitely be back.
Good food, pretty reasonable prices considering the location. Good value especially at happy hour. A LOT of food. Couldn't finish it all.
After days of eating great seafood on Kauai, it was great to switch it up and have some BEEF! These are not the super-thick steaks you find at prime steakhouses but the ribeye was cooked just right and extremely flavorful (they dust it with brown sugar and chili flake). Other winners at our table included the chicken piccata, the meatloaf, and the prime rib stirfry.
Always a great meal and the owners are amazing. There is a band 3 nights a week and its always great music
Excellent food and service, as usual. A couple of quibbles--we asked for rare and medium rare for two of our steaks and the degree of doneness was more than expected. Also, while the menu said that there would be complimentary bread pudding for dessert if we ordered before 6pm, which we did, we were not offered the bread pudding, which we could not have eaten anyway, but the offer would have been appreciated and in keeping with the menu. Finally, with all the grain fed beef on Kauai, why does KSR use Colorado beef?
KSR is by far our favorite restaurant on the island! The meals are so delicious, the cocktails are wonderful, the service is great and Ernie ALWAYS is Aloha! He makes you feel like ohana🤙🏽 Love it!
Everything was delightful, we highly recommend this place!
They were out of prime rib at 6:30pm. The kitchen was backed up & they are literally only busy from 6-8pm! The place was empty by 8 but it took over an hour to get our food! Off the beaten path - don’t bother!
Prime rib was excellent, Filet could be a slight bit rarer but not way off. Limited but reasonable wine list.
We learned about Kalaheo Steak and Ribs by checking online as we are visitors from Hilo. The building looked very rustic but not unlike the buildings in my hometown of Lahaina. The decor was rustic and definitely country and Western in flavor. We started off the meal with mushrooms that were good. I had the rib eye steak which was cooked very perfectly and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes and the steamed beans were a perfect complement. We shared the brownie with ice cream which was lovely and perfect to share.
Service was very good and the waiters were very attentive.
