Potato, seasonal mushrooms, broccoli rabe
Taro, red miso, mustard, sanshou
Daikon, ponzu, scallion
However, the dining room was so loud I couldn't hear the descriptions of the dishes, and I felt like I couldn't give the food the attention it deserved.
The server was so nice and food was spectacular. Definitely going back again.
A most transcendent evening. The red miso sweet potato soup was unbelievable (really all of the courses were simply amazing and built upon the previous course). Such a lovely low key but elegant dining room for simply the best meal I've ever had.
I don't normally leave reviews, but I had a great time at Kajitsu. The food and service was lovely. Would definitely return.
An excellent Japanese vegan meal to celebrate a birthday (or another special occasion). Delicious food elegantly presented.
Overall fantastic. Amazing ambiance and environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. The omakase was lovely.
We had the set meal with the set of saki. It’s expensive but the food is amazing. Japanese food on another level!!
One of the most incredible meals I have ever had... from start to finish the service was impeccable and the food was on another level.
So much care and consideration
Excellent food and experience overall. Real food prepared and served in a creative, delicious way. We would come back.
Really incredible meal. Truly a study in how vegetables can be luxurious if honestly prepared with thoughtfulness and care.
It was lovely everything is worth. Delicious and service is amazing.
This Japanese restaurant with its seasonally inspired multicourse menu continues to inspire! The stars of the May menu are asparagus and spring onions and the results are magical.
Amazing vegan spot. Every dish was an artwork. Highly recommend.
Kaiseki is more than food, it is an experience. However, although the plates were served beautifully, almost every single plate was based on bamboo, as though this was the only vegetable in season. In addition, the chef was almost exclusively dedicated to a Japanese couple, who were the only other customers seated at the bar. In general, the taste was bland. We ordered premium sake pairing and this was the hi-light of the meal. However, two plates came unaccompanied.
The price was on par with other Kaiseki meals that are much more substantial in variety and service. The value of the experience was very low.
Absolutely a treat! Everything was wonderful! Can't wait to go back.
Unique in NYC if not in north america, Sublime, elegant, austere, incomparable in quality,
久しぶりのKajitsu 、全く期待通りの いやそれ以上の美味しさでした。
The food is clean and fresh, and all Staff is very kind.
and it is a great food menu for gourmets who do not enjoy meat. and I hope you enjoy the monthly OMAKASE which is prepared differently every month. I look forward to another OMAKASE next month.
This is one of my favorite restaurant! Dining here makes me so happy!
Outstanding attention to flavors, detail, presentation and service
Going to Kajitsu is a treat. The food was prepared with the best quality of ingredients and care. The service is top notch I can’t wait to go again.
This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in the United States, and the best place in New York City to get a vegetarian meal. Everything is perfect, from the taste of the food to its presentation to the service, both solicitous and unobtrusive. It's not cheap but it's good value -- you will leave feeling completely nourished in every way.
Very beautiful and thoughtful dining experience. It did take 3 hours, so be prepared.
Excellent experience, unique dishes, wonderful staff.
Amazing culinary experience!
I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the best food I have ever eaten in my entire life. I will never forget this meal.
Omakase course was an excellent, very authentic Japanese chakaiseki. Not just the dishes but also the delicate service and ambiance gave us a special experience where we felt like we were back to Japan. The quality is such a highly sophisticated level that we wouldn’t easily find this kind of restaurant even in Japan. Absolutely worth more than the price, for such an experience in NYC, especially when it is not easy to travel.
Amazing food and excellent service. I think ambience would benefit from some quite music
The food was amazing. The restaurant doesn't play music just like any traditional Japanese restaurant. It has such an intimate vibe. They change their menu every month. Our server recommended April, June & October as the best months. I will definitely come back here!!!
Kajitsu is a gem of a restaurant. There is such care in each dish and there are so many! I love how a dinner is easily 2.5 hrs of fine dining as part of a joyful time with whomever you're with within an elegant environment. This is the one and only restautant I wil pay premium dollar for because it is worth every cent. I pray that it stays prosperous even in the time of COVID and i will definitely be back.
I love this restaurant! The food is delicious and the ambiance great! I will definitely go back.
Food was incredible. Dessert courses were absolutely disappointing.
We had an absolutely spectacular time at Kajitsu. We particularly appreciated the autumnal themes. For example, one dish in particular was plated with an arrangement of colorful fall foliage. This put an involuntary smile on my face that did not fade for quite some time. The flavors were largely subtle, but delicious. All in all, we had a most memorable evening at Kajitsu.
I have never experienced anything like that. SO good!
Excellent food and services in the safe and clean indoor environments.
It was a good experience
Loved every minute of this restaurant. The food was like artwork, highly delicious and celebratory of every single ingredient that was inside each meal. Such meticulous care thought was put into it.
Exceptional vegetarian omikase meal. Was interested to see if it could be done and it was. Very well. Recommend it highly for the experience and the food. Be forewarned on expense. At least $400 for two. So, again, you do it for the experience, not everyday dining. Service was very good w explanations on all the courses and sake samplings. Dining room small and austere w a ‘Japanese design vibe.’ That part could use some work but was still additive not distractive to the experience. Thumbs-up
Food was terrible. Very bland and some courses were off putting and inedible. Not worth the $510 we spent for 2 people.
