Kaiser Grille - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
Booked online, was asked for any special request, asked for small bouquet of flowers got nothing, heard them talking about at the front desk, very bright not even romantic, while seated we over heard the waiter telling the table next to use that they did not leave a big enough tip and ask for more money, food was okay but not worth the price we paid, will never recommend this place or return not a good experience
We went there for Valentine’s Day because I had a gift card from a friend. Probably the main reason why we picked that restaurant honestly. The food was excellent I had fish and that my husband had prime rib. We really enjoyed our meal. Ruth was our waitress and she was excellent. I must say that my friend noticed on the special menu that it said no gift cards and I was really shocked by that. I didn’t notice this special little blurb on the menu in regards to that policy and nothing was ever said when making reservations. Ruth checked it out and said because ours were purchased in the restaurant and not at Costco that they would honor them. Which was really great but I still don’t think it’s a good policy because they Shouldn’t sell their gift cards at Costco if they aren’t allowing people to use them anytime in the restaurant. Just saying.
We do enjoy dining here because of the food. BUT, OMG, some of the patrons look like they came in from rock climbing or straight from the pool. The sister restaurant in Palm Desert at least seems to have a semblance of a dress code. I am not suggesting formal wear, but I really don't want to see someone's pants falling off (and lack of underwear). DO NOT GO to this restaurant on Thursdays, it's a real zoo. Parking is impossible and the noise level will give you a profound headache.
First time here as vacationers & last night of the vacation & so glad we got a great meal & very good staff! Everyone from the hostess to the servers & our waiter were great & very attentive. The food was excellent. Had the Lamb that fell off the bone & basically melted in your mouth. Delicious! The other meal was the chicken & it was cooked perfectly. The portions on both meals & appetizers were just the right size! There is plenty of variety on the menu too!
I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
While the food was very good, the service was dismal. It was a quiet evening and the restaurant was almost empty, yet we were totally ignored. However, I have to say the staff, when approached, was friendly and the manager very apologetic. It was disappointing the service did not improve even after we brought the lack of service to-the managers attention.
We have been to this restaurant a couple of times in the last 3 months and have been repeatedly disappointed.
The Food is actually really good, but service is horrible.
Our waiter seemed incredibly distracted and out of it.
Took our order and rarely saw him again. Didn't check to see how the food was or if we wanted another cocktail. ( Our order was incorrect, btw)
In addition, we had to ask the person bussing the tables to get our check, As did 2 other tables around us.
Sadly, would not recommend this restaurant.
We always enjoy our time at Kaiser and try to get there a few times a month. Their steak salad is a regular choice of ours and it is always a tasty piece of meat. The restaurant has a great vibe, inside and out. We enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the great Palm Springs weather and watching all the people walk by. It's a great spot for dinner, drinks and people watching. And don't forget the valet parking in the back. The valet is great .... he is a great employee and 100% trustworthy.
We had 8 people in our party and were served during the "Early Bird" hour. We were nervous that we might not make it to our film on time. No worries. We all enjoyed delicious dinners and our servers were prompt and friendly. Very nice restaurant. Thank you, Kaiser Grille.
Awesome experience. Celebrated parents 25th wedding anniversary. Our server, Greg, was very friendly and provided great and efficient service. The team at Kaiser (shoutout to hostess Danielle and manager on duty) made my parents feel very special. The complementary dessert was the cherry on top. Chocolate lava was absolutely delicious. Thank you to Kaiser for a great experience!
A year ago we brought our small wedding party here for dinner. Well, a year later, for our wedding anniversary dinner we decided to come back to celebrate; this time just us two. As always, the service from being greeted, seated, water and bread brought to table, and table server (thanks Jonathan!) - top notch! The food was fantastic and the outdoor seating always brings people watching. We love it here. Always an enjoyable experience. Thanks Kaiser Grille for making us feel sooo special on our first wedding anniversary.
A pleasant surprise.
Very convenient to book with Open Table.
Great spacious patio overlooking Palm Canyon Dr.--people watching++
Classy ambience, well decorated, but not noisy or congested.
Excellent attentive service .
Good warm foccacia bread.
Velvety & delicious squash soup-generous serving.Best in ages.
Tasty fresh salad w beets and appy tomato ravioli.
Will return anytime.
I’m a local and first time visiting. The young woman that seated us was obviously not happy to be working New Year’s Eve. The waiter was prompt and pleasant but the table service was slow and very unprofessional for a high end steak house. Example, appetizers and salad brought at the same time. Main dish arrives by food runner with both hands full yet empty salad plates still in front of us. No option but to clear them ourselves. I have no problem helping out but when you’re paying $40 for a steak or piece of fish you would think you wouldn’t need too. Food was strictly fair with the crab cakes so fishy they were not edible. Will not be back.
Went there for our 40th weddeing anniversary on New Years Eve. Seating outside was awesome (remember this is Palm Springs).I had Pecan Crusted Mahi Mahi (excellent) while my wife enjoyed Lamb Chops (also an excellent choice). Enjoyed watching the people on the street as they wandered by. The staff were very effecient and courteous. Highly recommend this place for dinner.
Not up to par with the Palm Desert location. My friend and I dined at the Kaiser Grille a few nights ago and were surprised at how different the service and the quality of food were compared with the Palm Desert location. It took about 30 minutes for the waiter to come to the table (after I went back to the hostess to ask which of the waiters circling our table was ours) and the food was off at our table, as well as the table next to ours. The good news was that we ended up with a glass of sparking wine at the end of our meal for our wait.
My husband and I went to Kaiser Grill last year and loved it so we decided to go again this year. It was great food and a awesome experience but the service wasn't as good as last year. Our server was okay but not as attentive as we felt he should have been. In fact, I was talking to him about something and he actually walked away to address another table. He said he would be right back but didn't return. I didn't find the service as great as it had been the year previously and was bummed when we were done with dinner. I don't know if we would visit again and this is a great restaurant for food and people watching!
Something to think about: When you find a server is apologizing multiple times, not just to your table, it is time to change your service habits.
