Kaiser Grille Palm Desert Ratings and Reviews
We had a 10% off entrees coupon from our resort which made Kaiser more affordable in our minds. The Caesar salad was OK that we split, but nothing special. My husband had the hanger steak and loved it - it was very tender & delicious! I had the crab & shrimp stuffed sole, which I also found delicious & loved it. If we return to this area in the future, we would definitely come back to Kaiser.
Service was superb. Our server was fantastic. The owner stopped by the table twice to make sure everything was fine. Got a call from restuarant the next day asking about our dining experience— first time I’ve had that happen.
Chicken piccata was very good though not best I’ve had but I’d order it again.
One member had rib eye. It was properly prepared, could be cut with a fork, and “melted in your mouth”.
Apple tart with vanilla ice cream was outstanding. Apples were fresh and not overly cooked so had a bit of snap to them. Caramel sauce was light and flavorful.
Noise is a problem. We had a family with small children crying near us and at times we couldn’t hear our own conversation. Think it was room we were in. Bar area has very nice seating and is large so will look at that option next time.
Dinner on New Years night was a huge disaster. Their pre fixe dinner menu was ridiculously overpriced for the food that was served which was either under or over cooked. All in all a poor experience for 6 guests. Very poor service. We noticed a table near us with the same problems. We have been going to this restaurant for years and now my husband has made the decision to boycott based on this experience. This should’ve been a celebration.
We waited 45 minutes for food which was not hot or cooked correctly. Our head waiter was good but the rest of the staff auctioned off plates and reached across the table for us to grab our own plates. The bus person actually placed the tray for clearing dishes on our table.
The bathroom was dirty and in need of service. Overall it was incredibly disappointing.
Had a great time celebrating a friend's birthday. All the staff were very attentive, smiling, and very helpful. Our waiter Dave was exceptional in every way and detail of our dining experience. Dave made the birthday girl feel special that evening. The food was great, presentation and taste. And the nice birthday plate at the end of the meal was the Perfect Touch. Definitely going back.
Ate here on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful time. Meal and service was great and they had a woman playing music and singing, both Christmas tunes and my favorite, Sinatra and Martin classics. Loved it. Will recommend to any of my friends heading to the Palm Springs area.
While this restaurant has a fun vibe and a nice bar scene, the food was NOT that of a good steak restaurant. The caesar salad was romaine out of a bag and the dressing was boring, the steak was lukewarm and improperly cooked initially. All in all, our server was great and the price was good ... but we got what we paid for.
Unfortunately our experience was not good. We arrived 2 hours before our show and let our server know we had a timeline. The food arrived 15 minutes before we had to leave and the fish dishes were inedible. They were still frozen. The other plates were OK but not what you would expect for approximately $40 a plate.
I came here on a date with my husband. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was pretty empty. Maybe only three couples. We ordered a Capri say salad for an appetizer. It was OK. There could've been more pesto and balsamic drizzled on top. The basil used was also a sweet basil, which did not complement the salad. We ordered the ribs and the mahi-mahi. I would not get the mahi-mahi again. It was not flavorful and dry. The ribs were pretty good, fall off the bone and flavorful. The coleslaw served with it was good. The best food item actually was the bread--perfectly baked and with a delicious olive tapenade to spread on top. The waitress was very friendly. We also used yelp to get 10% off our entrees and 7% cash back.
We visit Palm Desert every year for only a week and we always plan a dinner at Kaiser Grille. The food is great on the Early Bird dinner menu - and such a value. Also, on Wednesdays, wine is 1/2 price, by the glass, I believe, and definitely by the bottle. So fun to purchase a wine we’d not otherwise be able to enjoy. We love this place!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We were seated in an area toward the "rear" of the restaurant. There was a group of twenty people including several children seated in the same area that was so loud and obnoxious we could not even hear what our server was saying. In addition some of the children were running around the area and playing loudly. This went on from the time we entered the area for nearly an hour before I complained (see below) A gentleman who we assumed was the manager came into the area several times but did nothing nor did he even speak to us until I walked around to the front desk and complained. They then finally moved us out of the area but dinner was totally ruined. Interesting there was another table of six or eight people in the same area and they were offered drinks etc. by there server because of the miserable situation. Additionally I received a call a couple of days later from the restaurant and I told them how upset we were and the lady who called said that the manager would call me later that day or the next day. Still no call!
The food was good, but only one selection seemed excellent (the pork chop). Everything was expensive, and ala carte, making it worse. One of our group ordered only a salad. One person who ordered chicken alfredo, I think, said it was too peppery. I won't go back.
Four of us had dinner at Kaiser Grille tonight. We contacted them when we made our reservation to see if they could accommodate a special medical dietary issue. They were very accommodating. The day of our reservation they called us to confirm and acknowledged that the reservation was note with regards to the dietary request. Our server was Page tonight. She was already alerted to our special request before we even mentioned it and was wonderfully attentive to us all the entire evening. You can tell that this restaurant is managed and run very well. Both the food and the service were great!
