Kaiser Grille Palm Desert Ratings and Reviews
Was very rushed. Appetizers came out quickly and our entrees followed immediately, the app plates were still being removed. We still were trying to get through our first drink and couldn’t even finish them to order another. Waste of our time. Will not return
My husband and I love this place, and we had come to celebrate Valentines here for 3 years now, we always chose this place over Mastros and LGs because the quality of the food is amazing, therefore, this time we left dissapointed, our server ( never seen him before) was not to attentive, I understand it was busy, but we are easy custimers, he took for ever to take our wine bottle order, we have to ask the busser to advise the server we were ready to order since the wine was almost over, the salads took like 35 mins to arrive and the food another 30-40 minutes... i was so upset because our reservation was at 7:30 and we were the last table to leave, every time we go there we always order cappuccinos and obviously by the time we finished the machine was "turned off and cleaned" honestly I will come back because we love the place, but definitely chose a different server.
Reservations for 2, we’re not ready, after being taken through the entire restaurant, hostess placed us in the bar in front of the TV sets.
Food was recooked as delivered semi raw. People bumped into our table 3 times. Very disappointing meal. Seemed more like a cafeteria. $190 paid for overcrowded noisy cafeteria. We will never go back. We felt slighted in every way. Does not compare in any way to the competition. Would turn down a free meal.
While the ambience and service was exceptional. The food was just okay and since the prices are fairly high we were very disappointed.
My husband had a New York Strip, which i tasted and while it was cooked to order and tender and juicy it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. My husband remarked on this and i did not believe him until i tasted it and found that he was correct. I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked to order but just okay.
Again the service was perfect and the ambience was lovely but the food was just so-so and we will not be returning. Too many other terrific places in Palm Desert area to settle for so-so.
We ate here prior to going to a concert at the nearby McCallum Theater. Dinner was very good. The Artichoke Soup was exceptional. The bread basket was warm and the bread was very nice. Entrees: Hanger Steak was really good as was the Tuna. Two of us had the salmon and while the salmon was very good, the mix of brussels sprouts, riced cauliflower, bacon etc it was on didn't really work well. It needed the bacon to be in larger chunks and a bit more flavor as both sprouts and cauliflower can be bland. It probably was just a personal preference thing and next time I'll order the Hanger Steak!
We tried the cheesecake and the Chocolate lava cake for desert. Both were very good. We'll go back.
The negatives..the place was very cold..folks even went to their cars to get a jacket. We waited 45 minutes for our food..and the 18percent tip should be mentioned when one tips again. My friend who treated us mentioned the tip came to $38.00 for a under $75.00 bill..
The food was great.. also the bread. The noise level was very high. My fault for booking on a weekend nite during the season. VS PS..hubby adds all of the above, cold, noise and long wait, did not contribute to a pleasant dinner as we have had in the past..He felt the kitchen staff was having problems that nite..
Kaiser Grill is a dependable, slightly upscale steak and American food chain which is dependable and enjoyable. Decor is understated but handsome; seating is spacious and comfortable, and the service is attentive and friendly. The quality of the cuisine is above average, but not in the stratosphere. Prices are perhaps a bit high for the experience.
The wait staff was friendly; they brought a birthday card and dessert for my father. The food, however, was disappointing. My steak was over cooked, the side dishes were extremely salty; not really edible. I would have expected better for the price. My husband’s ribs were overwhelmed with sauce and not particularly tender or tasty.
Great food and experience. Took my husband here for his 40th birthday and it was perfect. The service was amazing. The manager was walking around greeting and checking on all the guests. Making sure we were all satisfied. It was a great experience for our first time and making a good impression on my husband. We wouuld gladly be back.
We had a 10% off entrees coupon from our resort which made Kaiser more affordable in our minds. The Caesar salad was OK that we split, but nothing special. My husband had the hanger steak and loved it - it was very tender & delicious! I had the crab & shrimp stuffed sole, which I also found delicious & loved it. If we return to this area in the future, we would definitely come back to Kaiser.
Service was superb. Our server was fantastic. The owner stopped by the table twice to make sure everything was fine. Got a call from restuarant the next day asking about our dining experience— first time I’ve had that happen.
Chicken piccata was very good though not best I’ve had but I’d order it again.
One member had rib eye. It was properly prepared, could be cut with a fork, and “melted in your mouth”.
Apple tart with vanilla ice cream was outstanding. Apples were fresh and not overly cooked so had a bit of snap to them. Caramel sauce was light and flavorful.
Noise is a problem. We had a family with small children crying near us and at times we couldn’t hear our own conversation. Think it was room we were in. Bar area has very nice seating and is large so will look at that option next time.
Dinner on New Years night was a huge disaster. Their pre fixe dinner menu was ridiculously overpriced for the food that was served which was either under or over cooked. All in all a poor experience for 6 guests. Very poor service. We noticed a table near us with the same problems. We have been going to this restaurant for years and now my husband has made the decision to boycott based on this experience. This should’ve been a celebration.
