Kaiser Grille Palm Desert Ratings and Reviews
The food was good, but only one selection seemed excellent (the pork chop). Everything was expensive, and ala carte, making it worse. One of our group ordered only a salad. One person who ordered chicken alfredo, I think, said it was too peppery. I won't go back.
Four of us had dinner at Kaiser Grille tonight. We contacted them when we made our reservation to see if they could accommodate a special medical dietary issue. They were very accommodating. The day of our reservation they called us to confirm and acknowledged that the reservation was note with regards to the dietary request. Our server was Page tonight. She was already alerted to our special request before we even mentioned it and was wonderfully attentive to us all the entire evening. You can tell that this restaurant is managed and run very well. Both the food and the service were great!
Very disappointed. They sat us at a table then said that we have to move to another table. When the food came the potatoes were cold. The filet that I ordered was not very warm and overdone. My wife's rack of lamb also came overdone. Did not send it back as we did want to wait any longer to eat.
They did discount the meal and gave us a gift card for the a future visit. There should have been no charge. The owner called the next day to apologize. Not sure if we would return. Was very overpriced for the quality.
Great environment, great service, great choices!
We were so pleasantly surprised to have the experience of creatively tended dishes with an emphasis on natural food sources.
An extensive wine list drawing from diverse vineyards.
Service was superb and the live music was most agreeable.....always a plus when digesting delicious food!
Overall thoroughly recommended.....and we'll be back for sure.
Love the manager and our server. Manager makes you feel like a special patron and so did our server. Bub staff never brought what we asked for or signal the server. Will definitely go back. May become our new favorite place for prime rib after the demise of Cactus Jack's, Indio.
Sometimes I forget how great the food is at Kaiser Grille because we come for Happy Hour so often, have great bar snacks and awesome cocktails, and watch sports and talk with the staff and other patrons. Tonight we had a a special dinner for my birthday in the dining room, and we were blown away. What great food. My wife had the salmon with dill sauce, perfectly cooked, succulent, with Brussel sprouts hash with truffle oil - to die for. I had the lobster ravioli with saffron sauce, with sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and two beautiful prawns. OMG. Kaiser Grille is a sure thing when in Palm Desert on the 111 corridor. I am not just saying it because we love the place. But we do. The staff is amazing, friendly and efficient. The food is killer.
Always a dinner date when we come to Palm Desert .... especially for the delicious Caun Blackened Prime Rib. Wonderful service by Brian and good to talk with Noel. You are always allowed to relax and take your time here. Making dinner a relaxing evening out.
On the whole, it is a laughable place with the worst food in the desert. They couldn't even make a passable Caesar salad. The special was a horrible piece of steak and a way overdone piece of lobster. So bad that we didn't even stay for the free desert.
After waiting 30-40 minutes for our food the manager comes out and tells us that the prime rib was 'done'. Wouldn't they have known well before that? They then offered another steak and then they magically served it to us with the rest of the food in 2 minutes. How did they cook a steak in 2 minutes? I think they knew they screwed up on the prime rib and made the steak they knew they were going to serve. The next issue was when we all got our food the mashed potatoes and vegetables were cold. It was just a very unusual night and I just wished they would have been more transparent sooner instead of hiding their error.
New chef caused a SERIOUS delay in receiving our dinner. One of our kids actually fell asleep waiting for dinner. The manager Noel did his best to compensate us. However, our drinks weren't kept filled and when the food finally came out, it wasn't good at all! Sauces tasted like they came out of seasoning packets. My lamb was tough. I forgive the service but not the food. Too bad because the ambiance was beautiful and the wine was great!
Kind of different experience. They had a new chef that was not used to restaurant cooking. Meal took an hour to arrive. The wait staff did their best to compensate. The food was good. Overall it was probably just that night and not their usual service
food was ok, took quite a while to receive food, waitress was non existent but a waiter saw we were in need and tended to us immediately. we were sitting in the bar area and had been waiting about 45 mins for food and no waitress in that time to explain. he let us know there was a new chef and apologized for wait. He tended to our every need after that. Great service from him. Had to take my check to the waitress as we were ready to leave and she was not aware of us pretty much at all. Again the waiter had to prompt her to help us. In all fairness maybe she was new to the scene, but he was outstanding. Probably may return sometime, the salads looked awesome!
We went for John's birthday. Kaiser Grille had a special $30 p/p 3-course filet mignon-shrimp dinner. It was excellent. Nice crisp caesar salad, petite filet (just enough, and cooked perfectly, as we requested it), very fresh shrimp and good choices on desserts. Had a nice bottle of wine as well. Our waitress Amber was very pleasant and accommodating. We got a nice dessert birthday surprise for John, and Amber offered to box up our dinner desserts for us. We went on a Fri night and there was a lovely lady at a piano performing live in the bar-lounge area. We were seated just far away enough to enjoy it w/out it intruding on our conversation. A very nice experience overall, and we will look forward to returning soon.
Went for father's birthday. Our server was distant and not responsive. Mediocre server tasks were missed like clearing wine glasses and asking us for refills before main course. Further, the food was adequate. In the middle of summer it's hard to get Brussel sprouts as your seasonal vegetable (even though seasonal vegetable is current day speak for "whatever we have"). I wouldn't care as much if it wasn't for the fact the meal cost $30-$40 per person. Just was very subpar experience for the price point.
I made the reservation a few hours before we came in at 5 and I noted it was for our anniversary but it was never acknowledged that it was our anniversary and very disappointed.
Since we ordered dessert, I felt it should have been taken care of.
