Great food, very expensive!
Outstanding service and great tasting food. Staff were welcoming. The manager was also very friendly. The Chilean Seabass was the best I have ever had and would recommend this dish to anyone that enjoys Seabass.

Saturday buffet lunch menu and food was more like food we get in a food court in a shopping mall.

We had lunch at Kai and were more impressed by the starter and the dessert than the main courses. Overall the food was scrumptious whilst a little pricy. Great for special occasion and will recommend to other friends.

Waitress was helpful in taking photos etc. General knowledge of Chinese food limited. The Lo-hei, surprisingly was not up to scratch.

However the service of the wine was very very slow, we had to ask multiple times for the lady in charge of the wine to come, too many times glasses left empty!

Good ambience and environment.
I booked here to give my partner a Chinese New Year experience, or at the very least a great Chinese experience. Although see thought it was “ok”, I was bitterly disappointed.
Firstly the staff, not one of them was Chinese!
Service was poor. Not polite. Not attentive or aware. Lots of distant looking uninterested people doing what they had too.
Two starters came over 5mins apart so mine was cold when hers arrived.
Mains arrived and were placed for the wrong person even though there was only 2 of us. And then the side noodles (quickest thing to make) came 5mins after the mains. The noodles were meant to be flavoured as described but were just very plain and rubbery.
There was no wow factor here in terms of food quality or service. I would prefer Novikov or Plum Valley for food and service.
Go elsewhere, trust someone that lived in Asian for years and is a massive foodie.
Chinese New Year celebration.
The table assigned was bad . Right at the service exit and station . There was no ambience to speak of . High traffic, rushed and there is no genteel air about the experience , there should not be a table in the location . When I enquiries via email ,it was clear that it was for a new year celebration as i asked about the Yee Sang .
We are however there for the food mainly , which is always excellent especially the dessert and the street noodle . Portion size for the Yee Sang and some of the main courses could be more generous ( since it’s meant for sharing ) even if pricing is adjusted up slightly .
A discreet location. The service was excellent and the food first rate. Will look forward to returning soon

Food was good but not worth the price. Service was good and desserts were good.Sauce on the iberico ribs was tasty but there was no meat on the bones. Wines were ridiculously overpriced. All in all it did not live up to the expectation one would have of a Michelin star restaurant
Really great service, With a soy allergy this isn't the best cuisine to try. But the manager was very helpful prior to booking and waiter/waitress were very considerate towards my allergy and very informative.

This was a birthday celebration with family. The food, service and ambience were second to none, as usual. A wonderful experience with twists of real genius.

Four of us had lunch at Kai - we had set menus.
The service was lovely and the food was tasty. However, it was a little strange as items were arriving one each from set menu - so for example we would receive one tiny plate of noodles, one tiny piece of seabass and it would be a bit akward to share between the four of us. Table of two next to us were receiving the same amount and sharing to two which is easier. It would be more comfortable if four people were getting at least two of the dishes, otherwise it appears that we paying more but getting less... we had to ask to repeat some of the dishes as it wasnt enough for all four people to try and we were given a repeat, but this wasnt made clear to us at the beginning and thus the experience wasnt as great as it could have been.

Food was just normal not outstanding.
Look at the restaurant from the outside I thought it would be an elegant, sort of like fine dining restaurant. However, the ambiance inside was just the opposite.
Not saying that they are bad, but don’t think I wanna go back next time.
Amazing dinner setting for my friends bridal dinner. Mum's came along and loved the food service and ambience from the moment we entered. Loved the food is sharing as we share anyways and every dish was sensational. Cannot wait to go back !!

The best Chinese in London
We went to Kai Mayfair to celebrate my birthday this year. Kai's Chinese cuisine is rather creative, unconventional and well presented. All ingredients used tasted fresh and well seasoned although overall it is a bit on the mild side to my liking. Do ask for their desserts menu, we loved and enjoyed our deserts so much, we may go back soon just to enjoy the deserts again.
Kai is known as one of the top Chinese restaurants in London. We were booked in for the brunch on Saturday afternoon and felt a bit rushed (arrived at 1.30) and were told that it was a two-hour seating. The food is brought out all too quickly and should be spread out a little more. It is too overwhelming to be served the food altogether like that (15 courses) and it also goes cold very quickly as the plates are not warm and the air con is on. The deserts were fabulous. Cocktails slightly on the pricey side - food could be a bit more creative.
Staff are excellent as is the ambience so no complaints there. However will not be rushing back.
I am big fan of Kai normally but this time it was a little bit below my high expectations.

Amazing food!! Was disappointed in the sevice, sent back chicken which was uncooked, did not receive any acknowledgement from any off the staff or management or did we received apologies, we had ordered some side dish, which remained on our table getting cold, and were not replaced with hot sides as the chicken took 15 mins to come to the table, we have been to many Michelin star restaurant, and that was definitely not the service i expected.
Our favorite place to eat in London. Went twice on a four day trip. Wasabi Prawns!
Excellent evening at the best Chinese restaurant.
It is pricey so one to save for special occasions. The cocktails were so tasty. My personal favourites are the tiramisu martini, spiced passion fruit martini and the lychee martini.
Dessert was also divine- we had the creme brûlée - best creme brûlée preparation I have ever had
