Inspired by the “food fair” of Hawaii 130 years ago that brought on an influx of ethnic cuisine, Kai Market celebrates the traditional Hawaiian meal which consists of various fresh seafood and exotic fruits to the many dishes that inspired generations of Hawaiians. Rather than submitting to a single style, Kai Market offers delicacies from many cultures with a local touch to make them truly Hawaiian. Chefs also want to bring the kitchen out to their guests’ tables. Kai Market presents interactive chefs preparing food for guest enjoyment. Kai Market will inspire the sights, sound and tastes of yesteryear with the delivery of a modern and upscale dining event.

A bit overpriced. Very Friendly and kind waitress. Bus staff takes to long to remove old plates.

Everything was good. The server was kind and the food was worthy for the cost except the reception woman was very unkind and made us uncomfortable.

The hostess that seated us was very rude. We made dinner reservations and when we asked for a table outside she made a face at us thinking we didn’t notice. That’s my only complaint. Waiter, and food were great!

I was disappointed with the long wait to get a table assigned to us even though we made open table reservations.
Food was not that good for Valentine's Day dinner...nothing special. Best was probably the desserts.
Won't want to come back.

We have dined here many times, often for special occasions. This is a favorite of many kamaaina because the taste and cuisine cater to the local tastes. Large space so that children do not feel claustrophobic.

Casual atmosphere with beachfront. Excellent service for a buffet. Food choices on a smaller scale but good quality selections. As a local resident, was pleasantly surprised that it was such a good value with the Kamaaina discount. Valet parking was validated so only tip needed. Will definitely go back.

We had a reservation on Monday, at 7:30pm for a table of six. Two of us arrived at 7pm and were seated immediately. Our waiter, Kan, recognized us as we have dined there previously. He was very helpful. The drinks were good except a martini was served in a wine glass. The rest of the party arrived at 7:30 and we noticed that the room was almost empty. The food was good but the selections were limited. There is a big difference in the food selections between weeknights and weekends.

Expensive buffet but you get good quality selection and in the end is reasonable value for the price. You can eat too much easily...

This was our 4th visit and the food selection and freshness was good but not as great as in prior visits. The prime rib was subperb and much better than prime rib restaurants. Missed the fresh steamed fish this visit. The broiled salmon was too dry. What this buffet does best is serve smaller trays and replenish as needed to keep the food fresh. This was our 4 guests first vist and they loved it. Having eaten here when it first opened, I can only give it 4 stars tonight.

Great food. Excellent service. The restaurant is "open air", and it does get a little warm on humid days. The ceiling fans help a little. When the weather is nice and the headwinds are blowing, the restaurant is a lot cooler. Overall, it's a great place to try "island" cuisine made from LOCAL produce and LOCAL livestock.

Great food, but limited buffet.
Limited salad bar. Great seafood chowder, sashimi, wonderful cheese selection, grilled prawns, wonderful deserts. Limited fruit section and very basic. No papaya or watermelon. Great prime rib.
Too expensive for what is offered. Need to provide more selection.
Can't beat the views!!

Very very very overpriced. Food quality was comparable to other buffets half the price. Service was outstanding, but for $60 a person, there should be double the choices served. Great experience being on a Hawaiian vacation, but I won't dine there again. Lesson learned!!

悪くはないけど、ビュフェとしてはもう少し料理の質、数を上げて欲しい感じ。ライブも併設のバー向けで、食事をしながらという感じじゃない。もう少し位置を考えればいいのに。
まあファミリー向けとしては十分かな。

The ambience was amazing!!! The food however was way overpriced for the selection that was available. And the shrimps were undercooked. I had to pick the cooked ones carefully for my mapotge wife. And finally, the server didn't refill our drinks so i was eating ice to wash down my meal. We won't be back anytime soon.

I didn't like the king crab legs because they're a pain to crack open and I didn't like the idea that you couldn't help your self and that you had to be given a certain amount each time you wanted more. I thought this is buffet? So you choose king crab legs which are a pain to crack open compared to snow crab legs and then you limit your customers to a certain amount for each serving. So what am I paying $50+ for? When everything else on the menu besides crab and prime rib, I can get anywhere else. Maybe they have different crab every seafood night, idk? I just don't care for king crab and the fact that I'm only limited to so many per serving. So much for paying big bucks for buffet.

I REALLY ENJOY THE FOOD.
I WISH WE HAD BETTER SEATING TO VIEW THE BEACH SCENERY.
I MADE RESERVATIONS FOR OPEN TABLE BUT WOULD RECOMMEND A VIEW TO CHOOSE THE SEATING TOO.
OVERALL SERVICE WAS GOOD AND EXCELLENT BUFFET.
WORTH IT......I'M GOING BACK AGAIN

Seafood selection was adequate. king crab quality was a little dry, salads, fruit and raw selection very good. it was a little lacking in the hot selection, just barely adequate in quality. we were celebrating our 22nd anniversary and ere presented with a little anniversary brownie at end of meal, which was appreciated. I would consider bringing family for another occasion.

Somewhat disappointed with quality of food considering the price. While there was a large selection of food, the only thing that really stood out as excellent was dessert - particularly the pineapple bread pudding. There was a variety of proteins, but again, nothing that really stood out. The fried rice was extremely dry, the garlic shrimp lacked flavor, and the salmon was mediocre. Somewhat disappointed considering the price. Best thing was the service and the view.

Host did not greet us properly as he was speaking with his colleagues. He said hello and walked away without giving any explanation and one of his colleagues offered us help but the host came back to tend for us again and that entire moment threw us off. A couple of menus at the buffet were very very good but the overall selection was so-so. A certain kind of dessert became unavailable at a pretty early hour. It was quite disappointing as I expect every buffet menus to be served ample. Venue is right at the ocean front with a nice breeze.

Service was really good, ambiance was really nice, food was only okay. I was disappointed in the food. It went down since I came the last time which was around 4 years ago. The only things that I like in the buffet line were the shrimp and ribs. Prime rib was good if you like it over cooked. It was more of a medium well done. The dessert was only okay too. The last time I came to Kai Market the only think I remember was the dessert but I was super disappointed that it wasn't the way it use to be. Over all, I wouldn't come back personally. If it was for a some type of party then yes but other then that no.

I have been to Kai Market many times and have generally enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is usually quite crowded but manageable. This time - a Monday - it was not even half full. The food was very disappointing except for the appetizers and desserts which are always great. The main courses were especially pedestrian - two of the choices were both macaroni and cheese. Our party of six was very disappointed at the quality of the entrees compared to our previous visits. We will try again sometime but not on a Monday.
