Kahill's Steak, Fish & Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
We had an early family Thanksgiving lunch. The reservation was very easy to make and was accurate. Our table was ready. We had great service by a waiter and waitress. The meal was ordered and received with no real waiting. The menu was acceptable for children and adults. A great dining experience.
We ordered a bottle of Coppola Pinot Noir and what an interesting bottle! Highly recommend, especially on Fridays when it’s 1/2 off of bottles! We ordered the black and bleu nachos again but decided to just skip entrees this time since the appetizer are so amazing are so filling! We also ordered bacon wrapped bleu cheese dates. Yummy! I make a version of these at Christmas and I make mine with goat cheese but I may try bleu cheese this year. We also had the k-Chislic which is steak tips and garlic Parmesan fries. The fries are very shoe string, so petite that they are crunchy which I like. So great experience again! Amazing service, beautiful view of the river. Great birthday dinner with my hubby!
Had several business dinners here. Food is ok but there are not a lot of higher end restaurants in the area so this is the choice. It is a nice setting particularly a table that views the river. My experience is that the fish is usually overdone. This time the waitress removed my salad prior to me finishing it. She took it so fast I could not even get the words "I'm still working on it" out of my mouth.
This was our 15th anniversary date night.. our server was more concerned with a larger table of 6 than refilling our water or bringing our food in a timely manner. We ordered salt and vinegar calamari.. there were more pickled peppers and batter coated peppers than actual calamari (4 pieces) .. over 45 minutes later we received our entree.. which half of one was so over seasoned (pepper) when mentioned to our server her response was "oh that happens sometimes" no offer to replace the order and brought us a bill. And then asks if we would like to order dessert..we watched a server storm off from a table frustrated by her guests complaints and then cry at 3 other tables instead of composing herself. .. we paid and left.. won't return or recommend.. beautiful establishment.. but the staff may need retraining.
My husband and I went to Kahills for our one year wedding anniversary. The service was awesome and the food was phenomenal. My husband order the Ribeye and I ordered the Halibut. Both were beyond delicious. I also order a glass of Moscato which was very tasty. We are from out of town and not sure when we will return but whenever that is, we'll be sure dine at Kahills again.
Kahill's is always good! We have been there several times, and always enjoy it. The food is excellent, they have a good wine list and the service is always good. This time my husband had the lamb and I had the duck. Both were outstanding. It's especially enjoyable if you can get a table by the windows so you can watch the river go by.
Food, ambiance and the hostess were phenomenal! For some reason our service was way below par. She never checked on us, hot us refills, and when we tried to pay and leave we had to find someone else to get our check and when she finally took it she left it up at the bar register and never brought it back so I could sign and leave. Again the gracious hostess had to step in. It was really just an unpleasant experience. Not sure what the servers problem was??
Beautiful view of the Missouri River, as KAHILLS is located within the new Marriott hotel.
This is confusing, as there is no sign out front to say that "the restaurant is here". We located it with map quest, but still walked into the lobby and asked if they knew where the KAHILLS restauant is?
Onice we found the place everything was fabulous!
We had Salmon and the double bone Pork Chop, both were tasty and accompanied by locally grown produce and garlic mashed potatoes. Yumm. I would like to try their Sunday brunch.
I'll rate my experience in descending order from good to bad:
Service - Attentive. It was a slow Wed night, but still ip to expectations
Soup - butternut squash bisque. Tasty if a bit peppery
Mixed drink - average. Had an Old Fashioned and I don't think the bartender knew what s/he was doing
Side of has browns. Bad. Not one but two cheeses inside, cheddar and I think ricotta. Blech. Didn't match together at all
Steak - terrible. I had the 8 oz filet. First, the menu touts their meat is "Chairman's Reserve" premium. Having never heard of it, I asked if it was some sub-class of Prime. Waitress responded it was a proprietary ranking by Tyson of their beef. You read right. Tyson. As in, chicken. Wth do they know about beef? Very little apparently. Googling turns up that this beef is Choice. Now, you'd think with this being a steakhouse, they'd serve Prime. Nope. Further, she said medium well was pink in the center. It was not. No pinkness at all but I didn't want to be a jerk and waste it as it was edible, just not great.
For a tab of $65, the food falls way short. Will no return. I can buy a better cut at Whole Foods and grill it myself with far better results.
Overall experience was fine. My observations are that my steak could have been served warmer. I would also suggest you upgrade your breads. The bread was just not of the quality you would expect at a restaurant like yours. The waitress we had was good and friendly and it was nice the manger came around to introduce himself and see how we were doing.
It was difficult to find entrance to restaurant due to construction that has gone on for months. Good selection of breakfast and lunch items for Sunday brunch. Food was good. Service good. Glad we had reservation, arrived 15 minutes early, but was seated immediately. Others without reservations had wait time. NOT really accessible for handicap or wheelchairs inside restaurant. Restrooms not easy to find.
Food not prepared as ordered, prime rib was cold and tough. Second time this has happened. Should not be the responsibility of the wait to explain why a prime rib was not prepared correctly. The wait was exceptional and offered to have it prepared with Cajun sear as ordered. I declined.
This was a family gathering, celebrating a family member's 70th birthday. It was the perfect location for our late lunch with ages ranging from 7 to 74. The staff was fabulous, meeting requests from a bowl of cherries for the kids to a bottle wine for the parents. Great food, great atmosphere & great service. We were all extremely happy with our choice.
