Kafe Neo - Mill Creek Ratings and Reviews
Food was fantastic, good drinks selection, unhurried, great setting and decor, we loved the ambience. The only negative is the wait staff were all young and I felt inexperienced, therefore the interaction was minimal and not all of our questions regarding the menu were answered. I definitely will be back and am happy to recommend Kafe Neo to friends.
I really liked our experience, I've always loved this restaurant, I've never had a bad experience and the day I went was no exception. The staff were super sweet, fast and always checked in on us. Food was fantastic, there was no negative thing I found in regards to my night out.
With reservations they are excellent at getting you in on time, they have never once failed to seat by the reserved time even when packed. If you do not have reservations there will be a wait, how long depends on when you show up. They have delicious Greek food, and the appetizer selection is great. We don't have many options for Greek food so I'm pleased such a tasty option within 5 miles of home.
We had made a reservation, and was seated at the least desirable table for two on the dining room side; this table was against a half-wall immediately next to the front door entrance. Also important to note (since we did not) - the Happy Hour menu and pricing is only available if you sit in the bar/lounge area. We were unaware of this, between the less desirable table and wanting the Happy Hour menu, we moved to a different table. Tucked around the corner, it had a nice view (window) and we still got great service. The Happy Hour menu has plenty of options with good prices. We tried the tzatziki & pita ($4) - we felt there could have been more tzatziki. For dinner, I had the hummus platter (lots of hummus, plenty of pita, plus cucumbers & feta) as well as the kefthedakia (Greek meatballs). The meatballs were TO DIE FOR and at $5, provided excellent value.
My husband had the firecracker shrimp ($8) and there was about 8-12 shrimp. Spicy, crunchy, exactly what you'd expect - though my husband felt he should have had more shrimp for the price. I felt it was an ample portion for the price. He also had the lamb-stuffed piquillo peppers. The lamb is finely diced and I was expecting ground lamb, but nonetheless it was delicious and served in a creamy tomato sauce.
We will definitely return to try more of their Happy Hour menu, though their regular dining menu looks delicious, too! The nice thing with the lounge is both the Happy Hour menu, as well as the regular Dinner Menu, are available.
For the cost you simply cannot get better clean, fresh, creative Greek dishes in this area. We have struggled to find healthy food in Mill Creek that isn't a chain restaurant (out of a bag and into a microwave quality) or something so fancy and over priced it is only for the "no kid" excessive budget family. Cafe Neo is a throwback to pre 2008 quality and prices. You still have to swipe a credit card for a reasonable amount but you always feel like every penny was worth the house-made, clean, warm bread, fresh, large-portioned food. It is really clean modern Greek with a respectable price. The staff is prompt, friendly and able; always checking in with you and attending to your needs even when meal prep might slow a bit during crazy busy dinner times. We like to order a few appetizers and wine and sit and chat while dipping warm flat bread in fresh hummus. Yum. You can eat fine dining or choose from a variety of casual gyros and fries. The atmosphere may lean toward romantic fine dining at first glance, and I can see taking a special date here, but we have taken our quiet well-behaved kids and met friends for a more casual relaxed experience. A really surprising gem in a world of either over -priced or under-whelmed places. Cafe Neo is amazing house-made food at a really good value with the flexibility for a special date, business meal, or a special weekend family night out.
My girlfriend, who lives nearby, enjoyed her meal. Said she would bring her husband back.
I thought the menu was limited, the service rather slow, and my pasta undercooked and did not have enough cheese. Will not suggest we return, not when so many other choices within steps of this place.
The food and drinks were terrific. Our server was outstanding. We needed gluten free and with the special GF menu we had no difficulty choosing a wonderful meal. (except for the extensive amount of menu choices) The food, the service and the general atmosphere made for a memorable Mother's day evening.
We were wonderfully surprised to find "Greek" dining in the Seattle area that exceeded expectation. The food was amazing and prepared with detail from beginning to end. The overall atmosphere and service was quite comforting. From the moment we were seated; our order was taken, drinks service and meal courses brought to the table in a flowing pace that we didn’t feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We made a reservation for 6 people, we received a call when we were on our way about 2 minutes late, tried to call right back, yet they gave the table away to what appeared to be some of their friends. We ended up getting stuck in a table in the back of the bar, with no apologies. It was not an ideal place for a group of 6 to be able to talk to one another. Other than that, the food is fine, the service was good, but why make a reservation if you do not have 1 minute of leeway to be late. Not OK with me, and I will likely not choose to go back.
Cafe Neo Mill Creek is our favorite Greek restaurant. The food and service is always excellent. The servers are friendly, fast, knowledgeable and willing to meet your dietary needs. The Mousakka is to die for. We always order the Neo appetizer as well; the dips and pita are the best.
Kafe Neo is small, so has limited seating options for more than 4. I recommend it for couples and smaller groups. I found opentable because I was looking for a way to get in here for dinner without the long waits that where typical if my wife and I dropped in on a weekend evening.
Kafe Neo does a good job of seating opentable reservations, I have never had to wait past my reservation time using them. Their great food and their ability to take opentable reservations have combined to make this a place a dinner destination.
You will always expect friendly, well timed service and well prepared Greek food. We come here very often not only it is in our neighborhood but also we love the food served here. The Variety is not large but authentic Greek. Happy hour (3-6 pm ) is my favorite when you can taste all the small dishes at reasonable prices, along with drinks. It's bright, clean, cozy, media sized, suitable for small parties of 2-6.
I come from the East coast from Greek family and since I moved in this area I found it hard to get really good Greek food. This one was surprisingly good and on the East side. The recipes are not all authentic. But their versions of the dishes are delightful. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a tasteful dining experience with good company and savor delicious food.
To be honest I didn't think that it would be all that good. I figured it was another cookie cutter Greek Restaurant that catered to the masses. To my surprise I found a Gyro that tasted like the ones I had in Greece. I will be back with the family. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Greek food.
We were seated quickly, and our waitress was friendly, helpful and quick. We decided to order a selection of appetizers (Mezedes) instead of entrees. Some of which were excellent, others not so much:
The stuffed piquillo peppers were excellent: nice blend of pepper and lamb with a nicely done Romesco sauce.
The baked giant beans with feta was also wonderful - a nice combination of flavors.
The lamb souvlaki was nicely seasoned, but a bit over cooked and somewhat dry.
The hummus was more lemony and less garlicky than I'm used to, but OK.
The skordalia was gluey and overbeaten.
the veggie dolmathes were rather bland - we've had much better.
I've never had a problem with anything at this restaurant. We stopped in tonight just for dessert. I asked the waiter to see the dessert tray. He flips open the menu & says here are the desserts & walks away. I've eaten here at least 30 times in the last two years since moving to this area. I know the routine & a dessert tray is always brought to your table. It's like he couldn't be bothered because we were just having dessert & wasn't worth his time because he's not going to get a larger tip. The entire time we were here he was nowhere to be found & was very rude & ignored us. I don't need the attitude when I'm dining out. Like I said this is the first time I have ever had a problem here.
While we had a large party, we waited over a half hour for a table that we had reservations for. There were small parties seated at the few large tables. It appeared they did not prioritize our reservation. Ended up taking a table outside so that we did not have to wait longer. Manager was rude. Food was fine.
I made a reservation and requested a booth. We were led to a regular table next to several empty booths that were filled shortly after we were seated. It took nearly ten minutes for the server to bring out water and take our drink order, and nearly as long to get the final bill after our meal. There was nothing great to write home about, but not terrible either -- a few small things just added up (like requested sauce was never brought out)to make a very lackluster birthday dinner.
Our food was good but we felt rushed to order and once we did, forgotten. I regret that I wasted a kid free date night here and I won't be back for dinner anytime soon.
The restaurant was very busy so I was glad for our reservation. We were seated right away back by the bar. It is close back there and not as private as a booth. The ambience is more casual than the front of the restaurant. There are two giant big screen TV's and more of a sports bar vibe.
Immediately our server appeared and the rush was on. We were asked if we want drinks... and do we want to order dinner?? Boom- drinks. Want to order dinner? We ordered an appetizer..."I'm happy to take your dinner order". Ugh.
We ordered and dinner arrived almost immediately. We were not bothered again. For anything. I had to ask a busser for more water. The check arrived as soon as our plates were clear.
No ambience, no fun, no thanks.
