Kabuto Japanese Steak House and Sushi
If you are celebrating a birthday, we provide a complimentary ice-cream sundae. Feel free to bring a birthday cake in Sunday - Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, we do permit cakes to be brought in; if the reservation is booked 8 p.m. or after.
If you have children, one child ages 10 or under can dine free Sunday - Thursday evenings - with two full paying adults on the same guest check with them; and two canned goods - which we donate to the Urban Ministry for them.
Kabuto is located on Stanley Road off of West Wendover Avenue and I-40. We are the best Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar in Greensboro! We are close to the Coliseum, minutes from downtown Greensboro and near the Grandover Resort.
Come join us and see why we were voted best in the Triad Area!
Took the family on May 21st for son’s birthday. Sushi was fresh- service was great, cook was fun and entertaining and food was awesome. Nothing to complain about
It was great. The food was great, cook was great and wait staff was great!
Great service. Great food. Interaction with others diners.
We had reservations for 7:30. We did not sit down until 8:30. When the chef arrived, he realized the griddle had not been turned on. He turned it on and said he would be back in 5 minutes. Ten minutes later, he began to cook. He had a lot of conversation, buy at this point, we just wanted to eat. He seemed like a nice guy and under different circumstances, we probably would have been more engaged.
Server was mildly attentive.
Salad dressing was watery...should have asked for double soup.
Food was good, nice portions.
First time eating here...may be the last.
Condensation from air unit above our table dripped.
Dined at Kabuto for Mother’s Day.
The Good: Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the chef and his culinary skills!!!
The Bad: Our waiter was awful. Brought soup without enough spoons. Brought drinks without enough straws. Spilled sauce from our pork dumplings appetizer all over the table, left and didn’t return to clean it up. Finally I had to swipe a rag from one of the carts to wipe up HIS mess. Waiter clearly didn’t want to be there that day. Service was so bad I got the feeling that it was intentional.
Our party of five on Mother’s Day had a great time. Food and service were excellent. Allowing us to have a reservation on this special day was very helpful.
Kabuto is a typical japanese steak house. Depending on what you get the meal can become very pricey. The chef put on a good show and was very personable. I would go again if in that area.
Unfortunately this will be our last trip as a family to this restaurant! We are a larger family part of which includes 18 month old twin boys.. this establishment doesn’t agree with allowing our babies to share a plate without changing us extra $$$ it is insane!!! We dine out on average of 6 nights a week, we have never had the experience we did here on Friday night anywhere ! Most parents feed children this size off their plates, however one of our boys has an egg allergy so we always order the boys an extra plate to share. I was first told it was their policy and to basically get over it... although we have dined here more than 20 times with the boys and have never had to pay extra, I pressed my issue and spoke with a manager who then told me all the “extras” I got for the share, all we got were 2 scoops of rice and maybe 3oz of protein... he wants to argue that I am wrong, goes to ask someone else and comes back to offer me a $5 bill.,,, while sarcastically saying, your baby did take up a seat! Keep your $$$ you just lost a customer... whom may I state came very often always spending a fortune to feed her tribe!!
The cook was great but felt rushed by the waiter.
The food was amazing, but out waiter was very rude. He continued to make rude comments to my giesty
The server was a little messy. Spilled soup and our salads had dressing running down the sides
Our server was less then polite to my daughter. The food was good but the poor service from the server really changed my desire to go dine here again.
Food was just ok, nothing special. I guess this type place is more fun when you're a kid. It's not entertaining, or maybe it was our cook.
My experience was great and me and my family will love to come back in the future. We had a great time
Kabuto is one of our favorite Japanese steak houses in the Triad. The food is consistently good. The entertainment at the cooktop is usually pretty good as well. The service can be hit or miss. Tonight our waiter was excellent, as was our chef. Our only complaint was the rice. Kabuto has a hard time nailing the rice. Last visit it was so undercooked it was crunchy. This time is was more like a creamy risotto. Everything else was cooked perfectly so I guess the rice may be a minor complaint, but it such a major part of the meal. We look forward to enjoying Kabuto for a long time to come.
Our chef acted rushed & we had brought a new couple b/c we generally Love the chef, but he wasn't entertaining. Otherwise enjoyed.
Food was delicious and they did an excellent job of helping us celebrate our parents 51st wedding anniversary!
We did have a great time, I didnt like the fact that we were seated with so many kids at our table, they kept playing with the food and putting the soup noodles on the hot griddle while the parents were ignoring them. They should be a bit more careful how they seat families.
I loved the place it was my first time coming. You get a lot of good for the price
The food was great and the cook was great. Our waitor was not very good. We hardly saw him and our drinks were empty for a long time.
This place was so nice and the staff was nice the food was awesome
Chef was great with the kids, very entertaining!! Food was great, drinks were delicious.
Anniversary dinner loved our cook and food was delicious
It was great but at the end we were just handed our cake, it wasn’t even lit and no one sang Happy Birthday to my daughter.
This was our first time eating here and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves! The food was excellent, the service was good, and the chef definitely entertained us! The only thing that I did not like was the lighting. I feel as though it was too dim.
I love coming here! We always have great food and service and the atmosphere is amazing ☺️
Restaurant was clean, servers were nice and attentive, chef was amazing and the food was great. Overall experience was awesome, my daughter really enjoyed her birthday.
Even though we had a reservation… The wait was extremely long! The food was OK… But not as good as other Japanese restaurant we had been to in the past. Our chef didn’t interact with us very much at all… Which is part of the fun of coming to a place like this. He didn’t do any of the cooking tricks that we have seen before. So, basically, he just grilled the food and put it on our plate. The desert bananas at the end were made with a caramelized sauce by other chefs. Ours literally put the bananas on the griddle for a few seconds...then onto our plates. Not even a flip over. One of our orders he got wrong. And our friend was billed the wrong amount. And then they didn’t return his credit card after he had paid. We actually had to come back to the restaurant after we had left to retrieve it. The restaurant was way overbooked… And absolutely packed. And the noise level inside was uncomfortable at best. Not a great experience for the wait time and the cost. We will pick a different Japanese place the next time we want a fun night out!
Fun restaurant. Not a place you would frequent often. Service can be touch and go.
The only thing that did not go well we told them at the check in it was my daughter’s 13th birthday. Hostess said they would put it on the board. They did not do anything. Disappointed
Celebrated my 45th birthday with my family. Everyone enjoyed the show & food! They especially loved me doing the “Chicken dance”. =) Made my birthday even better knowing everyone had a great time! Thank you!!
The food was fresh and delicious and it had an ample amount. I had a birthday party there and the servers and the cook were great!
Our chef was very quiet and boring. We had a table full of kids and came for the fun of the experience as well as the food but we were disappointed yet again.
I loved the dinner!!! The food was great and the chef was awesome. It was my birthday celebration. I would definitely be coming back and recommend the restaurant. Thanks for a great night.
Fast and great service. I made reservation and was able to get in right at the time of our reservation
Love this place!!! The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly
The atmosphere is nice and planning to return for another girls night out while enjoying a wonderful meal.
I swear this is my favorite restaurant in the world! I love coming here. Literally every year on my birthday I come to celebrate. Great food. Great show. Great people. Great spirits.
The food was good. All members of party present prior to 7 pm reservation; we had to wait 30 - 40 minutes past reservation time.
Tacky table time limit stated on menu; felt really rushed whole meal; chef wiping off grill when we were brought to go boxes; never mind still eating.
Too expensive, not to be able to enjoy and eat in a normal pace.
We went on Sat afternoon and I understand that Saturday is the busiest day but we were being rushed to the point that a member of my party was not done eating and he took her plate before she was done eating. We couldn’t have cake at the table, and they cleared the grill and food away before we were done, it just felt VERY rushed.
