We love Kabooki Sushi...but DAMN.....how cold does it have to be before you push customers out the door... tonight we found out. We got there tonight and immediate were cold. Asked the waiter about it...said "they turn down the tempreture to prep the fish / keep it cold...but they turned it up 15 minutes ago"....but it did not get any warmer. My guests had to go to the car and get a jacket and blanket. And I guess I should have clued in when the waiter had a long sleeve shirt under his normal work shirt. The food was great as always...but damn guys....how cold do you have to make it? In the end...we left early after our rolls were out....got desert somewhere else as we simply couldn't stand the temp any longer.
Kabooki is great! They have a very tasty menu but it is a small location and seating is limited. Normally they are busy so do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
Able to get sit quickly because we made reservations for an early dinner but there was a long line of diners waiting by the time we were done . Brussel Sprouts were amazing; some items on Specials were a little pricey.
Neighborhood gem. Don't let the location fool you.. ramen Sunday's is the best
Always wonderful food, always! We went on Sunday with our out of town guest mainly for the hugh bowl of pork belly ramen. Two in our party got the pork belly ramen and it was explained by the waiter that the portion size has been reduced. Fortunately, they shared a spicy roll and edamame. They enjoyed the perfectly prepared pork belly ramen, just not the new portion size.
I choose the scallops with cauliflower risotto. While the flavor and presentation was spot on, the portion was so small, two medium size scallop and a dollop of risotto, that I made eating a single grain of rice a bite of food in order to finish my meal with the rest of the party. This was the size of an appetizer with the price of an entree. I would have ordered a roll to augment my meal, but the food was not coming out of the kitchen very quickly and we were on our way to the airport.
Overall a delicious meal. Unfortunately it was not the show stopper experience we’ve enjoyed in the past.
Always a great meal at Kabooki. They were out of a few of our regular drinks (even the lemonade that I always get) but we still had a great meal. Busy Friday night; we used to be able to come here for dinner without a reservation but I’d really recommend going on Open Table ahead of time - I think they said they only use the two front tables for walk-ins.
We Always Love Kabooki. The Restaurant is an A++. We Love Kabooki. No restaurant in Orlando or Winter Park has better or fresher tuna! Amazing food and service. Our only criticism is the construction of the booth seating - you can feel every movement the person makes in the seat behind you. The common partition was poorly conceived.
Our server Kim was phenomenal. The food was amazing! This is our new favorite Japanese restaurant for sure! If the scallops with cauliflower risotto are on special, don’t miss it!
Not your average sushi. This chef is very creative and offered inspired sushi. Our server was great walking us through the menu, making recommendations and telling us what was top choices. Will definitely go back again and again.
Only thing is that we were eating so much and having too much fun that manager reminded us that it was Friday and a busy night for them. We were there for 2-1/2 hours but did order a lot. And when we left noticed there were still empty tables and no one waiting.
The meal was amazing, as always. Never disappointed.
We hadn't been to Kabooki in a while, but decided to try to squeeze in on a Sunday. Definitely plan ahead, and make a reservation! They were able to accommodate us at the Sushi Bar...which turned out to be an awesome experience. You can see everything they are making, and the chefs are friendly and accommodating. The specials blew our socks off - super creative and not what you find at typical sushi locations! (even the upscale one(s) you are thinking of).
The food at Kabooki is exceptional. Creative, interesting, and so delisiouse. Its my favorite place in Orlando to get sushi. But I will be getting pick or from now on unless we are going as a large group. My husband and I arrived for our resevation and the place was packed, loud, and overwhelming. We sat in a booth, which normally I love, but not at Kabooki. The booths share a back with the people behind you and I was being bounced and hit over and over. It was so frustrating and distracting. I truly love the food, so I am so sad that the atmosphere and seating is such an issue. Maybe on a week night it would be better... But I will be doing take out for now.
Food is always consistently great. The pork jowl hot pot is my favorite. The eel nigiri is a must. Just tried the lobster buffalo, which is amazing! Not a huge fan of the seating arrangements but it's a small venue but it's so worth the food.
Kabooki is my favorite sushi restaurant! The food is not only amazing, it is an experience. The seafood is phenomenally fresh, and the service has never disappointed me. Please support this local business!
Favorite sushi in Orlando!
A great place for both sushi and a variety of sakes. The tempura and "rolls" were really good, too. Definitely a place to return to.
Fantastic as always. One of our favorite for Sushi!!! Very imaginative, creative dishes.
Excellent as always! Dish was fresh and beautiful.
Fantastic sushi. Might be the best in town.
Outstanding Sushi in an odd, Hole-in-the-wall location.
The food LOOKS awesome , BUT I can't even take a second bites of the food .
I ordered ramen , and beef on the hot stone(which was worst than Outback Steakhouse). My husband ordered the sweet shrimp sushi , other fish sushis and ramen. He likes the shrimp, but not others.
Suggestion: If you like ramen, please go to Sapporo Ramen , if you like sushi , please go to Shin Japanese cuisine , if you like beef , please go to Gyu-Kaku!
I'm very disappointed, and I don't think I'll come back to this place again.
Plus, the waiter wasn't ever look at my untouched ramen (Usually when people see unfinished or untouched food , they will ask if I need a to-go box or if there is anything wrong with the food )he just gave us the bill.
Everything was delicious, fresh & authentic. Don't let the location dissuade you from going.
Make a reservation on weekends or you will wait.
Maguro Truffle was very good! Sushi rolls were fresh and tasty. Server was attentive, willing to give suggestions and explain what was in the rolls. Noise level was high. There wasn’t much ventilation in the restaurant, it smelled like grease. Even with a reservation, there was a 25 minute wait for the table, I did arrive on time for my reservation.
A visit to Kabooki always results in edible ecstasy. My woman sticks with her Vietnamese roll and ginger salad, plus a few pieces of nigiri a la carte. I mostly stick to the daily specials, and this visit did not disappoint. I'm a big fan of yellowtail, and they had Kampachi in, which is Hawaiian Amber Jack. The dish was served sashimi style with two different sauces to dip the fish in; extraordinary! Kabooki's tuna selection is outstanding, and their Bluefin Tasting did not disappoint. I ended with their Tsukiji Box of four different fish. Unfortunately, I cannot recall all four fish, but, they were all amazing. However, the stand out was definitely the Kampachi. I look forward to my next visit.
Kabooki has become my favorite sushi spot in town but the fish was a bit extra fatty this experience in one of the sushi rolls. Fatty to the point it was inedible. I’ll go back but just not order that particular roll again.
My favorite sushi of all time! I have had sushi all over Orlando and Kabooki is by far the freshest. Great for a fun night out as well. The vibe is very upbeat!
Great food at Kabooki. Always enjoy their crudo on a salt block, as well as the Hawaiian Roll. Fish is always fresh, beautifully presented. They are often busy, and the space is small, you need a reservation. The noise level is loud, which is my only complaint. I usually try to get a seat at the sushi bar to watch food prep, or if you can snag one of the few booths, it helps with the noise level somewhat.
Kabooki Sushi was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the eclectic food! The Wagu beef on hot stone was amazing! Would definitely recommend and will be returning!
ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY WAY. Best Sushi in town hands down. Had the ramen this time and the broth was so flavorful and they do not skimp on the meat. Tried a new roll that had mixed greens instead of rice and was wrapped with rice paper instead of seaweed. Surpisingly refreshing and a healthy alternative! I was not missing the rice! Definitely try the homemade ice cream—the orange ginger was divine. Also, our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accomodating. So grateful! Thank you Kabooki Sushi for never disappointing!
Kabooki is a great restaurant but I think they have a tendency to overbook reservations. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation and weren’t seated until 45 minutes after our reservation. While our server was very gracious and very apologetic, and we were comped a hot sake, it was still a bummer to wait as long as we did.
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and were excited to try Kabuki Sushi for the first time having seen adds on social media.
All was okay with the seaweed salad we both ordered, the Saki and beer until our Sushi order came out, my husband's was mediocre in appearance and taste. My rolls were unappetizing in appearance so I refused to eat them but the waitress suggested I at lease try a piece of each roll, so I went along doing so only to discover I was right, the appearance fitted the taste. So I refused to have the remainder of my dinner. My rolls were $33. for two but looked and tasted displeasing. It was disappointing and I felt bad to refuse eating them as it put a damper on his birthday treat a gift from our daughter. My husband was hungry and chose to eat his but we both felt disappointed.
Made a reservation at Kabooki and when we arrived not only was a table not reserved for us we waited for 30 minutes before we finally left. Made a reservation at another well reviewed restaurant while we were waiting and when we arrived our table was waiting for us, what a concept.
Kabooki Sushi is undeniably the best Sushi in O-Town. The ambiance is perfect, the music is at just the right level for conversation. the restaurant itself has a really sexy feeling.
Every single server here is top notch, we have eaten here many, many times and have encountered nothing but excellent service. I love the knowledge that the servers have about every item on the menu including the specialty cocktails. This last visit was extra special since we waited for seats at the Sushi Bar, SO WORTH IT! The Sushi Chefs are engaging and so much fun to watch. The plating was beautiful and Chef Alonso was awesome! Special Thank You to Darren for taking such good care of us.
Amazing in every way!!
Good place to explore new taste Asian kind, different kinds of sushi & Sashimi
Best sushi in Orlando. Can be a bit pricey but is worth it in my opinion.
Always a great time, reccomend nagiri/sashimi platter
Great environment and customer service. Too notch sushi.
Kabooki does it right every time, chef Henry and chef Long are amazing, pure perfection!!!!
As always, everything was excellent! Our server had great recommendations and everything was fantastic!
