This is our new favorite restaurant! We dream about our next visit! Food quality and service are amazing. Small servings with the perfect blend of fresh veggies and farm to table proteins.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were welcomed by the hostess and seated immediately. Our server, JD, was extremely helpful when describing the menu and different food options and very amicable. The food was phenomenal as were the drinks that JD recommended based on our alcohol preferences. Overall, the experience was great and we will definitely be back to dine here again!
The restaurant was very good but didn’t rank high amongst our dining experiences. The service however was outstanding! Chris was our waiter and I think Archer maybe was the mixologist. They were by far the best staff we experienced while at the Andaz and made the dinner much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.
The watermelon salad was too salty, the pineapple cake too dry and the ambiance of the restaurant just ok.
A little pricey but it is Maui. Food was awesome. Service was awesome. Would definitely eat there again.
The food and cocktails were delicious and our server Carlie was outstanding. Would eat here again without a second thought!
Food was great. Service was HORRIBLE. We asked our server about the mini menu and he said "You figure it out." We had to find other servers to serve us or help us as ours was no where to be found at times. We gave this feedback to the manager... so we hope other people have a better experience than us. I wouldn't go back.
We were so disappointed and were so excited for a special evening! Our service was curt, unfriendly, but efficient. The octopus app was tasty but the fresh catch dinner was very dry. It was my birthday and the table near us got a special candle. The other entree we choose was the tenderloin - tasty but a teeny tiny portion. We had the coconut ice cream dessert which was good, no acknowledgement of our celebration. We spent a great deal for a dinner for two as a special treat. There was absolutely nothing special about this evening, except our own company and the beautiful surroundings.
Very nicely done. Excellent local product integration into menu. Need to update Open Table and online menu to reflect current menu. Good wine options and novel cocktail mixology.
A unique menu with quality food and an amazing view to enjoy a picturesque sunset.
Very nice. The wine list was extensive but quite expensive.
Large noisy and service not great!
Great experience and value for money, always a positive surprise
The food here was very creative and unique. The noise level and ambiance could've been better since there was a luau competing with the music at the bar and then different music in the restaurant. When we asked the server she said they have luau's on Tuesday and Sunday nights so we would choose a different night in the future but would definitely eat here again!
It was absolutely amazing! Food was fabulous and service exemplary!
Unbelievable slow service and underwhelming food. We heard people around us complaining about the slow service, so it wasn’t just our table.
It was ok! Loud bad music
Our waitress was very nice
My wife and I have dined at Ka'ana Kitchen several times for dinner in recent years and each time they raise the culinary bar. Our experience has been consistent on every aspect including ambiance, cocktails, cuisine, and service. This last visit was no different. Our meal defined fine dining. We had the baby romaine salad with smoked pineapple that was absolutely refreshing and black sesame noodles that were flavorful and perfectly seasoned. For her entree, my wife had fried chicken which, although an odd fine dining menu item, was raised to a gourmet cuisine. I had the scallop risotto that was perfectly prepared and seasoned. For dessert, the chocolate mousse with taro chips (yes, that worked) was spectacular. Our great meal was complemented by our outstanding server, Carlie, whose polished but down to earth personality, cuisine knowledge, attentiveness, and professionalism, made it an excellent experience. Ka'ana Kitchen is one of Maui's culinary gems.
Food is Outstanding!!!!! We went 2 nights in a row. Will definitely go back at least 1 more time before our trip back home. Could be the best restaurant on Maui. We still love Mamas though.
Based on the reviews I read, I expected more. Service was fair at best. Food was fine, nothing better.
Gwen provided amazing service. Her wine knowledge and selections were fabulous. The pre-fix menu for Valentine’s Day was scrumptious. Loved dining outside with a sunset view and live music from the outside bar below. Perfect way to celebrate with my husband.
One of the best meals we have ever had. We are going back again before we leave Maui. Archer (bar manager) was especially creative and attentive.
We had so many amazing meals in Wailea... Just not one at Ka'ana Kitchen. Very middle of the road. Desserts looked nice on neighboring tables but we were not compelled to stick around for one.
Excellent food and service. Nice ambience. Great view. Drinks and appetizers and main courses and desserts all first class although maybe a little pricey. I still recommend it though. The view is beautiful, Especially at sunset. The waiter was excellent and very helpful as well.
Delicious food and wonderful service. The kids Mac and cheese was to die for and the water melon salad was so refreshing.
Food wasn’t good.
For our last night on Maui, we wanted great food which would not disappoint. One nice thing about the menu is it is divided in such a way one can enjoy a little bit of this and that. The wagyu hanger steak, grilled octopus salad and scallop risotto were all fantastic. Get the coconut ice cream sundae, pure heaven. We had the same waitress we had when we dined at the Chef’s table which made it seem like we were with old friends. Overall a great meal. The kitchen is efficient and consistent. Each dish is beautifully plated which only adds to this dining enjoyment.
This restaurant represents fine dining at its best. Service is perfect , food is of the highest quality and made with love and respect for the ingredients resulting in creation of award worthy dishes. It is not easy to find special place like this one when you are Ona short trip but when you do, it would be unfair and a shame not to point it out and mention it for others to know. Whatever your plans are during your stay in Wailea , make sure this restaurant is part of it.
The food was excellent. Lots of local selections including lobster, ahi, other fish and pork. Great and liberal use of local fruits and veg. All served beautifully. Service was good and servers were very knowledgeable about the offerings. Though I had to remind my server about a drink he didn’t put it on the bill! Very nice!
It’s a huge modern room and a beautiful hotel and location. But very bright! For a big hotel the meal was impressive.
The place is really beautiful. The staff was super and helpful. Very fun to talk with about the menu selection. The food was very good. You get what you pay for, but it's kinda small portions for me. I felt like the commercial with the brother eating tiny food. No it's not that tiny, but it's so good you want a bigger portion. Ok, I'm not thin to be fair... Anyway, we really enjoyed it and thought it was great. Definitely recommend it, but if you're like me, you may want to get extra! Drinks were great too I should say. And the view..well, wow it's Maui in a great elevated location. Perfect for sunset dinner.
Read great reviews
Server nice but didn’t help us with menu and I could tell she wanted to turn the table
Champagne was room temp
Desert great so
E menu items like Bibb were very expensive and really just lettuce
Too much for a casual spot
No bread service asked if we wanted plates to share etc
At this price I shouldn’t have to ask For a plate
My husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants at home and while on vacation and we agreed that the meal we had here was one of the top 10 meals we’ve had in our 7 years together. We had the watermelon salad, octopus salad, black sesame noodles, and a steak and they were all fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the coconut sundae and the pineapple cake. Definitely worth the price and we would definitely recommend!
Order a watermelon salad, took one bite and saw a bug crawling out. I notified the wait staff who took it away but never brought back a new one AND still charged me for it. I had to asked them to remove.
The food was OK. Fusion is not really my thing. Too much of trying to make a classic dish different- ended up ruining it. It’s really hard to come from a place with such good food because everything else ends up being mediocre.
What a beautiful setting! Inspired food and an award-winning wine list.
What was supposed to be a special night out, was everything but. The view was gorgeous, however when making the reservation, it was not indicated that the Chef tasting menu was available. Additionally, 3 of the 5 dishes we ordered (3 apps and 2 entrees) were not what I was expecting. Looking forward to a fish dish on Maui, the Maui Caught fish, I found it to be incredibly bland. The Berkshire Pork Belly was overwhelmingly citrus, which drowned out everything else. Both the Octopus and Risotto were good, but the rest really left a great deal to be desired.
Food great but so slow. We felt unattended for most of the time
Wonderful food. Involved chef. Good atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant for almost all occasions.
Awesome , best experience ever
We've dined here numerous times and it never disappoints. The service is great, our server JD, was fantastic! The concept is like nothing else on Maui. The view especially at sunset is off the charts. Great choice for special occasion!
Everything was fabulous! Loved the open kitchen!
