Food was good, location the hostess chose for a romantic evening was poor. Food could use an update, we have been coming for years and still 50% of the menu hasn’t changed.
Ka'ana Kitchen is topnotch dining in Wailea. The service is excellent; the food is as good as it gets on Maui. The ambience is lovely. It was easy to make a reservation on Open Table. I will always recommend it to friends and family.
Make note; there is no kama'aina discount, which is disappointing. LR
Four of us had dinner at an outdoor table. Unfortunately, there is a very busy , and very noisy, bar just below us, with live music, making it necessary to yell at each other . The band finished at 9 o'clock, and things quieted down. The drink prices are even higher than those at Mama's Fish House.and food prices as well. The best thing about the dinner was the service. Her name is Carla or Carly. She was excellent. The dishes we had were all excellent also, if too pricey.
Food was delicious. However, it was incredibly overpriced, and the portions were small.
Some of the food here is excellent - the ribeye and risotto were perfect. Other dishes are so-so. The watermelon salad was uninspired and almost all watermelon with very little arugula. The scallop and beet salad was pretty good - scallops overly salty. We had gluten-free chocolate coffee banana dessert that was fantastic. Very small size for sharing but very tasty.
Another evening we dined there, we had a $34 glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that was super chilled and tasted like it had been opened the day before. Very disappointing so we did not order any wine this time.
Very-disappointing! Our table was outside the restaurant with zero ambiance or any feel
You were in a nice restaurant.
Amazing octopus and also clam dish. Like you just caught it from the ocean. Fried chicken was a bit bland like chicken fingers with pineapple salsa.
The food was great and the service kinda a lousy table , the bar couldn’t make a pomegranate martini but they took off the tab which was nice a little over priced
Stunning food but the place doesn’t work during Covid restrictions if you’re sat indoors - there’s no atmosphere, the service was slow, it’s too brightly lit, the tables too far apart even for the restrictions.
Amazing food. We had the Wagyu hangar steak, buttermilk fried chicken, catch of the day, and mushroom risotto. Everything was fantastic. Highly recommend
Why pray tell when a restaurant charges $40 for chicken and $100 for a steak and $20 for a glass of wine would they force me to watch WWF on two large screen TVs? We were in the third row of tables looking toward the ocean. Unfortunately, that also gave us a clear view of the downstair outdoor bar’s large screen televisions, which were showing WWF. As if that was not enough, the images mirrored off the windows in the doors of the restaurant.
Great vegetarian options - the risotto and sweet potato cakes were fantastic.
Wonderful food. Small dinner menu but varied. Big portions
Servers were all friendly and helpful. Restaurant is lovely and we enjoyed seeing the open kitchen. Food and drinks were delicious. Price was a bit high (even for Hawaii) and we had a long delay between appetizers and entrees, which wasn’t ideal for that nice of dining. Would have hoped for more service on that front, but would still recommend.
We enjoyed a truly spectacular dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen. The food was excellent especially my Big Eye Ahi. Our server, Gwen, deserves special recognition for her pleasant efficiency and very helpful advice for both food and wine selections. We will definitely make a return visit to Ka’ana Kitchen when we return to Maui!
Great service and great food
We had an absolutely amazing meal. Our service from Gwen was absolutely perfect. The food was thoughtfully prepared and perfectly executed. Every dish was great from the fun tataki-caprese riff to the mind blowing chocolate rum cake. Any wine list with Paolo Bea by the glass is great in my book. This is a must stop while in maui.
Excellent experience, great cocktails. The daily catch was a sea bass that was amazing. Glad we got to experience this meal.
When we we seated we were not impressed with the atmosphere. It’s not cozy and yet it doesn’t have a vibe. There’s an open kitchen and it was to our backs.
The menu is very small and we can barely eek out a selection. It was so noisy, our waitress missed my order for a salad.
The prices were way higher than the other restaurants in Wailea! The food was not exceptional. I didn’t even eat my dish.
Food seemed overpriced for quantity and quality. Great service. We have been to this restaurant several times and generally leave with same opinion.
Mozzarella tomato ahi tuna appetizer was so salty (and I love salt). Table was two long so felt very distanced. Sticky tables too. Seemed the the restaurant was struggling to find its identity and the staff was disconnected.
Everything at the Ka'an Kitchen exceeded our expectation. The food was excellent and we both ate everything on our plates. I ordered 2 small plates. The watermelon salad with feta cheese and candied walnuts was wonderful and clams small plate had over 20 clams. My husband felt that this restaurant was one of the best we ate at during our 1 week stay in Maui (we booked 6). The table was set in the open air with a gentle breeze and a wonderful sunset with background music from the live combo at the hotel bar (lower lever) added to an enjoyable evening. Service was excellent with a knowledgeable and efficient waiter that added to the perfect evening. Would highly recommend this restaurant
My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by coming to Maui and specifically to eat here! It is our favorite restaurant anywhere. Incredible food. The dishes were perfect. Our waiter, John was awesome, thoughtful and very knowledgeable. We remembered him from an earlier visit there a few years ago. Super memorable night! We’ll be back.
Excellent food, service and location, not much on the menu and over priced I guess we pay for the location
Pleasant dinner, but nothing super memorable from the kitchen. Quite a few loud children screaming didn’t help the vibe, but to be expected at a hotel based restaurant. Had the wagyu steak appetizer. Risotto and Maui Caught Fish as mains. Both mains were fine but not special.
A delicious meal (priced for a special occasion) with a lovely view over the Andaz pools to the Pacific.
Outstanding food, views and wine made for a special evening!
Good place to spend for any special occasions.
My wife and I went there for our last dinner in Maui when we were on our honeymoon and the food was phenomenal. We wanted to get a true Hawaiian food experience and we were not disappointed at all. The service and ambiance was really beautiful overlooking the infinity pools of the resort. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Live music, good ambiance. Food was solid but a little on the expensive side.
Birthday dinner, great ambiance and spectacular views! The food was to die for, we highly recommend the watermelon salad, ahi tataki, big ahi and Maui caught fish options!
Fantastic food, service and drinks.
Great meal and service
Seems like they were short many servers which is understandable given the time. I finished my meal before anyone came to ask how the food was. Which at a nice and more expensive restaurant like Ka’ana kitchen you expect someone to check on you after a few bites in. Also ordered a second drink and 10 minutes later they came to apologize on the delay, but with no drink in their hand.
I’m happy to pay a high price for a good meal and good experience but overall was disappointed in the experience. Food was good and happy with that part of the evening.
Been here several times over the years now. This place never disappoints us. Food here is EPIC!
Service and setting were fabulous.
We had the beet salad (excellent), octopus salad (good), risotto (excellent) and the fried chicken (good).
Enjoy at sunset for an very enjoyable experience.
Good was absolutely delicious
We had a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary! Our waiter Weiser took amazing care of us. Everything that Chef Chance and his crew made was fantastic! Loved the entire evening! Mahalo Nui Loa!
