This restaurant ruined my daughter’s birthday with horrible service. Our waiter was ignorant and rude. He just walked around our table and made us wait for our check, and everything. We had to call manager to complain and the manager in the restaurant at march 31 7pm was not helpful. There are so many things to mention. They bring you a birthday cake but table is full of dirty dishes? We asked all food to arrive same time because my daughter does not eat otherwise, and they ignored this. Our check simply tool 15 mins to get and pay. We mentioned this to our hotel (four seasons) concierge and our driver. Our driver told us they heard similar complaints, bottom line, food was good but experience was worst in maui. Go to anywhere for better service., don’t waste your money here
A magicical, lively atmosphere. The food was very good with a couple of exceptions: the watermelon in the salad was cut much too early so it was wilted, and the ice cream in the pavlova dessert was a flavour that didn’t complement the rest of the dish. The other dishes were excellent.
Fun restaurant in a modern kitchen style design. Unique dishes and good service!
It’s a menu that may be difficult to navigate, but put it down and trust your server and the chef...every bite was outstanding. Our table gave us a view of the kitchen as well as the ocean and was perfect. The flavors and presentation were fantastic. One of our favorite meals this time in Maui! Can’t wait to return.
Unbelievable service. Our waiter was so knowledgeable about their offerings. All food sourced from the islands and you know it. Prepared exquisitely. Bring your biggest critic. They will leave smiling!
We had our anniversary dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen and it was spectacular. The best tip I received from a friend was to book right before sunset, and the view was incredible. The food was delicious, and I loved the farm to table aspect. The wait staff was attentive, and even sent us two glasses of champagne for our special occasion. When we come back to Maui, we will definitely be making our way back here!
Wonderful experience. Everything exceeded our expectations, from our outstanding server, John, to the wonderful feeling of the room, exceptional view, spot on cocktails and desserts that didn’t disappoint. We would highly recommend this for any special occasion. This restaurant has such a wonderful flow, it was a relaxing culinary experience. We enjoyed the grilled romaine, watermelon salad, fried chicken, ahi plate, wagyu sirloin, three different desserts and all was excellent.
Overpriced. Found nylon or plastic string in “hush puppies”. They deducted the hush puppies from the meal and gave a free appetizer. Still ridiculously expensive for the food quality / quantity. Service was good and can’t beat the ocean views. If you are at Andaz go to Morimoto instead.
Excellent food and service! Friendly staff and the food came out very quickly. The Ahi was the best!
Very loud...overpriced! Average food.
Amazing! Great food! Great service! Great view!
Food was good but service was just Ok. Served us from behind our table instead of in front as would be expected...passed us the food. No dish for shells as we ordered the mussels. Basic levels of service just not there. Also expensive for what you get.
Exceptional meal! Service on point with DR
Attentive and made great recommendations. Best meal in Maui.
We really enjoyed the waiter John, he was funny personable and being professional at the same time.
Food and service are excellent. We had dinner there twice.
Amazing menu and wonderful food. Fabulous drinks. Beautiful views. Great service! Loved it.
Ka’ana was spectacular! The ambiance was outstanding and the food didn’t disappoint. I even ordered the same dessert twice. The entrees were divine, and I am still dreaming about the watermelon salad. The sunset over the beach was gorgeous. Will definitely go back the next time we visit Maui!
We ate here 3 times while in Wailea, once for brunch and dinner the others. All times were great. Menu pays a lot of homage to Hawaiian and Asian fusion cuisine while still being creative. Service was great. Food is pricey but that's par for the course in Wailea. Brunch was worth the $50 per person as well.
We are here on our last night in Maui and it was definitely a memorable and delicious meal!
Food was delicious and extremely courteous service. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or celebration. However, I did note on my reservation through open table AND call ahead of time to let Ka’ ana Kitchen know we were celebrating a birthday. The message never made it to our server. It would have been nice if he had known to say happy birthday. I brought my own candle and the server lit it for our dessert.
If you like fresh simplicity, this restaurant is for you. Very little spice or fruit is used to flavor the meat or fish. Our main entrees were very bland. On the other hand, I ordered the watermelon salad. This was a wedge of fruit topped with lots of feta cheese, which completely overpowered any watermelon flavor. The desserts were delightful and served as the highlight of our meal. We also appreciated this restaurant's approach with use of locally sourced and sustainable foods. Not enough though to entice a return visit.
The entrance walkway with water on either side and then the beautiful staircase down to Ka’ana was an incredible start. The service was very attentive without being hovering. Food was very good. Loved how we were able to share everything. I cannot say a negative thing. Even the restroom was above par.
2 out of 4 dishes were under-seasoned. A third tomato-ahi dish featured tomatoes that were flavorless and tough, and bland ahi. The fried chicken dish was actually decent, although not transcendent. This restaurant is priced as if it’s an amazing culinary experience, and it is not at all. Not even close to being worth the money.
I always get the octopus appetizer, it's the most tender and flavorful octopus I've ever had, definitely a favorite. The ahi was bland with the cauliflower and bacon jam, sounded better than it tasted. Scallop risotto was very good, lots of flavor and scallop seared perfectly, juicy and tender. The margarita was too smokey for me, left a bad taste almost chemical but my friend liked it. Overall kind of spendy but if you get the right combination definitely worth the $$
As ever, the food at Ka'ana Kitchen was delicious and unusual. I especially liked the compressed and infused watermelon salad with goat cheese. So light and refreshing! My fish was perfectly cooked in a tasty lightly spiced reduction. The staff is always attentive yet not intrusive; we love to return to Ka'ana Kitchen several times each vacation for dinner! Highly recommend for freshness, comfort, and service.
Food was incredible! Everything we ordered was fantastic. We had the opportunity to sit at the chef’s table and Chef Jonathan was gracious enough to come by and say hello. An extraordinary meal and a real highlight of our trip (special shout out to Sy and John for their terrific and exceptionally warm service).
Very nice environment - waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was very good
Ka'ana Kitchen is one of Maui's best fine dining restaurants. The cocktails are creative, sophisticated, and well-balanced. I had their version of an old-fashioned which was made of rum versus bourbon. Despite my initial skepticism, it was delicious. The food is exceptional. It is fresh, well seasoned, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. My wife had the fried chicken which was highly recommended by the server. He was spot on with his recommendation - my wife thought it was the better than any fried chicken on the mainland. And to top things off, we had the best service experience on Maui. Our server was personable, fun, interesting, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. All in all, if you're seeking a fine dining experience on Maui, I'd recommend it without hesitation.
Service was great and the food was even better. Everything we had was delicious. The atmosphere is fabulous as well. Must go in Maui
We enjoyed our dinner at Ka'ana Kitchen. The staff was very friendly and our waiter JD did an excellent job. The food was delicious as we shared our appetizers and entree's family style. I really enjoyed the Seared scallops over risotto.
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and he wanted to keep it simple. So JD was nice to just have our dessert with just Happy Birthday written on the plate which was perfect.
Food was amazing, service was just really poor. We were seated 20 minutes past our reservation and then another 40 minutes until we saw a waiter. Food was delicious though!
Food was fantastic. My new favorite place for a special night out in the Wailea-Kihei area.
Wanted a nice restaurant for Valentines Day which is also our anniversary, been here before and loved it. Was caught off guard by a special menu for the night with no other options. Was not mentioned at time of booking. Turned out to be fairly expensive. Otherwise we enjoyed our night very much.
Best meal we have ever had.
Minimalist food, Maximus price, poor service. Most overpriced meal ever experienced.
Everything was so delicious and fresh! And, the space was beautiful. We made reservations to go again before we leave the island.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Fried chicken was amazing. A bit on the pricey side (it's Maui--what else is new) but the outstanding service and great setting more than made up for it.
Exceptional!
Food was average and expensive.
