K Town Bistro is a gem . It could easily be in B town Bethesda.
Excellent food great service & no hustle.
Amazing food! Relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Great service.
We went during the coronavirus situation. The restaurant was very reassuring and cautious, providing a hand-sanitizer at our table, informing us of the precautions being applied in the kitchen and when preparing our food, and cleaning the table and area after the meal was completed. We felt very comfortable and as safe as is possible in these times.
Absolutely brilliant as always. My wife and I love this restaurant and the friendly staff.
It's a hidden gem and my favourite restaurant.
Great ambiance, you can hear your conversation. The food is great and very reasonably priced. The service is always top quality.
Wonderful casual French restaurant in the heart of old town Kensington. I'm telling my friends about this place. We had a wonderful time.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant, cozy and charming. The fish entrees were superb.
Scallops were large and perfectly cooked with an interesting shrimp sauce. Rainbow trout was another excellent choice. The menu is varied and portion size generous.
Old fashioned, upscale, small neighborhood place with upscale service, decent menu and quality food that way surpasses what you would think of as a neighborhood place. Will be back.
the place was very busy, which contributed to a noise level higher than what we had experiences on week nights. Everything else was very good, as usual.
As always a diverse choice of delicious items.
Hard to find even with the GPS - signage not clear and parking is a challenge. But once you get inside, this small neighborhood restaurant was worth the challenge. Food is well prepared and served beautifully. I had the been stroganoff and enjoyed it. My friend asked for a substitution in her disk of chicken for beef, and they immediately said that was fine. That's my benchmark of a good restaurant to be willing to make recipe adjustments. She also had the French onion soup and enjoyed it. Fresh, warm bread started us out - loved it. Would highly recommend.
Brunch was FABULOUS - my steak and eggs were perfectly cooked and so delicious. My wife free-range chicken was also delicious. And best of all, chocolate mousse dessert is always amazing. The service - impeccable in every way. We'll be back!
Sunday brunch could not be better tho parking must always be a factor in Kensington
A nice petite neighborhood restaurant with good service and good food.
My wife and I have had many wonderful experiences at KTown. We went with another couple this past Saturday evening at 6:30 pm. KTown, a relatively small restaurant, was very crowded, noisy, and was missing a server. Perhaps that is why the attentiveness and service was not up to its usual standards. Food was, as always, outstanding. We still plan to continue patronizing KTown, just going during the week or arriving earlier on Saturday evenings.
Staff is first rate and the location is cozy.
For a last minute late evening meal this was perfect. Always enjoy thus bistro for good food and service.
Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Thank you!!!
This restaurant was more than I expected. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The only thing that surprised me was that the tip included on my bill was not charged to me. I called K Town Bistro and told them what had transpired the night before with the bill and they said the tip would be added later. I know how hard the waitresses work. So I am more than happy to send in the $30.00 dollar tip.

The food is always first rate. We had short ribs and blackened salmon (with ratatouille). They were both perfectly done. The beet salad is extraordinary. The potato/leak soup was a bit more ordinary. Gonzalez (chef/owner) is a perfect host. One can't praise this place enough.
I’m sorry we waited so long to eat here! Lots of nice choices on the menu- made it hard to decide. Service was very good. Cozy neighborhood setting but nice enough for special occasion.
We were a group of 9 and luckily it was a quiet Sunday because we were so loud. This was an outstanding experience for everyone in our group. The service, flexibility and food was truly outstanding. It is a must for us to return. Thank you for a very pleasant experience. Your prices were very competitive.
Appetizers and main courses were all very tasty and would rate from very good to excellent. Main courses we had were the swordfish (special), ahi tuna and short ribs. Portions were not large but that turned out to be a saving grace as the desserts were out of this world. One of the more quieter restaurants we have been to recently which allowed us to converse in normal voices. The service was excellent. Will be back again.
Very nice brunch and tasty food
Our first visit was uneven. Appetizers were better than entrees especially the dark and flavorful onion soup. Will return for a second visit.
Superb dining. Gonzalo Junior was very warm and welcoming; willing to accommodate our need for something quick.
The wait staff was warm and friendly. The atmosphere was a bit musty and the food was lackluster for the price. I would go back for the prix fixe specials.
As usual, the food was excellent and we had a wonderful time. I apologize for the noise level, which is usually subdued, because we had an exuberant birthday celebration party of eight and the mimosas flowed rather freely to some of us. As one who spent his childhood in Kensington, I am delighted to brag that there now is a first rate restaurant in our midst.
I took my friend to K Town Bistro to celebrate her birthday. We had a delicious meal with excellent service. It was busy, but quiet enough to talk at a reasonable decibel. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Can always count on KTown for great food, service, ambiance, professionalism
Everything about this tiny quiet restaurant is excellent. I brought friends for lunch yesterday. They had two different vegetarian dishes while I had an excellent and unusual pasta with chicken. Service is efficient and gentle. Right next door to a quirky and equally friendly used/antiquarian bookstore.
Loved everything about this restaurant. It's a low key, unpretentious french bistro. The food was delicious, service was very attentive but unobtrusive. You could talk in a normal voice...It is moderately prices and a lovely, privately owned restaurant. We had the special soup which was a cream free vegan spinach soup and it was excellent. We also had the blackened salmon, rib eye beef. Both were large portions and excellently prepared. We had the apple crisp... like a cobble for dessert. Can't wait to return to our new find!
Lamb shank, scallops & cheese cake are always a safe bet.
Outstanding food and service in a very nice atmosphere.
I've been to K Town Bistro a number of times and find that the food and service are consistently good.
Owners were waiting the tables! Very pleasant! They are a father & son team. I had lamb shanks & they just fell off the bone. Would highly recommend
K town provides a superb dining experience. We come often and frequently bring friends, All have enjoyed the outstanding service, food and ambiance. K Town is a real winner and worth the trip if you do not live close by.
New Year’s Eve. Lovely evening— intimate, historic, friendly, elegant yet humble. Everything was really well done— delicious salads. We were just a little underwhelmed by the flavor of the pork loin and sides.
We are local and first time trying this place. Food, service , wine and the atmosphere was perfect for early New Years eve dinner. Excellent! We will come back and will recommend .We enjoyed!
Cute cozy nicely decorated restaurant with dependable food. They had a different menu for New Year’s Eve, which had some different items than their regular menu, but which also retained some of their usual fare. Complimentary bread just so-so for a French restaurant, but butter fabulous. My husband & I had the pan fried trout with garlic spinach & risotto. I lived the risotto & spinach, but found the trout a little bland. Our waiter, whose name I do not know, but who has worked there regularly, was a bit snooty. We asked for Prosecco to drink & he said they didn’t have any & seemed condescending when he told us it was a dessert wine. We are not big drinkers & we felt miffed by his attitude. This is why I gave it only 4 stars. However, still worth trying.
