The food is always very good--even creative--and the proportions excellent. The service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful. This is at least my 8th time eating here.

The food here is excellent -- I had escargot as an appetizer and beef stroganoff as my entrée, and my husband and I split the crème brulee for dessert. All were delicious. The prices are reasonable. The service was professional, attentive and quick.

We were visiting my husband’s brother and his family and we are from Toronto. We were also celebrating our 27th anniversary so we decided to go to a local restaurant. This place did not disappoint at all from service to food. it’s location added to the quaintness and specialness of the place.

This is a wonderful little restaurant with a great menu of carefully prepared entrees. We go here every time we go out for an evening to attend a play at the Kensington Arts Theater just three blacks away from the K Town Bistro. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere perfect if you want to have a nice quiet conversation while eating.

3 in our party, got there early for our reservation and they had the table ready. Hubby ordered the $30 ribeye and said he’s never had a worse steak. The birthday girl ordered the caprese salad which was wonderful. I ordered the orange almond salad which was mostly romaine, very few oranges and avocado and even less almonds. Ladies ordered the beef stroganoff and the noodles were fettuccine or linguine rather than wide egg noodles, the sauce was very thick and the beef was old. My friend ate two to three bites and when asked if she wanted a take home box, declined. $50 for two orders of mediocre beef stroganoff, a French staple. Very confused about the reviews for this place. We love to support local businesses so we are additionally bummed.

This is a small quiet restaurant in the Antiques Row of Kensington. Somewhat eclectic menu with emphasis on French dishes. We shared a mixed green salad which was just right. I had Beef Stroganoff and my wife had the trout special. Both delicious served very hot. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tasty food, but rude and pushy patrons made dining there an unpleasant experience. We had a 7:00 reservation, and, while we were waiting patiently in line to be seated, two other parties shoved their way to the front of the line so they could be seated before us. When we protested, the receptionist shrugged and said that they had reservations, too. As a result, we were given a table where we could only sit diagonally across from each other. We won't be back!

Easter dinner with my daughter. Menu had a nice variety of options - even though it was pared down for Easter. Their green salad is a favorite with greens, avocado? Gist cheese, onion and a light dressing. We both had rockfish which was beautifully prepared with a small mound of couscous and fresh asparagus steamed to maintain its structure. Portions were appropriate- allowing just enough room for dessert and coffee. Cheesecake with crepe anglaise and a mango mousse cake were tasty finishes. Service is always superb. Peaceful atmosphere with white tablecloths and silver overlooking a a Kensington side street.

Excellent food- -interesting flavor combinations well prepared, attentive service, and a lovely, quaint room. What's not to like? It may have helped that we ate early to get to our concert in good time, so the restaurant was almost empty, but all the elements for fine dining were there. A great place for dinner before a Strathmore concert.

It could have been a five star rating, but I had problems giving such a rating to a place that uses paper tablecloths on top of cloth ones. The food was wonderful!

I cannot believe we have not been here before. It is close to home and a really nice meal. The steak was cooked perfectly as were the scallops. My husband was not as excited about the stroganoff as he hoped but still enjoyed it. The dessert was delish too! Attentive staff and a quiet place to eat and enjoy the evening. This place is simple and simple was just what we needed but with high-end food that was cooked to perfection.

This is a very small place so the noise can travel at times, and I recommend strongly that you get reservations. This is a favorite place to bring customers as well as enjoy personally as the food is always great, cooked to order which does take a little longer. One of the few places that gets French Onion soup right!

This is not a place to duck into for a quick bite. The service is cordial and assiduous, but it is a more leisurely dining experience.

We love the casual European café feel of this intimate restaurant. Most tables comfortably seat either 2 or 4 guests, one table seats 6 well. 3 of us had the cod special and the fish was well-cooked, but quite moist. The prime rib was also well appreciated. Reservations are recommended on a Saturday night, and probably other nights as well.
