K restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My wife have eaten at K numerous times over the past several years. The experience has always been superb. The food is fresh and delicious, the menu is creative, and the owner/chef ensures the service is friendly, helpful, and attentive. We can recommend K enthusiastically and unconditionally.
My husband and I have gone to K for special occasions for years. This was for our anniversary. Our waiter was very cordial, the new owner came out to greet us, and the wine selection was excellent. We arrived on time to a very lightly filled restaurant but were seated adjacent to a large party. We heard more of their conversation than our own. The waiters had to squeeze between my husband’s chair and the back of one of the other table’s guests to deliver plates to the rest of the room. I asked him if he wanted to move but he declined. Our food was well prepared but took a long time to arrive. Mine was barely warm. I didn’t return it because I was tired of waiting. I hate to leave a negative review because I really like this restaurant but my experience on this occasion was not as satisfactory as previous ones.
K has been a place I have wanted to try for a year! My son and daughter-in-law took me recently for my birthday and it was an incredible experience for all of us. From the printed Birthday menu to the complimentary champagne and dessert, it was flawless. Service was excellent without hovering, the food was unlike anything we have had before and the ambience was very comfortable yet elegant. I have already recommended to several people and plan on returning for happy hour soon.
Our experience was phenomenal!! Service and atmosphere were great but the food was what we raved about! Started with the pork belly appetizer which was small but perfectly cooked and rich. I enjoyed the duck breast with farrow and roasted vegetables and it was delicious! I can not wait to return!
We were there for our Christmas company Celebration and we had a really great time. The food was fabulous, the deserts (we shared one of each) were to die for and the service was great. I would highly recommend K for any occasion, special or otherwise.
There were a few negatives that were not addressed prior to us checking out. However, these shouldn’t stop you from going, just be aware. A specialty drink was ordered and returned due to taste and another ordered to replace it. The one returned was not removed from the bill. Although it is not unexpected to have a tip added to a large group (there were six of us), it was not brought to my attention that this would occur. Lastly, at the end of our meal we were still enjoying conversing when a staff member asked us to vacate the table since their next group had arrived. They did offer to buy the group a drink at the bar (which really meant outside since there isn’t much of a bar.) I have never had that happen to me before and we all were taken aback. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that there was a time limit.
It had been a few years since we were here the last time and it was very nice how the owner greeted us at the door and later in the evening as we were finishing up our dinner. The desserts are fanastic loved ALL of the seasonal ones. Server was great to just took a little long to get started with serves. Would go back again.
This was our first time trying K. We were really impressed with the quality of the food, the wine selection and the knowledgeable wait staff. When I booked our reservation, I mentioned in the comment that it was our anniversary. When we sat at our table they had printed our special menus with "Happy 21st Anniversary". We were really touched.
I really enjoy the service, attention, and care this restaurant gives. The owner checked with us once and the waiter was so cool and informative. The food was really good. We had the ravioli and duck dishes. I'm not a fan of duck but they made it perfectly. The fried green tomatoes and brussel sprouts were outstanding. They give you a ton of brussel spouts.
If I could be critical of anything which is silly in this case it would be their logo with the red K for K restaurant reminds me of K-Marts. And of course K-mart is known for cheap and poor quality in my opinion. And the font on the menus remind me of K-mart. Other than that I love the format and style of the menu. The food is on the pricier side overall but it wouldn't deter me to recommend it or go again. It was a treat.
I travel a lot, and eat well wherever I go. And then I come home a go to K's and confirm that great dining is alive and well in Orlando. Unlike the cavernous food mills of south Orlando, K's is local, intimate and convenient to downtown, ie: easy from anywhere in Orlando. But go for the food. Trust me , just go for the food.
I mentioned in my open table reservation that the occasion was my birthday. My party was offered complimentary champagne, and I received a complimentary dessert! The staff was exceptionally cordial and attentive, and the chef came by near the end of our meal to ensure everything was satisfactory, and to mention some upcoming events planned for the restaurant. The food was uniformly excellent, and the prices were very reasonable for a high-quality dining experience.
What a fantastic experience at the K Restaurant my husband and I had on Saturday night after attending Get Off Your Feet Show at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. This was our first visit to the K Restaurant and we were not disappointed! Farm to table specialties were outstanding: the fried green tomatoes and scallop appetizers were exceptional, my hubby had the mac and cheese main course and I had the swordfish. Yummy Chef Chad, who visited our table on a number of occasions! Our waiters were incredibly attentive and taught us all about our choices and local farmers. All in all a 5 star meal for us and we will be back soon for another visit as we live in Kissimmee! Cyn and Chris
First time there with new mgt. and chef and was not disappointed. The food is still fantastic - our group of six had the fillet, venison, duck, and swordfish and all the dishes were delicious with a lovely presentation. They seem to be embarking on some good changes/additions, especially in the courtyard. Will be back!
This was the third time my wife and I had dined at K and the new owners have done a great job. The food is just as good (and eclectic) as the original restaurant (if not better). If there are quibbles, they're very minor. Their liquor license hasn't gone through yet, but our server said that should be done by the end of October 2017. Ambience in the main room can be noisy if you're near a large party (we had a table of 12 next to us). And as always, parking is... challenging. One last thing to note, in the category of cost, I'd put K in a three $$$ category, not a $$. It's nothing extravagant, but when you have a $50+ steak on the menu, that ain't exactly cheap. Great place - book early as reservations fill up quickly.
K's recently changed owners and he stopped by for a friendly chat. Says the chef and staff are the same an he has no major change to the menu. Several items we ordered from the menu were modified from the internet menu...hurricane impacts maybe? The food and service were still great. We all loved the fried green tomatoes with crab dressing. My beet salad was delicious although the fruit compliment was not orange but still tasty. Three of us had the haddock, a moderate sized grilled fillet with a delicious sweet corn dressing and a slightly crunchy grilled broccoli head.
K has a new owner/head chef and he is FABULOUS! I was not disappointed in anything and my old favorites are still my favorites! I started with the deviled eggs and had the Red Grouper as my entrée. I will be going back soon. I did find out something new this go around. They are able to use the next door property/buildings for large parties/catered events. Good to know!
Chad, the new executive chef, came to our table to inquire about our experience and share a bit about recent changes/updates and plans for the restaurant. The front of the house served our table, and was very knowledgeable about the wine list (which I believe he put together), and was happy to answer questions. Very welcoming, and laid back dining experience. Definitely plan to return!
8 p.m. dinner. The food was delicious and exactly correct portions, house pasta, fried tomatoes and quail. Decent beer and wine selection. The cocktail menu was fabulously creative. But it's the little things that make for a good review. Our server did not offer bread until after our cocktails arrived and we had ordered dinner. Then it didn't show up; we had to remind him. It arrived half way through dinner. No one offered coffee; we had to ask. Noise level high enough we were leaning across the table to hear each other
Overall, very good. Fantastic wine list and they currently have a special going on through October where every bottle of wine is $10 off. A group of friends and I ate there in conjunction with magical dining month. ( $35 for 3 courses at a variety of fine dining restaurants throughout the orlando metropolitan area... ) The potato & leek soup was spot on. Creamy and perfectly seasoned. The gnocchi came with a light but very tasty sauce. The only problem was that ( as it seems with virtually any and all pasta at restaurants in the USA .... ) it was a bit soft. A little more al dente would've made it near perfect. Finally, the blackberry cheescake for dessert was quite good if not outstanding. I'd definitely go here again with or without magical dining.
My wife and I tried this restaurant fkr Olando Magical Dining. My wife had the Ceviche, Teres Major and bread pudding. I had the Wedge Salad, Tetes Major and cheesecake of the day. From start fo finish the food was Outstanding. Tbe steak was better than any we have ever had. We will definitely refer thus retaurant and go again!
