In 1979, when Chef Paul Prudhomme and his late wife, K, opened their "modest", 62-seat K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen on Chartres Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, they had no idea the restaurant was soon to become a sensation, with nightly lines of eager diners waiting sometimes hours to be seated. That was back when and dining was community seating. In 1996, extensive renovations took place and now it offers seating for more than 200. Dining areas include seasonal balcony dining, an intimate climate-controlled courtyard for dining al fresco, K's Parlor private seating as well as open kitchens on both floors. K-Paul's accepts reservations and offers catering on-site or anywhere around the world.
Executive Chef Paul Miller goes to great lengths to ensure the highest quality food. We have 3 kitchen and a bakery and the philosophy and commitment to excellence will never change.
Chef Paul and the entire staff cordially welcome you to join us for lunch or dinner!

Went for my wife's birthday, and exceeded my expectations. I've never had such an amazing pork chop. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. We will be coming back when we are in town.

Excellent food and excellent service. The fired oysters with dill and caper sauce was exceptionally delicious, as was the duck, shrimp, andouille St. Rose.

Annual trip to Nee Orleans and K-Paul’s never disappoints. Turtle soup was rich and flavorful. Blackened pork chop was nicely done with a cleverly creole seasoned deconstructed baked potato. Don’t pass up the opportunity!

I would love to improve on the reviews of this restaurant, the food and the staff, everything was perfect. , If you get a chance to sit outside on the 2nd floor balcony, definitely adds an entire dimension to the experience.

Excellent food! We leave bed everything we ordered! Fried green tomatoes - terrific sauce with shrimp! Rabbit - had never had rabbit, wonderful! Chicken gumbo - was ok...not a favorite...wasn’t served hot enough either. Flounder with a shrimp sauce - fantastic! Filets - best filets we’ve had in a long time! Outstanding meal!

Extraordinary, authentic Cajun/Creole cuisine from the kitchen of Paul Prudhomme, the ultimate master of this kinds of food. Perfect service, preparation, and ambiance. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Service was good, the restaurant was good, the bread was very good, but the entrees were lacking. Our family bad 2 days in NOLA, so it was a bit of a let down. Nonetheless, they were nice and again, the bread was really good!

This restaurant was founded by one of America's truly great chefs, Paul Prudhomme, who passed away 3 years ago but whose culinary influence lives on at the restaurant he founded in the French Quarter. The best jambalaya we had in New Orleans, and delicious fried oysters and blackened fish. Steak with debris sauce is awesome. Also great desserts, such as bread pudding and his signature sweet potato pecan pie, and coffee with a delicious Chantilly cream.

Menu very good- tough to choose! Suggest some friendlier Maitre d’s. Both up and downstairs a bit crusty. Bunch of kids thrown upstairs also.. which detracted a bit from nice meal.

My husband and I visited New Orleans many years ago and had an amazing dinner at K-Paul's. We reminisced about that meal for over 3 decades so when we had the opportunity to visit NOLA again we promptly booked a dinner at K-Paul's. The service was exceptional and the meal was absolutely incredible! Now that we are retired we intend to visit NOLA on a regular basis and dinner at K-Paul's will always be on the itinerary.

A must stop when in New Orleans. Always high quality food with attention to detail. An education on cajun cuisine based in traditional cooking technique with added elegance. Any lover of food history should take the time to learn the history of Paul Prudhomme, his contribution to exposing the world to traditional Louisiana cooking and breaking stereotypes of cajun and creole cuisine. It is always a treat to experience his restaurant and the dishes he has left to be shared. The staff and Paul Miller do an excellent job keeping the tradition alive.

The best experience! Sheila our server was OUTSTANDING! She. Made a fun night even more memorable. Shrimp ettouffe phenomenal and the blackened drum was to die for. And the Caesar salad is the best I’ve had in my life. We hit this place our first night in NOLA every visit.

This was the worst meal we had in NOLA. Do not eat here unless you are looking for a TGIF knockoff. The menu and decor are tired. The fish was palatable, everything else had the exact same flavor profile with a different level of sweet. No spice, no heat. We asked our server for recommendations and she had none. We should have taken that as a sign to leave. It was a huge disappointment. Go anywhere else but here.
