In 1979, when Chef Paul Prudhomme and his late wife, K, opened their "modest", 62-seat K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen on Chartres Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, they had no idea the restaurant was soon to become a sensation, with nightly lines of eager diners waiting sometimes hours to be seated. That was back when and dining was community seating. In 1996, extensive renovations took place and now it offers seating for more than 200. Dining areas include seasonal balcony dining, an intimate climate-controlled courtyard for dining al fresco, K's Parlor private seating as well as open kitchens on both floors. K-Paul's accepts reservations and offers catering on-site or anywhere around the world.
Executive Chef Paul Miller goes to great lengths to ensure the highest quality food. We have 2 kitchens and a bakery and the philosophy and commitment to excellence will never change.

Dining at K-Paul’s is never a bad choice. My meal tonight, blackened drum preceded by the fried green tomato appetizer, was one of the five best meals of my life!

Good restaurant,food outstanding, boudin sausage starter was warm rather than hot though and arrived much too quickly, we had only just been served the bread and the wine had not arrived, when we complained to the waiter Zac he just shrugged his shoulders and was not prepared to do anything about it, thus poor amateurish service.
Everything else great, main course eggplant seafood pirogue was superb and dessert pecan pumpkin pie the same.
Please KPaul’s get your service sorted out, it’s letting you down!

We were a party of 3 that apparently ended up placing our order right after a very large party and it took a very long time to receive our food. The waiter was very apologetic, I knew he felt bad but assured us it would be worth the wait. He even told my husband he wound not need a knife for his steak. Well that wasn't true. I had the pork chop and it was good but not great. For the price and experience we had I cannot recommend.

First time at K-Paul's - the best part was our waiter Sam. He was the best waiter I have ever had in my entire life. The food was so good and fresh and hot and delicious. Will definitely be back!!

Extremely long delay between salad and main course. Main courses arrived on cold plates and food was either cold or barely warm. Server who brought reheated food (not original server) just dropped the plate in front of the diner without a word of apology.

It had been more than 25 years since I had been to K-Paul's but the food quality has not diminished since Chef Prudhomme's passing. I had the fried green tomato and shrimp remoulade appetizer and delighted in the balance of the heat of the creole spices and slight sweetness. I had brought a well aged wine from my collection, and the wine service was wonderful with a very reasonable ($24 ) corkage fee. The blackened stuffed pork chop was superb. Whoever was working the sautee' station prepared the haricot verts to perfection. My only disappointment was the bread pudding. More sugar than bread and that made it too cloyingly sweet to be able to fully enjoy or finish.
My waiter Edgar and bus person Darrius were superb, friendly and genuinely concerned that I have a positive experience at K-Paul's.

K-Paul’s was wonderful! Extremely generous portions of terrific cuisine! Our server Kieffer was the best. He was very friendly & attentive. I will definitely request him on my next visit.

Outstanding! Flavors and textures were spot on. View of the street and the people watching was great but the food, that was the pize. The only thing to disappoint was desert. The cream brulee was too small and the top was too hard and too thick, still good but nowhere near as good as the main coarse.

This is our FAVORITE New Orleans restaurant! Always on point with the flavors and excellent service! We are former New Orleans residents, so we've tried them all and K-Paul's is consistently the best.

Only, the appetizers were spot-on (fried green tomatoes and fried oysters in cool capers and dill sauce), but the mains were not quite as good (eggplant pirogue and flounder with shrimp etouffe)- the proteins were over-done.

We had a fantastic meal and overall experience with Sheila and Sam! Can't wait to come back sometime and will 100% be recommending to anyone I know traveling to NOLA. We received the recommendation to go here from our New Orleans Secrets Food Tour guide Roger and we are so grateful!

From the moment we walked in the service was outstanding. We were very pleased with how we were welcomed into K Pauls.
Our server was outstanding.
He was among the very best we have ever experienced.
The food was fantastic.

Blackened drum was excellent; enough for two ladies to share. Bread basket was yummy, especially the carrot cake muffins! Fresh vegetables very good; would have preferred roasted potatoes instead of creamy mashed potatoes. Overall meal was delicious! Server was very knowledgeable and friendly.

The food was amazing! We started with the fried crab fingers and I had the fried chicken with shrimp. Even the vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Definitely recommend!

Food was amazing but they set us at table 84 next to a birthday party which was to very Loud and we order food before them but we got our food after them. I really like k Paul’s but I don’t know if I’ll come back there for my birthday dinner or recommend someone there just left a bad thoughts on my mind. Oh yeah my daughter chicken breast was not cook.

We went in on time. The place was about half full when we were seated and handed menus. The waitress attending to the table next to us smiled at us at least 3 times as she walked by. We set our menus down as a sign that we were ready to order. We sat there unattended for well over 15 minutes. I know because our reservation was for 630, and we got up and walked out at 650. I stopped at the hostess' station and stated " we sat unattended for 15 minutes and we are leaving." I received no apologies all the 2 ladies at the desk said was okay. Now the menu appeared fixed but interesting. My wife was going to try rabbit for the 1zt time... but since we are both professionals who have previously worked in tbe restaurant business her for4 years and myself for 15, we didnt want to stay somewhere we were not well received nor felt welcomed. Its unfortunate, Chef Prudhomme was one of the reasons i worked in the business as a young man

One of our favorite restaurants in the City. We have been here several and food never disappoints. If you are not from NOLA and don’t like bold WELL SEASONED food and prefer bland seasoning and spice this is not for you. Everything is good here!!! Even the bread is awesome! Turtle soup is delicious!

Celebrated my birthday with dinner at K-Paul's. My guest and I ordered the surf and turn special (blackened drum and filet mignon). The carrot/pecan and cornbread muffins were divine. The dinner was spectacular. The creme brulee dessert was unique and absolutely delicious! Having our photo taken in the kitchen was a delightful added touch.

My wife and I dined here on Saturday the 24th. She had the soft shell crab pasta and I had the flounder. Both of them were recommended by our waiter Grayson. The service was fantastic, it was not really noisy but we were upstairs so you heard the kitchen. It seemed louder on the first level. We will definitely go again our next time in New Orleans.

Our experience surpassed our already high expectations. This restaurant is everything it is cracked up to be, and more. The food was delicious, and huge portions. The service was marvelous. The ambiance of the open kitchen made it even more special. Kudos! You made Paul proud.

Awesome, the staff very knowledgeable. The host wish my sister-in-law Happy Birthday when we arrived, even though I though she was going to get a free desert she didn't.
Food was excellent. We love K-Pauls, & we will be back.
