We went to 18 Oaks for our 30th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. We were staying at the JW Marriott Hill Country resort so it was conveniently located at the resort. The dinner was amazing. Our server (Casey) was outstanding and helped walk us through the menu with great descriptions of the food options. This is not an inexpensive place...but the experience was one of luxury and it felt like it was worth the money. Although its a steak house and I am not a big "steak guy", I did order a Filet Mignon and it was easily the best piece of meat I have ever eaten. Our dinner for two was nearly $200 with a $70 bottle of red wine ... but it was our 30 anniversary so didn't think too much about it. Certainly not a place the average (or even above average) couple would go on a regular basis, but for a special occasion or if you're staying at the hotel and want a REALLY NICE dinner, its the place to go.
Wow! The food here is amazing! Service was excellent. Worth every penny.
Outstanding! From the food to the service this place has it all!
It was great
We enjoyed celebrating our first anniversary at 18 oaks! It’s a great place for yummy food, mimosas, and special occasions.
We had a great meal and service for Sunday Brunch with views of the hill country. The mix of choices is outstanding with a little something for everyone. Our server Chase was outstanding friendly and on top of his service game.
I mistakenly made a reservation for a different night than when I showed up with a customer - but they were very gracious and found us a table outside and dinner was fabulous. Didn't have the crab legs, but they looked good!
Having eaten some of the best steakhouses in the US we would definitely rank 18 Oaks right up there with the best. Food and service were on point. Some of the unique twist such as Duck Fat french fries and smoked tomato soup were a big hit.
Our server was fantastic, took great care of us without being intrusive. We were there for Easter brunch and my entire party enjoyed everything they had. Good variety and excellent staff. Exactly what you would expect at a JW facility. The property itself made a great backdrop for Easter pictures.
Awesome - as always
What a truly amazing restaurant. I really appreciated the little touches like house-made jerky and pickles! Steak was cooked perfectly and one of the best Mac n’ cheeses! I look forward to my next visit!
All of the food was over seasoned and there was a hair on my appetizer.
The server was great but we will not be returning.
Service and food were great, ambiance not so much. For the prices it was very regular Saturday night restaurant loud, like going to Chili’s. No real dress code, people dining in torn t-shirts and flip flops.
Absolutely fabulous brunch on Sundays. Everything is labeled, well spaced, immense variety. Prime rib, Turkey, pork hash, bacon, sausage, sweet rolls, biscuits, fruit, cheeses, desserts, and the order menu! The lobster omelet is perfection. Best eggs you will find. Subtle flavors. Service is top notch. Mimosas, champagne, coffee, tea and soda are included. Don’t miss this brunch
Christian our server was amazing and made our last night at the resort very relaxing and wonderful service!
Wonderful meal and absolutely EXCELLENT service from Christian. Looking forward to our next visit!
Horrible experience. Overpriced subpar food and extremely subpar service
Went for Sunday Brunch. Lots of choices and loved the complimentary mimosas. Very nice that they do with other than orange juice. Too yucky to sit on patio but that is a nice option. I was surprised to see all the shrimp, oysters and crab claws! Smoked duck was delicious. Many kinds of dessert options with nice explanation on what they were and if gluten free, etc.
Great service and amazing food! Always a great meal with top notch service! Can't wait to go back
The food and service were outstanding! They helped make my husband’s birthday very special.
Wonderful! We love this restaurant!
It was my wife’s birthday and they gave us first class treatment and made her feel very special. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive. It was better food and service than any fine steak house you could ever find.
My wife and I loved the 18 Oaks restaurant for her 65th birthday on 1/31/2018!
Our waiter, Casey was excellent , very professional and courteous! Also, a nice touch with the Happy birthday dessert!
Would dine there again!
Due to the fact that the 6 of us were enjoying brunch, there will always be plenty of dirty plates. Problem is that they were not being picked up. Courtney was a great waitress with the exception of that, and unfortunately that is a bit of a big deal. No one wants to continue to eat with dirty dishes in front of them. We will be back again, so please inform the waitstaff to pick up guests plates as soon as they are done with them. Thank you!
Overall great restaurant! Waitstaff courteous, prompt and knowledgeable of all the menu items. It was a wonderful evening.
My wife and I went for our 1st Anniversary; it was such a wonderful experience, we went back the next night, also! The food is excellent, and so is the service. Ask for Jacob if you go; he is attentive and very pleasant.
Wonderful Sunday brunch. Excellent selection and multiple desert options. Unfortunately it’s very expensive so this will only be an occasional treat.
Excellent food and friendly staff, what more to ask for!
Great service from Chase. Always a favorite place to eat.
We had the filet and bone in ribeye. Phenomenal steaks. The drinks, salads and brussel sprouts/cauliflower were great too. Will definitely be back!
This was a great restaurant. From the valet all the way to the manager were more than a pleasure to deal with.
The food was outstanding and the wait staff was spectacular.
The entire meal was stellar. Kudos 18 oaks.
We have been to 18 Oaks numerous times. Always enjoy the food, ambiance, etc. It seems like I have the same complaint every time. The service starts out really good and peters out after food is served. The waiter's assistant brought water at the beginning and stated he will be assisting the main waiter, but according to him only assists when asked. He needs to be a bigger part of the team to assist in bringing to go boxes, etc. We were waiting way too long for several things at the end.
We always enjoy eating here but this was especially great as Christian (our waiter) was beyond outstanding.
Incredibly Disappointed. We went on a surprisingly slow Saturday evening and service was very slow. The ambiance was stuffy and felt like it was straight out of a 70's knock off of The Standard Club. Food was unimpressive and overpriced. I get that this is at a resort and part of the club, but I am from Chicago and have dined in NY, Vegas, LA, and Houston regularly and while the pricing tries to compete with those destinations, the quality does not come close. The crab cakes were "good" but nothing special. The charcuterie board was much smaller than we had expected. The presentation and plating of the food was some of the worst we had seen. My boneless ribeye looked like it was dropped on a plate with a 1/4 over roasted onion as garnish. The cauliflower with gruyere cheese was literally 1/2 a head of cauliflower uncut and looked like queso poured over it. The duck fat cooked brussel sprouts were probably the best thing we had and I want to tell you they were amazing, but that would be a significant overstatement. I don't want to forget to mention that while we asked for our 4 y/o son's grilled cheese to come out before the meal, it arrived 15 minutes after everyone else's meal (I mean come on, it's grilled cheese and 15 minutes???). The "wild game" of the night was Lamb shank. I don't know where Lamb is wild game, but I was told it was just "alright" by my friend who loves lamb. The evening ended with desserts and it took surprisingly long (almost 30 minutes) for them to come out. My wife and I split the creme brûlée while the other couple had the apple crisp or something like that, I guess that is why it took so long to make that. The next night we all got together again for NYE and our feelings were the shared by both couples that we will not return. If you are going to drop this much money, Bohanan's, Perry's or The Palm are much better options.
Steaks were great tasting and service was spot on. Jefferson manhattans were great tasting
Over pricing and underwhelming. Two beers on draft. Service was slow. Hotel type service pretending to be be upscale.
This was a wonderful way to spend our 47th anniversary! The food was superb...best steak we've ever had! Delicious salad, excellent service. We loved our surprise desert we received at the end of our meal. We will definitely be back!
Our recent dining experience at 18 Oaks was superb. Lovely atmosphere, quality food, and outstanding friendly service. Highly recommend the Wagyu filet. We will be back!
Christian remains an excellent waiter!
Disappointed that online menu was not updated, as choices I was planning to order were no longer available (spicy crab with avocado, smashed fingerling potatoes with creamy horseradish) or have been removed in the past (braised kale with bacon). However, Wagyu Filet remains my top choice and worth returning for.
