JW Marriott San Antonio - 18 Oaks
O-18 Steak Sauce
Fried House Dill Pickles
Spicy ranch sauce
Food was not at the impression that the hotel gave it. Not worth the money.
Awesome food!!! I would highly recommend!! We loved this place
Great service and amazing food. Definitely recommend it.
The atmosphere was very chaotic considering it is the fine dining version of this hotel resort.
I had the best filet of my life. Scallops were good too.
Food was good, not great. Overpriced for the quality of the food.
Rarely is every aspect of a meal excellent- salad, entree, side, dessert. But starting with our tomato arugula salad, my filet and husbands New York Strip, side of asparagus, creme brûlée dessert, and even the rolls- all were outstanding. And our server was great too. We will definitely come back.
Great anniversary dinner thanks to Oscar and staff!
Is it alright not that great. Environment is good and view of surroundings great
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the atomsphere.
The service was slow and the steak over cooked. Otherwise, it was okay. Not a must repeat.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend with a special staycation in JW Marriott. Our dinner in 18 Oaks was made extra special personally by the GM, Nathan. He epitomized Servant Leadership, not just to us, as his guests - but also towards his whole entire staff. From our cocktails, to the apps, and thru the main course - each course was just superb and full of tasteful flavors. We will always dine at 18 Oaks whether we stay in the hotel, or for just a special dinner celebration.
Service was very good. I would have given an overall 5 stars but my ribeye steak was too salty. Generally, I I like my food with heavy seasoning. However, my steak was caked with salt and I didn’t put any salt on my steak. It was far too much. Other than that, I enjoyed the experience.
With a current menu that is somewhat limited, the choices usually bring you to just one fresh fish entree along with the steaks. The good news is that the salmon is always a good choice and the steaks are all recommended but for sure a little pricey. Covid-19 has also caused them to only have a few wines by the glass so given that they are not operating at full strength right now, it is still one of the nicest places to have a nice evening and dine on good food well prepared. Still worth the effort, I recommend.
Oscar did a great job with my two grandsons. Halibut was outstanding. Disappointed that jerky didn’t make the menu cut
Great ambiance, service was excellent, the food was delicious it felt as if we had the restaurant to ourselves .
We were here for our anniversary and the food was great and the service was amazing! The only thing i could complain on is the amount of Children running around in and out the doors and it made for our special anniversary a little hard. For the price we’re spending we would expect a better ambiance
All was great other than a large group that did not control the young (8 - 10 year olds) from running around tables that were not in there party.
Our 2nd time here and they didn’t disappoint! we’ll probably always come back when staying at JW.
Our food was delicious, however, our service lacked in comparison. We were surprised that there was not a dessert menu to top our meal off with. Overall experience was good.
We chose 18 Oaks for a special occasion which was noted on our reservation. It was never acknowledged, it took over an hour to get our drinks, our waiter was not engaged, would ask if we needed anything and walked away before we could respond. The food was good but I was so irritated by the time that it came I did not enjoy it.
The ambience/ noise level was more like a sports bar than a high end steakhouse.
I was deeply disappointed with the service and cleanliness of this restaurant.
Cíbolo moon had much better service, ambiance and seemed to be taking better precautions.
Our meal was delicious! Our waiter was outstanding. The restaurant was very clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. COVID precautions were obvious, although we felt relaxed in the atmosphere. The only complaint is that it was a bit noisy and proved to be difficult to have a romantic meal with my husband for our anniversary.
Excellent customer service and food was phenomenal!
Vacation it was nice. Eat outside on the patio.
18 Oaks - I'll keep it simple, top notch !! And I don't like the 50 character minimum. So stop it ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Our server was good but having to work really hard due to being short staff with COVID. There were several tables around us who were having to wait on drinks or their tab to checkout. As for the food it was fair. My food was good but the others at our table were not as impressed. We had 7 people in our party who had a lot of food, drinks and desert. The price of our check was much less than we had expected. Not sure we would go back again but the experience may be different if it wasn't during this time period.
Everything, from the crab cake with Beaujolais sauce for an appetizer, to the wedge salad to the 10oz filet with baked potato was excellent and first class. Our server, Casey Gabe us first class service. He even gave us a free dessert since it was my birthday. My wife and I split everything and it was more than enough and very filling. I would dine her again and again...
The food was amazing!!! We highly recommend it!!!!
Haven’t been here in years. Furniture felt shabby and beat up. Noticed scratches on wood paneling on walls as well. Felt very “Hotel” dining and not fine dining. We will not go back. Food was okay, but not amazing. Our expensive wagyu steaks were good quality but so under seasoned. Very disappointed.
Anniversary/birthday dinner. Good food but horrible ambience. Also ordered a nice bottle of red wine and it was hot and not served room temp.
Very large tables (2 with perhaps 14 or more people) made so much noise we could not hear the music or even have a conversation. Finally asked to be moved and the staff was OUTSTANDING in supporting us. At this price point it was very unfortunate those very large tables were put together. By nature they will create more noise. At least put them against the back wall so other customers can have a regular conversation.
This restaurant is a MUST do when visiting San Antonio! The first night we ate there, Luis was our server. He was amazing! Very helpful & knowledgeable about the menu! The food and service were so impeccable that we decided to go back the very next night. Julie was our server this night. She was fun, energetic and just as knowledgeable sbout the menu. She packed all of the food up to go and added extra bread. Just an amazing restaurant that cannot be missed!
Absolutely stupid policy about bringing your own wine in. I won’t be back.
Service was very slow at first. We waited a long time to be greeted or asked if we wanted a cocktail etc. Once we ordered our wine, again it took a long time to be served to us. They bring out a bread and jerkey board that was not only delicious but a very unique and nice touch. My husband ordered a filet that was melt in your mouth delicious. I ordered the halibut that came with a surprise of 5 shrimp in a delicious sauce. Both dishes were amazing. We did not order any apps or salad but did get a loaded baked potato to share, perfect!
I don’t feel like the food is all that great. Feels like they leave it out under the burners too long and doesn’t taste fresh. Our server barely paid attention to us which was really frustrating. Probably won’t be back in the future.
Great time. Great service.
Amazing food and experience!
We booked restaurant for our anniversary. Service was top notch and food was amazing! Our server went above and beyond to make the evening special!
