Justice Snow's Ratings and Reviews
Walked right in and got to sit without a wait. The main floor was packed and we got to sit in a quieter, prettier dining room. Food came out piping hot and delicious! I have Celiac's Disease and they were accommodating with gluten-free options. The woman who I think was the manager (blonde dreadlocks) was super sweet and so nice to us. We will be back the next time we are in Aspen!
A good restaurant in Aspen in the center of town. We had Devils on Horseback and the Brushetta to start. Both were excellent. We split the halibut entree. There is a $5 charge to split entrees but that is fine since we both were given two individual plated dishes. Sometimes a restaurant doesn't charge a plating fee and bring you an empty plate. In this case each dish was the same with half the halibut and the vegetables on each plate. Service was good. We sat outside on a delightful evening.
We like J Snow's mostly for the delicious cocktails it ate here for the first time and were pleased enough with the food. It is well priced for too expensive Aspen and the ingredients were fresh and healthy. It would nice to see a happy hour menu--if they have one, it was not offered.
Everything was delicious..roasted cauliflour salad & fish ceviche app w tortilla chips both amazing; lamb chop special for dinner was excellent too. Old historic bar w copper tables ..great service..wasn't very crowded on the Sat night we dined there..I'd go again for sure!
Incredibly creative staff who were totally on the ball. Cocktails before dinner were chosen from an extensive list and, even though we were unfamiliar with them they were both very enjoyable. For dinner, we chose to mix the small plates rather than have a single big plate each (you get to try more flavours that way!) and they were all good. All that, and we missed the rainstorm!
I'd been recommended by a friend to come here. Decor and ambiance spot on. Great drink menu. Good wine. The artichoke and devils on horse back were good. The server suggested the lamb special so I had to try it. She guaranteed it was gluten free. I didn't realize it was a shoulder cut( maybe I didn't listen well?), and I had been asked what temp I'd like it. It was so tough, I couldn't get my knife onto it and it almost went flying! I finally got a bite, and the flavor was great but it was seriously inedible. I'm actually grateful, because that one bite told me for the next 24 hours it was not gluten free. I ordered the flatiron after and it was great. Unfortunate the cut was terrible.
I can't speak to what it's like in-season, but Justice Snow's was great fun for our group of six during a girls' getaway weekend in late April! Service is super-chill, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable - great recommendations were made. Fun cocktail menu and the Bloody Mary Bar was terrific. This is a great place to go whether you're famished after a day on the slopes or just want a light bite after work.
The location is great and the decor is super fun. The bartenders are great and the cocktails are creative. We loved the old bar and the vintage feel of the place in an old hotel. As for the food...Mac and cheese was a stand out. Definitely a must get. We had the burger and the lamb. The burger and fries were good and but I didn't love the lamb. Service can be spotty at times with a small restaurant that gets super busy.
This was a fun night out with the hubby. WE loved the drink menu and the food was great. Great location with lots of history in the restaurant. There are two areas: The bar and the dining area. We sat at the bar area and it was busy and loud, but fun. The dining area is much more quiet. I saw that when I went to the bathroom, which was my only disappointment. I had to wait for the single bathroom and it was pretty dirty.
Arrived early for our reservation. Seated right away with a table by a large window so had great views of downtown. We ordered the calamari, brussel sprouts and cheese plate to start. Delicious starters. I had flank steak and truffle fries, my husband ordered salmon on top of forbidden rice and our daughter had the rib eye. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavorful.
Punchline - food was good, but the service was beyond horrible. It pains me to say this, as we are regulars there. But this night, they really let us down. Four of us visited for dinner on Saturday Night, and we were seated at a small, our waiter, seemed nice. Long story short, the NY Strip was tasty, the mussels good, cauliflower good, scallops delicious, all the other dishes all were good. We were having a very special Father/Daughter and friends dinner, so we were excited to be together. Our waiter, as "nice" as he was, did not really know much about the menu, and seemed so busy, he really didn't pay much attention to us. We ordered 6 items, and very specifically asked him to space them out - a big steak as our grand finale to share, salad and apps, then scallops as the second main (plus dessert). Ten minutes later, EVERYTHING came at the same time! First the steak was dropped off, scallops, etc., all 5 items Literally, there was no room to put everything, small table, 5 big items, plates, drinks, not sure what he/they were thinking. What makes it worse, is the gentleman who delivered the food was downright mean, nasty, and disrespectful when we told him how we wished to have our meal spaced out and to take a few things back so we could simply enjoy our food, not be rushed and enjoy our food. He seemed very angry and gave us a lot of attitude. Throughout our dinner, plates gathered up and I literally had to put things on the floor to make space, as he never came to take things away ... no apology, nothing. Then .... after a long period of time, we had to ask if they were ever going to bring the food to us we asked them to take back until we made space .... it was just a terrible night ... I can only assume our waiter wasn't really into service and being a waiter ... Again, we normally love this place ... it saddens me to write this, but it was so bad and professional, I have to. We eat out at great places a lot, this was a bad, bad, night - ruined our visit.
Our server (Sasha) was one of the worst waitresses that I have ever encountered! She was rude, screwed up our dinner order, non-apologetic and left a very bad taste in our mouths. She tried to force our entree, salad, apps on us all at once, neglecting to stage our order and tried to blame it on my GF and myself. Bar was cool, hostess was nice, but I will never eat here again. Not even the GM came to our table to apologize, which made the experience even worse!
The overall design involves having people at the bar leering over you as you eat your dinner. It's rather unpleasant and noisy.
It appears that it was more of a bar that was turned into a restaurant. Food was good, but the service and atmosphere is better suited for a bar.
I made this reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday, something I mentioned when I booked it. We arrived at 9 on the dot for our reservation, glad we did that because it was packed but we were promptly seated at our table with food and drink menus. We had 21 minutes to settle on both dinner and drinks yet no one came over to greet us, offer water or take our order. My husband took matters into his own hands and ordered our drinks from the bar thinking that would get us something in our hands until we could place a food order...wrong. We chose to leave around 9:45 because after being seated with menus for 45 minutes the waiter never came to take our food order. How long is one really supposed to wait? This spoiled the special occasion which was supposed to have been to treat my husband for his birthday.
