Junipers has a delicious chouce of entrees and can make foods gluten free and the service is exceptional. The setting is in a beautiful scenic pastoral setting in Northern Vermont.

The food was very average. One of the dishes was actually brought out still semi frozen in the middle and the scallop dish that was on special had very questionable scallops. I understand that restaurants sometimes put items that need to be used up on special to sell them BUT I struggle with a kitchen that does not know the difference between a good scallop and a very borderline scallop. The smell of ammonia is a dead giveaway that the scallops are turning and should not be used. Covering them in a heavy cream sauce was a nice try but not good enough.

Food was excellent. Nice portions (not too much), seasoning was good.

Given the location and its ambiance, the wine list, esp. by the glass, could be perked up a bit. We tried 3 different wines, Reisling, Merlot, and chardonnay and none were impressive at all

Wonderful location on the hill above East Burke. Delicious vegetable and blue cheese starter, mains were disappointing for the price. Does this place need to raise its game to live up to the fabulous location?

There were 4 of us and 3 our of 4 we're pleased. One of us asked for French Onion Soup and the pork Snitchel. Waitress forgot to order the soup so that never arrived. When paying the bill, she was told that the soup was absent....then she apologized? The pork was heavily breaded and very little meat inside. Also this person ordered the vegetable of the day......received ONE piece of Bok Choy?
Guess this just wasn't this person;s night! He went home hungry.
Also was extremely noisy in this main room. We were seated next to a larger party who talked loudly and we had to speak UP if we wanted to converse.

So will give your restaurant another try, but wanted you to know that there were 'wrinkles' on Saturday night.

We are in the business and very aware of all the details and they did a great job. The menu was well written with good selections. The wine list although not large was well rounded. We had a wonderful wine from Tuscany. Be sure to have the Brussels Sprout salad. It is really good. I had the burger and my wife had the duck. For us it was a 45 minute ride from NH but worth it. We visit about once a year. Even in the rain the view from the restaurant is beautiful. The service was professional and attentive but at the same time relaxed and comfortable. A very enjoyable evening out.

The view and scenery were amazing. We chose items off the menu that sounded amazing but came out fried, which was not in their description. The food that we ordered was mediocre at best. Sweet potato gnocchi came out fried & so did the kale salad. The fish & chips, which we were expecting to be fried was just your average fish & chips. The cocktails were fun & again the view was amazing, if we went back, we'd do breakfast there or cocktails with a view!

This has become my favorite special occasion dining spot when we at our summer home. The food is great, and the setting is beautiful. On top of that, the service is also wonderful. I would recommend it for your next "special occasion" even if that is just that you want a nice dinner in a beautiful location!

Juniper's provides one of the best dining experiences in the Northeast Kingdom. The food is always delicious and the view to the west, and the sunset on a summer evening, is stunning, especially from the lovely patio. As in all vacation areas, service can sometimes be an issue, but if you're enjoying the view and a tasty craft beer from the good selection offered, it's easier to overlook minor service glitches.

Celebrated our anniversary and birthday on a Saturday night. This is one of the most beautiful vistas in all of the NE. Breathtaking just about any time of year. It's right on the Kingdom Trails network of bike trails so very convenient and a great stay for travelers. Service was wonderful. A great place to escape and relax.

We celebrated our brother's 70th birthday, he was visiting from Oahu, had a great time , good conversation and our waitress Olivia was fabulous. As always Elaine was a wonderful hostess, someone my sister and I have known for a long time. The food was a big hit as was the birthday candle in the Maple Sundae. We had a wonderful time and it was a nice place to sit and relax with the best view of "the GAP". We were born and raised in this area and never tire of the scenery. Thanks for everything.

A perfect place to celebrate Mother's Day! Instead of the generic buffet brunches, they served a special four-course meal with plenty of choices. Drink specials too. Highly recommended.

Went for Mother's Day, and they had a brunch set up. They had a fixed menu where you pick and choose a couple of starters, a main entree, and a dessert. Some of us had the waffles with ham and cheese, goat cheese crepes, huevos rachero with chorizo sauce, and other starters (too many to remember). They served both starters in one plate, so that made a hefty plate of food already. Overall, very good, creative and tasty selection, albeit nothing too fancy (all the ingredients were simple)--however, the problem was that it was already too filling (I was expecting more like a European-style tapas).
Main entrees were equally good and tasty--lamb chops, chicken, and fish. The side of asparagus, however, was a little bit on the overcooked side, and the mashed potatoes had a lumpy, sticky consistency.
Dessert was the most disappointing. Two of us had the flan, the rest the lemon custard. Expecting to be 'wowed' by a colorful and artfully plated dessert, we were all given a small white cafeteria-style china bowl with the dessert spooned and plopped into place, topped with spray Cool-Whip. Huh? It reminded me of the hospital food card with bowls of mystery food topped with fake whipped cream. So overall, the food was okay albeit a little underwhelming, and disappointing dessert.
The service is one area that could use a little brushing up. Our server was very friendly, but not sure if they were busy or maybe could be trained to be a little more attentive to details--had to ask for drink refills, sugar, clean utensils, etc. Water glass was dirty too (this happens so not too big a deal). No body really checked on us until well into the meal. The food took a while to come out, and when they did, we weren't served at the same time, so some of the folks on our table had to wait for a few minutes.
Overall, not bad--but nothing to rave about. I'd like to think that this was a 'one-off' since they usually don't serve lunch, so I'm chucking it to inexperience.
