Juniper Restaurant in the Vail Valley Ratings and Reviews
I arrived at the restaurant 6:15 pm, within the 15 minutes of tolerance. the host greeted me saying I need to reschedule the table because several times he tried to call me and insinuating that my phone number was not valid.
First I said didn't get any calls from the restaurant and that the only communication was a sms which I replied stating the time that I would arrive.
Also my credit card was holding the reservation under the penalty of $25 per person in case of no show.
Food was disappointing. New York Strip too much fat, and the onion soup way below average. Panera does better.
Does not worth at all. Much better options in the area
We arrived for our reservation and were being seated when the manager came and told the hostess to have us wait. We then proceeded to wait for about 20 minutes while multiple other tables were seated and then our party of five was squeezed into a four person table.
The food was so salty that two of us did not finish our dinner.
We have been to Juniper many times when everything worked out great, but this time was a huge fail and we will not go back for a long time.
Juniper's is always delightful...everything from the fun and entertaining bar,
being greeted with warmth and charm by all the staff, the best menu in the
Valley by far, and always knowing your wine recommendation by the bartender
will be grand to also knowing you cannot have anything bad from the amazing
kitchen!! Our service was impeccable and friendly and we had a delightful
evening, as always...My highest recommendation to anyone looking for a
really wonderful meal and experience!
Juniper is the best restaurant in the Vail Valley area. We always look forward to our visits back. The veal scallopini and the pork chop were outstanding. Start the meal with the butternut squash soup and finish with the sticky toffee pudding cake. You won't be disappointed.
Doug and John are always there to greet you and the table is ready at the time of your reservation. Food is delicious, presentation is eye appealing and the servers are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! Wine menu is extensive and affordable. Atmosphere is fun, romantic and comfortable. One of our favorite restaurants in the Vail valley!
This was our first visit to Juniper and were tempted by the 1/2 price entree deal. We had a perfect dinner. It was very busy and we were asked to wait for our 8:30 reservation, but it wasn't too long and it wasn't a problem. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very amiable and knowledgable about the menu. Food was outstanding and with the 1/2 deal our bill was very reasonable for what we got. I had the Veal Scallopini which is their signature dish and no regrets. Delicious. Also recommend the toffee dessert.
We went to Juniper with extremely high expectations. Especially after reading the reviews and talking to our friends that are locals. Let me just start there...
It was their half off entree of the off season special and the place was packed.
We ordered wine at the bar with Doug who was great.
We had Katie for a server who could not have been more pleasant.
First course was the crab cakes which were such a disappointment. Very small and tasted like gas. Also came out in an impressive six minutes after ordering, and cold. The gazpacho was bland and
My husbands chicken was good but the asparagus was
Bitter and not prepped properly. Nice grill marks though and the mashed potatoes were creamy.
My halibut, which came very highly recommended, was just alright. I preferred the succotash over the fish which makes me a little sad.
Dessert was so good. We had the flourless chocolate cake but it came with what reminded us of Cracker Jack popcorn...
All in all, we had a nice time but just underwhelmed based on the previous expectations we had of Juniper.
My wife and I were there during restaurant week!! What a value 50% off all entrees. All entrees were incredibly good looking. We had great service and we both had a fish dish Halibut and Snapper. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. The sauces were so different and so good. The fresh vegetables were so tasty and fresh. I had soft polenta, fried green tomatoes, black eyed peas, and an incredible sauce.
Great service and delicious food. I had buffalo and it was spectacular, and my wife enjoyed the "duck two ways". The quality of the food and service at Juniper has always been top-notch, and their wine list is one of the better ones in the valley.
Juniper is always outstanding. Wonderful food in a relaxed setting above the Eagle River. A huge selection of of entrees all prepared just right. We had the veal and angel hair pasta and the duck two ways--yummy. Beet salad and heirloom tomato salads to start--fresh and delightful. Starters are generous, so you can combine two of them to make a great meal if you're not really hungry. If you can't find an appetizer and entree to suit you off this menu, then you're just impossible to please. Highly recommended.
