Delicious food, great service! Will definitely be back! Thanks to Candice for an awesome experience.
Food was great & the view was spectacular! Service was good
The food was great and our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The only downside was that the food was served on cold plates, meaning it lost its own heat very quickly; but the range of dishes was great, with excellent, locally-sourced ingredients. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Banff!
We pulled into the parking lot and immediately thought we might regret this meal as the Juniper Hotel looks more like a motel. We proceeded into the restaurant and again felt we made a mistake. The views are amazing but it’s more of a cafe setting. But, once we saw the menu and ordered our food we realized that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. The food was absolutely awesome, service was excellent. 10/10 would recommend. If you when it’s warm out, try to sit outside on the amazing deck.
The restuarant was recommended by a waitress from another restaurant. My first time in Banff and I wanted to eat great food in a place where I could reflect. I sat in the bar because the restaurant was full. Had a great table by the window and looked at the scenery while I read, drank wine and ate a delicious meal. The bartender/waitress was delightful and the food arrived hot. She provided a wine taster which prevented me from purchasing a wine I did not like. My second choice was great lake breeze by the glass in a red. I wish lake breeze pinot blanc was by glass instead of bottle. The new pinot gris option was from a winery I was no familiar with and it had a good start but a bad finish. I like being left alone to enjoy the food, ambience and scenery outside. I wish the weather had been warm enough to sit outside. I would definitely recommend and return.
Mountain View is breathtaking, and foodie and wines are also great. I would recommend here to my friends and I will visit again.
Great view of the mountains. Food was fantastic! Will definitely go back.
Sunflower salad with sunflower sprouts and tiny squash...hand made gnocchi in a delightful tomato and spinach sauce! Oh and then there is the striped bass stuffed with potatoes and the fig and pear compote! Did I mention breakfast...eggs benny with salmon...stuffed french toast...or perhaps the chefs choice quiche of the day!
The food taste sensational and the service just as wonderful!
Worth the trip out of the Banff town centre to the Juniper Hotel at the bottom of the road to Norquay ski hill. Juniper Bistro rocks!!
This is my favorite restaurant in Banff! My boyfriend and I come here for all of our special occasions. I'm also a concierge at the springs and I recommend to my guests all the time! The game duo is my fav dish!!! We will be back time and time again :) thank you!
My wife and I really enjoyed eating at the Juniper Bistro since we were staying at the Hotel also. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic! They accommodated our dietary needs graciously, they offered us options between two tables with nice views. We visited in April which felt like low season but we got great service and attention nonetheless. The food was Instagram worthy and very satisfying for our tastebuds and appetites. We enjoyed our anniversary stay and meals so much we would do it all over again! Thanks to everyone at the Juniper!
I highly recommend a visit to the Juniper Bistro. The food is OUTSTANDING and the service is impeccable. Add in the views of Banff and surrounding Rocky Mountains and the fact that you can stay right there in the Juniper Lodge (no drinking and driving) and life is good!!
PS I have serious allergy issues and the crew at the Junioer Bistro go out of their way to work with me while still creating beautiful, unique, inspiring meals.
The food was spectacular and we had the dining room all to ourselves. Excellent service and a beautiful view.
Amazing Mountain View! The food and drinks were good as well
The brunch was very tasty at the Juniper Bistro! Service was very good as well.
It was great
Great food, excellent service and an unbeatable view. Went for a little apres-ski, followed by dinner and then breakfast the next morning. All were excellent.
Beautiful view of Mount Rundle. Excellent soup, creative, flavorful entrees; inspired chefs. Friendly & knowledgeable waiters.
Great service, very attentive to guests, great food. Had the wild boar and the scallop dinners and both where great.
Casual, relaxed and a little off the beaten track, it does indeed have an exceptional view, nice staff, and good food.
They didn’t accept our open table voucher, but the food was really good.
The manager working at dinner had a bit of an attitude problem. Other servers were all lovely!
Unfortunately my partners food was cold (he did not want to say anything) and he had the strip loin. The muscles were mediocre, delicious sauce but more focussed on the pomme frittes.
Brunch was very tasty - perfect seasonings, very flavourful. Restaurant also has great mountain valley views. Also liked that brunch offered till 2pm on weekends.
Great view !!! Enjoyed the breakfast menus with a cocktail while admiring the scenery.
Great spot for Sunday brunch to catch up with friends. Combine that with an amazing view, worth a day trip from Calgary to enjoy the experience.
I had the stuffed French toast with n alone and cinnamon puree. Unique and delicious. Definitely would return.
The food was fantastic. The service was great and the view is to die for! A must stop spot to eat!
Food was excellent, some of the best food we’ve had. Really loved the pork belly starter! The game duo for two was very unique and well thought out. It was a very enjoyable main dish to share. If I’m honest, the portion was a bit small, however dessert filled us up in the end. The brown butter biscuit is an amazing way to end the meal.
Overall, very very good restaurant! Would definitely recommend and we will be back.
We had a great meal at Juniper Bistro: our starters of local smoked trout and of wild mushrooms were perfect, good size portion (but not too big) and delicious. For mains we had wild boar and chicken supreme, which were both tender with lovely sides. Wine selection was also good. And the service was excellent, cannot recommend the place enough! Worth the short drive from the town!
Great Bar, great patio in summer, nice private dining room but main dining room needs a bit of attention from a good designer as to lighting, separation of tables and clatter. This room provides wonderful views in daytime but would benefit from a few more quiet alcoves (such as the large table immediately to the right of the entry) that could be created by banquettes, dividers or taking advantage of the height of thee room by staging it into 2 levels.
Food's usually great and service is always acceptable and sometimes excellent.
Went for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fantastic. Perfect eggs. Brown butter hash was delicious. Sourdough was superb. Dinner was great. Would go back for the mashed potatoes alone.
We enjoyed dinner and brunch at the Juniper last weekend. We can't say enough about the friendly staff and excellent food. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Super boring hotel restaurant with strange food that was okay at best
No other customers there as it is off season. Food was very good
My husband and I ate here on our annual Lake Louise getaway this past weekend. While we wish we would’ve ate earlier so it wasn’t dark out and we could’ve seen the view, that is our only complaint. (And that’s our own fault!) Our server Michael was very friendly, our food was perfect, and the Creme Brûlée dessert was to die for! We would happily visit here again.
We had a great experience at the Juniper Bistro. Service was good and the view was great. The restaurant overlooks the mountains. We went for lunch on a weekend and it was quiet that day. We ordered the steak and the poutine both of which were well prepared and tasty. We would recommend and we would go back anytime we are in Banff. Definitely one of the better choices in the town.
The view is outstanding and the meal was excellent too.
Food was ok, service from mark was horrible. Very rude, took a while to get orders and was not too knowledgeable on the menu though he was certain with what he was saying. One of my guests had a service dog and he was very rude about that as well. Overall experience was poor. The hostess was very pleasant.
Unknown special menu that was not advertised. Waitress did not seem to understand the menu but she did a great job. Quite expensive.
Amazing food. Great unique options and great coffee. We both enjoyed the juniper benny and it was a dish we won’t forget. Service was so so. The view is spectacular and we will definitely go back next time we are in Banff.
Wonderful flavors. The sirloin and wild boar dinners were fantastic
We had an excellent breakfast at Juniper bistro. the food was so fresh and beautifully presented. The breakfast menu is somewhat limited but there is a choice for just about everyone. We had 3 different choices at our table and everyone raved about their choice. We will be back!
