Juni is a fine dining experience, located in the Hotel Chandler in Manhattans Flatiron district. The head chef, Shaun Hergatt, has won Michelin stars for his unpretentious French cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. The kitchen at Juni is seasonally driven, sources its ingredients locally and uses sustainable and organic produce and meat whenever possible.
Juni has a five-course tasting menu that changes at the chefs or the seasons whim. Recent menus include first courses such as hearts of palm, and peekytoe crab. Second courses such as Gigamoto oysters and handmade gnocchi are followed by fish such as salmon or bass and lamb tenderloin.
Only two tables reservations. They did not what was discussed in the e-mail.
Phenomenal restaurant! We love to visit this restaurant when we are in NY. Definitely a 'foodie' place. The ambiance is beautiful, service sublime... overall all around excellent!
We have been to Juni several times before and agree that the presentations here of the terrifically flavorful food qualify as art. The plates are a thing of beauty worth stopping for before enjoying the taste and sensations of the food itself. We are always surprised that this place seems to be somewhat overlooked in the high end dining scene of NYC. It is worth a visit if you are a foodie in search of new alternatives. We loved the food at SHO and were disappointed when it closed so when we found Shaun Hergott had opened Juni we put it on our list immediately. Although the tab can run high this dining experience truly is an experience and one to be savored - highly recommended!
Nice restaurant with wonderful atmosphere. Interesting combination of products which makes an explosion of tastes.we liked it.
Juni is a terrific place. it is beautifully elegant. quiet. the food is adventurous but also approachable. reminds one of French to New American fusion. really good service with lots of room between tables. set inside Hotel Chandler which is a lovely place.
i highly recommend Juni. One of the best in NYC!
Food was excellent, the service could not have been more professional. The sommelier knew what he was talking about. Our party could not have been more happy with the evening. Congratulations Juni!
An inventive Prix Fixe menu with a few surprises added. Everything was delicious. I recommend you order the wine pairing; very special wines matched perfectly to each food choice.
The food was outstanding, the wine parings were perfect and the staff were very welcoming. However, I am unlikely to return because I strongly disliked the ambience. It didn't work for me I am sorry to say. The chef has an extraordinary talent though.
Excellent food, courteous waiters. Will come back. It was a nice experience.
The fixed course selections were overly complex - not really a signature flavor for any of them that I chose except the veal. The vinyl seats were hot and I ended up stuck to them when standing up. Overall restaurant temp is too warm for a long sleeve shirt and jacket.
I had high expect ions. I wasn't disappointed. I'm not going to describe any more...go find out!
Very friendly and warm atmosphere and the food was so delicious!
Simply, must go restaurant. Creative presentations and combinations served with panache in a uncrowded dining room with well-spaced tables. Diverse wine list complements the food.
Well when we arrived we were the only people in the place at 7PM. Very quiet and nothing very interesting to look at. But special birthday dinner for my wife so we gave it a go. Hate to say but the best food was the bread and a red cherry jelly bean that was the first item brought out. After that the food was nothing to speak about. I know its all about the presentation and 5 star service which it was. But the taste of all the dishes were unusual, honestly quite weird and some actually gross. I wish I had chosen another place for my wife's big birthday. Left disappointed and with a big big bill to pay off. Won't go back. When we left only three other groups had been in during our 2 hour and 15 minute experience on a Tuesday night.
Lovely place great food
I would love to give this restaurant 5 stars on all areas however the odd layout, decor and lack of music were too distracting especially given the price of the overall dinner. Sorry but my first and last time here...
If you expect to be full after eating a meal, this is not your place.
Very disappointing for the price. Perhaps my palate is not refined enough, but some of the dishes felt more pretentious than creative.
I would not recommend nor return.
A very special meal with artistic presentation. Unhurried, quiet setting. Very special.
great service, good food and reasonably charged. just one little area that they can improve: they should provide napkins to clean the hands prior to asking customers to pick up food with fingers, not the other way round.
Choice of menu is fine, quality of the food is outstanding.
Very good serivce with a lot of people helping in the restaurant, but you never feel to much audience. The atmosphere is relaxed.
All in all a very good restaurant to experince. Although it cost quite a lot of money, but that's what you know upfront.
We came here for our anniversary and we could not be more pleased. The food was fantastic and service was outstanding. I loved their bread too.
Would definitely come back for another special occasion.
I had an amazing dinner here with family. Drinks were great, food was incredible. Waiters very attentive and knowledgeable without being obtrusive. A great night all round. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in nyc.
Having dinner with family in Juni was the best experience.
Deserves more than one Michelin Star!
The five course with the reserve wine pairing is perfection.
If you are interested in a fast dinner, with lots of food at a great price...this ain't it! However, if you are looking for an amazing dinner, artfully prepared, served by knowledgeable and attentive servers with wine pairings that are spot on...this is it! We had issues with our flight arrival (imagine that) and called Juni to tell them we were afraid we would not make our 9pm dinner reservation. Besides true empathy for our situation, they were concerned about helping us get a table when we arrived. As it turned out, we barely made it by 9:00, were warmly greeted and seated straight away. From the beginning, we new the meal would be special. The restaurant serves a prix fixe menu that can be either four or five courses and you can choose whether or not you would like wine pairing (do it...the sommelier is excellent). Besides the coursed servings, the chef has little treats between courses that are amazing such as black truffles. The dining experience is a little over two hours so don't go if you are in a hurry. Also, it is not inexpensive. However, for the quality and the experience, it is worth it. I can't wait to go back!
The top three restaurants in New York are Juni, Eleven Madison Park, and Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare. Period.
OK, taste is subjective, but everything we had really worked for us. Innovative, fun, and really delicious. The service was first class. A good value? Probably not. But for a special night out it was amazing.
Booked Juni in UK prior to our visit to NY...the occasion was our 2nd wedding anniversary...we were not disappointed! Food was superb, I particularly liked those Palm hearts! Canapés were amazing too! Service was very good...attentive and accommodating but not over bearing ...and the anniversary extras were cute and much appreciated.
Juni Mules were fab in the cocktail bar beforehand too...all in all a great experience and well recommended!
Superb. Nothing more need be said except that at least 50 characters are required here.
We had a fantastic meal at Juni - we went for the 5-course tasting menu. Only positive things to say. The cocktails were incredible for a start. Presentation of the food was wonderful - the food itself but the crockery too. Some new and interesting flavours and combinations. I enjoyed every course - particularly the crab and the pasta (with truffles and crustacean sauce). The restaurant is formal yet very welcoming and comfortable - the service was excellent; attentive but not "too much". Would recommend for a special occasion or romantic date - not cheap but I think well worth it!
The inventiveness of the cuisine is mirrored by the cheerful creativity of its presentation. This is a superb restaurant in all respects. Sophisticated, quiet , graciously spaced tables, attentive and helpful service. And the food is superb, from amuse bouche(s) to petit fours , with superb dishes in between. I was surprised that this restaurant was not fully booked the last two times I dined there . It is certainly one of the best in the city.
Fantastic overall. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Staff are clearly foodies, and could describe and recommend dishes and pairings well. The food was excellent, from the first rate presentation, appropriate portioning, to the subtle favors and tastes. The ambience was quiet -- allowed for easy conversations and the creation of memories that endure. We will be back.
Very underwhelmed by this experience, especially for the price point. The atmosphere was odd, we had to wait 30 min past our reservation to be seated and our cocktails took almost that long to get made while we waited. I also had to ask for our server to come to the table multiple times. Felt like we were being completely ignored and the timing between each course was incredibly slow. Also found it very tacky that when we ordered a full wine pairing and they didn't pour the wine table side, they just brought over a glass that had already been poured.
It was a wonderful experience. The Service was prompt and friendly without being overbearing. The dinning experienced at Juni is one to be savored. Over the course of the evening, the diverse course choices allow you to enjoy many different and all freshly made haute cuisine dishes. I will definitely return
Food was impeccable, service was the nest, the sommelier was the friendliest guy with amazing explanations for the wine pairings. The whole experience was wonderful!
The food is the gem of this restaurant. Each dish is meticulously prepared to stimulate more than just your pallet, evoking memories and character. The service on the other hand is lacking character and creates a facade of fine dining that is easily attainable at cheaper and more inviting restaurants. You are constantly being watched by one of the staff and a majority of the people that come to serve you have tasteless uninterested faces. When it comes to dining at Juni, come once and never come again.
Delicious meal. Good seating plans (not crowded). Good wine list. Expensive if wine is consumed.
We live in Manhattan and have very discerning taste, the food was wonderful the service was really terrific very welcoming and warm staff
Attractive, small, comfortable, high-end dining room in The Chandler hotel on the border of the Garment district and northern Madison Square. Restaurant recommends stylish dress however some clients insist on looking like they just came in from tidying the garage (perhaps hotel guests who had just arrived from a long flight?!). PF menu of 4 ($98) or 5 courses. Very creative food choices, 3 per course. Outstanding prep and presentation. Not all choices necessarily to everyones liking. 2 wine pairings available plus extensive wine list. Wine pairing recommended but pours are light ($100 for the reserve which features small interesting producers). Service is friendly, professional, efficient. Overall very good experience but very expensive ($550+ for 2 incl aperitif, 2xPF, 2 wine pairings, tax, tip)...not a value venue.
