Excellent food and service.
Jungsik is a unique dining experience. We had a wonderful time celebrating a very special occasion. The presentation of dishes is fantastic. The Foie Gras Mandoo is a personal favorite.
The valentines special menu is good, especially the desserts. The main cuisine doesn’t change which I expect to. Servers are all great to serve me at midnight with energy. It’s a great dine-out experience here.
You must come to try the dessert tasting menu. It is fantastic and the service was wonderful and we had the visit of the pastry chef at the end who came to say hi.
Best experience ever
Amazing food and service!
Every dish had an elevated twist.
I think Jungsik is the Best restaurant in New York.
Absolutely incredible experience!
Some of the food is really good but could be little bit too salty for my taste.
The little banana is sooooooo cute and it tases good. The servers are great.
Among the four of us at dinner, with over 250 person-food-years amongst us, this was probably the best dining experience any of us has ever had. The decor, the service, attention, presentation, nuance and food are almost beyond description. Gracious, attentive and knowledgeable, the staff was omnipresent without being intrusive or overbearing. Their attention to detail was exquisite. The precision, beauty, and serendipity of each course was only surpassed by the incredible melding of tastes in every morsel of each bite. Joyous surprise awaits!
Had the seasonal menu, only the sea urchin and cod dishes were standouts, the rest not really memorable, which is the requisite for restaurant at this price range. Service and ambiance were precise but not necessarily warm or personal. Overall very good, but not exceptional.
Realmente de los mejores lugares que he conocido, todos los platillos espectaculares, el menu de degustación excelente desde las entradas, el pescado, el pato, la trufa, y los postres woooow.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in NYC! Hope to return in the future.
One of the best meals we have ever had. Some fine dining restaurants don’t pay as much attention to dessert but that’s not the case here...finished very well!
It was really nice to have the name of the birthday party printed on the menu, a nice touch! It would be good to dim the lights a little to create more intimate dining experience. There was also a moment where the lead server was seemingly replaced by another server and that was a little confusing.
Unique dining experience with excellent service and attention to detail.
Impeccable experience - refined and delicious food, top notch service, calm and peaceful space.
I would say it's more Korean influenced food rather than Korean food. Overall the food on the price fix menu was good, though $65 supplement for royal bibimbap is a little excessive given the portion was so tiny, and it's not even remotely similar to actual bibimbap. Also I couldn't bring myself to eat the pigeon, though they were able to swap it out a beef dish. Very overpriced though considering quantity of food, and though it's good overall it's not anything exceptional.
It’s always a risk going back to a restaurant you’ve previously had one of the best meals of your life at ... I needn’t have worried. Our dinner was as sublime as last time. Outstanding service, outstanding food, lovely ambiance ... what’s not to like. Can’t wait to go back for round 3!
This was my third time at Jung Sik; I celebrated my 70th birthday there in 2013, and the occasion was my 76th on Saturday 01/12/2019. I think everything from the cuisine to the service was of an even higher calibre than at my previous visit. My fiancee was thrilled beyond all expectations and could not praise the entire experience any more enthusiastically. There were numerous soju's on the drink menu, and I do not
recall their being available. Since I have lived in Korea, I found soju a great accompaniment to the meal.
My experience at Jungsik was amazing! Everything from the service to the food was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends who visit NYC.
Food was amazing and incredible service, for someone who never tried high end Korean, I felt so
Very disappointed overall with the experience. Expected much more from a 2 star Michelin restaurant. Food was good not great and definitely not worth the price. Prices for glasses of wine was outrageous. There are much better Michelin 1 star restaurants than this with 2 stars
Everything was incredible. I was alone and chose to sit at the bar to order the octopus and the urchin a la carte instead of doing the seasonal or signature tasting menus. The dashi braised octopus was the best I’ve ever had. So tender and subtly crispy! The uni was a fascinating take on bibimbap, the flavors blending delightfully in each bite. I also did the dessert tasting menu, which was incredible. Since I was alone, I was talking to the bartender (I never caught his name) and the assistant manager (Ms. Chung, I believe) throughout my time there. They both made me feel very welcome. All in all, I had a lovely time!
Was wonderful and I cannot wait to return!
The food was simply stunning in all regards. We appreciated the balance between courses. While there were some intense umami flavor bombs, there were also many dishes with delicate flavors and subtle mouth-feel. We chose the smaller menu and left feeling quite satiated but not overstuffed, always a plus for me. The wine list is very expensive, but we were able to find an excellent dry Riesling that went well with everything for less than $100. The sommelier was very helpful. Worth the splurge for a special occasion (or if you have an expense account.)
It was amazing, awesome and wonderful. I can’t find any other great words to explain this please excuse me. I had perfect day from Jungsik. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for celebrating my birthday. You guys have super great team of staffs.
One of the best dining experience I’ve ever had. My friend is allergic to seafood, so the chef kindly made a lot of adjustments for him. Awesome experience.
Simply the best, what more is there to be said? I have never been disappointed since I started going to this beautiful restaurant.
Just did the dessert tasting. Pretty incredible experience. It is definitely expensive, so I can see some folks not loving it for the price, but this was a special treat I thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, at Jungsik, the holiday tasting menu seemed to be just standard Korean flavors with maybe a few twists, using higher quality ingredients. This was Korean flavored food, slightly elevated. There was no truly amazing “Wow!!” dish, nothing was blow you socks off superb. All dishes were quite restrained in flavor, and there were at minimum four errors in execution. The dry dough on the mini steamed bun amuse-bouche; the weird flavor combination of the king crab with the caviar; the undercooked turbot along with the fish bone. Everything else was set at a comfortable flavor, but not exceptional. The wow factor was not there; this was not an impressive tasting menu, especially for $325 a head. The flavor explosions were simply not present; expectations for this price point were not met.
Great food skewing towards French with Korean influences.
Every dish was so good. Definitely worth it. Highly recommend
As a Hospitality student, I enjoyed the service very much. The hostess was knowledgeable and made the evening very special. Did not agree with the music choice for ambiance but overall a wonderful dining experience!
Excellent food and service.
While the food is outstanding at Jungsik, the prices are outrageously high (expect at a minimum $400 per person even when you order from the regular, non-tasting menu if you plan to have wine, which we did not have). The prefix is especially deceptive because in most courses, you were only given two choices, and in our case we were only offered the choice of sea urchin without an extra fee, or else a risotto with truffles for an additional hike-up of $65 per person. In other words, if you do not like sea urchin, you are stuck with a huge additional prefixed charge, with such a mark-up coming on a dessert as well. While the service was outstanding, our waiter seemed not so subtly to be pushing those dishes with additional fees, and we were made to feel bad for asking any questions related to price. The food though is truly delicious and exotic, but we ended up paying nearly $900 for three people with only two cocktails and no wine, and we did not have the even more exorbitantly priced tasting menu. Nonetheless, the design of the restaurant is beautiful, and be sure not to miss the hyper-fancy toilets in the bathrooms with more gadgetry than you can believe. Alas, I won’t go back, despite the superlative skills of the chef.
Incredible experience! Can't wait to be back there again.
Our favorite restaurant special occasion restaurants in NYC. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. The food is exquisite.
