Everything was very good for a pretheatre lunch. Wish the menu were a little more varied, or that it included brunch, but overall very good.
The food is good. We were there on a Sunday at noon and the menu was very limited. The ambiance is what you might expect in the lobby of an Omni hotel--a bit loud with uninspired decor but clean, modern and fine. The servers were very nice but understaffed. They were apologetic for the slow service. To their credit, they got the orders right and they were as attentive as they could be.
So sorry they no longer have Sunday brunch - so disappointing. Looked forward to it before we went to the Sunday matinee performance forFSCJ series. They got rid of the brunch and service seems to have gone away with it. Will no longer be going to Juliette’s
Was a little underwhelmed to be honest. Was expecting more . Menu online is not even close to what they have to offer much lesser options. Ordered the Calamri which was honestly a little greasy along with the Crab Crusted. Catch of the Day which was grouper and the Honey Braised short ribs.
Starting with the Fish The fishy was flaky but the Crab topping and crust had little to no flavor. Person I was with was kind of disappointed. I ordered the Braised short ribs with Brussel sprouts and Asparagus. While it was a little sweet the braised ribs were very tender. The sprouts and asparagus were excellent as well.
Ambiance the hotel is gorgeous and the seating and setting at the bistro is nice and quaint. Waitress was attentive and great.
Overall I think for the prices I just expected more maybe the menu was not as vast due to the broadway show in-town so maybe we will try again another time.
Recently dined with a party of four before an evening show at Times Union Center. The reservation process was very easy. Upon arrival the reception staff was friendly and welcoming. We were quickly seated even before our 5:45 reservation. The waiter and food was very good. We each selected a different entree and each person was very pleased with our meal. Highly recommend Juliette’s for your next dining experience when visiting Jacksonville Florida.
Our server was attentive and accommodating to our requests. The food was amazing and a good portion size. Very good experience.
The service was worse than bad! When we arrived there were hardly any other patrons yet it took forever to get our food and then getting our bill was impossible. When the bill came it was done incorrectly. We almost missed our show yet we were there 2 1/2 hrs before the show. Just not what we expected for a “nice” restaurant.
Going to play
Here for pre theater dinner. Best shrimp and grits ever!
Lunch menu is very limited. Food was average.
Repas du réveillon du nouvel an
The service we got was not good It took over an hour for our food to be served not once did the waiter come by to update or check on us did not pour our wine The food when it arrived was fine
The venue was not busy at all, with plenty of available seating on a Friday evening with multiple shows happening right across the street. The food was delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The server was very friendly. The only odd thing was that he didn't ask for any sort of drink order when he first came to our table, but other than that things were on point.
My friends and I had a great time. All of the food we ordered was so delicious.
Had reservations. With no one in the restaurant we were sat by the kitchen door so killed our special evening mood. Server was polite but never brought our salads. Food took a while and when it came we asked about our salads to her reply- the kitchen forgot them so we said we did not need them now. We asked for bread but was told we needed to request it. At the end of the meal she brought our receipt and we asked for cappuccino. She added the cappuccino and ran our credit card. Over 35 minutes later the coffee never came. It had now been a 2 hour meal and we had to leave. So we never got the coffee. Server saw us get up to leave and she went in a different direction. No one was at hostess stand to tell. Food was great but slow arriving. Not sure I want to come back.
Pleasant atmosphere and good food.
Best hamburger ever.....no kidding!
The space is open, noise level low, so we could carry on a conversation. The entries we ordered ranged from burgers to short ribs and seafood, so great range of selections and prices. Wait staff was conscientious and we did not feel rushed.
Our second or third meal here this year as it is only restaurant near Times Union Center. In the past it has been decent. This time it was disappointing in both food quality and service. We must have waited 20 minutes after ordering drinks before waitress came back to say that they were out of the draft beer one of us had ordered. Then, literally another 15 minutes before she came back and said they were out of the wine we had ordered. Wow. This is getting ugly early. Then seafood special came and it was beige fish on a bed of wine mashed potatoes on a white plate. Fish was okay, but I would expect more for $31.
Wow. Friday night with a show at 8pm. We were seated promptly at 6:15pm and given water. At 6:45pm, I asked for menus. At 6:55pm, I asked for a waiter. At 7:05pm, a manager took our order. At 7:25pm, we got a drink and the food order we put in at the same time and ate quickly to make our show. The water was delicious.
We had 5:45 PM reservation and tickets for a show across the street at 7:30 PM. We were pushed to finish our dinner and get to the show on time. The restaurant was busy because there were two activities going on. They needed more servers. It took quite a while to have our order taken. We asked for an entree to be split and they brought it not split and had to take it back to split it. We refilled our own wine the entire meal. The food was good. The dining experience left a lot to be desired.
Great for quick bite before a show at the Times Union. We ordered off the menu and the portions are large. The buffet looked awesome!
Good place to go before going to theatre. Shrimp cocktail and flatbread appetizers were very good.
Opt for the seating away from the bar, on an 'inside patio' where the soaring ceilings keep it bright and airy. The only limiting aspect of dining here is the menu. There are a handful of items in each category. Fortunately for us, we found delicious options. I had the fish special, a mahi mahi with a crab-crusted topping. As I didn't want the mashed potatoes that were featured with it, I got to pick from other side options and enjoyed the crispy Brussels sprouts. My husband had the smashed burger, which was to his liking, and the French fries served with it were really good. We each had a glass of wine, available in 6 or 9 oz pours, a nice feature. We shared the Key lime pie, house-made and quite good. Overall, we were pleased with our experience, choosing Juliette's for its proximity to the Times Union Center. From the looks of the other diners, it seemed that was the reason for quite a few of them, too, along with business travelers and others.
We had a little wait before server came to our table, but food was tasty and will try again in Jan. when we are in Jax.
The service was excellent, the food delicious, and surroundings were conducive to good conversation.
The lunch menu was limited and the food was average. My fish tacos were like warm.
I did light: the crab cakes and the strawberry salad. They were superior, really really good (among the best crab I have ever eaten). The ambience was ok. I was seated next to the bar, however, where yaking really was irritating. But then the server: she was very nice, very friendly, but she didn't really know anything. Wine? She didn't drink, she replied, innocent of what that meant - for her or the restaurant. I finally settled for a rather generic but decent white. Her fault or not, service was extremely slow. I was in no rush, but still I found it rather irritating. She was working a good many tables, which might have helped account for her inattention. She certainly wasn't hurrying for any of us. Prices were ok except for the astonishing tariff of $5.50 for a single shot of expresso - which (the server again) came wihout any sugar. Then without any stirrer. I'd return as the place is next door to the symphony hall and decent, but still the place fails significantly to live up to the potential offered by the kitchen.
Very mixed whether I'd recommend it - except for concert goers.
Our only dissatisfaction was not being waited on in a timely fashion
The location to the performing arts center is the only reason to go there. Food is ok but service is consistently poor. My group goes before performances but will probably come up with an alternate.
Had a reservation & told the waited when we sat down that we had an hour & a half as we were going to the theatre across the street. He took our order immediately. Two salads with shrimp & 2 glasses of wine. We waited 20 minutes for the wine & another waiter actually brought it to us. Our waiter finally brought it 10 minutes after we got the first glass—never apologized just said” oh you already have it” & walked away. He walked by us several times while waiting on 2 larger parties & never looked at us. Asked for bread or crackers & never got either. Will not be going back
Kitchen was apparently understaffed and did not follow the orders written by the server.
Too expensive for what you get. We got the buffet for dinner and all the sides were extremely salty and the seafood was over cooked.
It was not the waiters fault that the buns were not delivered the cook had not made them I had to ask the manager at the end of my meal to get them coffee was ordered and the waiter had to make a salad because nobody had done it and we couldn’t wait we were heading to the symphony then I’m trying to pay there was nobody there to pay my poor waiter was riding around and it was unbelievable I will never go back myself but it wasn’t the waiters fault
Went for dinner before Jacksonville Symphony performance (directly across street). Excellent!
The service was excellent but the food inconsistent. Some items were well-prepared and fresh, but other things were not.
We are newcomers to JAX & decided to try the Juliette's Bistro before a Symphony Pops concert because of it's proximity to the venue. Started at the J Bar in the hotel and the drinks were great and so was the dinner at Juliette's. The Salmon and Bouillabaisse were excellent. The Bouillabaisse was not listed on the menu but we told them we saw it online. Our awesome waitress, Jaimie, checked with the chef to see if he could make it for us and he did! The staff was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely go back again!
Went for brunch. It was excellent! Great food. Good service. Will be back!
Concert and date night
outstanding service(Meghan) with very good food; enough menu options to satisfy most
