Juliette's Bistro at Omni Jacksonville Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Our visit was for a dual wedding anniversary with my wife and I and one of our sons and his wife. 49 years fo us and 10 years for our son and his wife. Our son does not consume meat in any form and the Chef on duty was more than accommodating . Overall we had a great time and would recommend friends and family to try the Omni. Also our server was extremely attentive and very accommodating.
We decided to have Father's Day brunch at Juliette's. We made reservations for 1:30 and we were immediately seated. Due to the lateness of the hour, there were some limitations but overall it was a great experience. My favorites were the omelette bar and the snow crab claws. One thing I don't like and I would like to see addressed are the flies and gnats. Otherwise, a wonderful brunch made even more wonderful by the bottomless mimosas!
The corn and crab bisque was delicious but it nevertheless had no corn and no crab. The wedge salad that I had was passable as was my husband's shrimp salad. I had high hopes for a significant improvement in this venue but it has regressed to the same inconsistent restaurant it has always been. The waiter tried but the kitchen again shows signs of mismanagement. The kitchen did not do what the waiter told them to do and brought all the food out at the same time. Totally annoying. I made them return the salads to the kitchen. If Juliette's was not adjacent to the theater and a convenient parking lot, I wouldn't continue to patronize Juliette's.
Please change out the menu served during theatre nights. As we frequently go to Juliette's before seeing a show, it would be nice to have some seasonal options. The last 4 times I've dined there, the menu has been the same. Food is good and quick, but needs to be changed up.
We drove 65 miles to attend the Jacksonville Symphony concert on Saturday night, March 25, and had reservations at Juliette's for pre-concert dinner. The location is directly across from the symphony hall, and we were able to park easily in the Omni lot ($20) and go to dinner. The wines and salads were good, but entrees were not at all what they were supposed to be. My husband's rib-eye ($29) ended up as two thin steaks that were way overcooked, on the leathery side. I ordered the special-Sesame crusted sushi grade tuna with Asian slaw. My tuna had no sesame seeds, just salt and pepper for seasoning, and there was no slaw. It also took 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive after the salads were brought. The manager and wait-staff kept apologizing and offered us complimentary desserts which my husband ordered, but I chose not to have. For me it was a huge letdown of a meal and I was ready to leave. We paid the $101 bill without complaint, tipped the waitress who was embarrassed, and just left as soon as possible. We will not be eating there again.
Food was fair - over cooked scallops & under cooked succotash
Arrived @ 8:30. Felt rushed by staff who were bringing food in between setting up the room for breakfast service the nxt morning. Staff not too happy about not placing my entire order before getting drinks. Staff not happy about ordering desert & coffee. Guess @ 9:30 on a Friday they had other places to be. Had to take silverware from nxt table repeatedly. Got check (w/o asking for it) in the same time with the dessert. The coffee followed - w teaspoons handed to us, once again, from a nearby table. Hey, at least I didn't have to get them myself like I did throughout the evening.
They have learned to accommodate the many shows across the street and have prepared a menu to permit people to come in dying quickly and get out. We took the option to see the main menu and feasted on appetizers. What a wonderful way to start the evening they were all especially nice. The special for the evening was lobster bisque and it was Heavenly, the best I have had in maybe 50 or 60 years.
We had dinner here before going to a show at the Times Union on Saturday evening. We had made a reservation a few days before. When we arrived we were given an abbreviated menu which only had a few entrees. I questioned the server who stated that the menu was because of the show. I stated that they should have informed me when I made the reservation and then I was given a full menu. Food was good but service was slow. Not sure I would go here again on a show night.
The service was very slow. Luckily we planned plenty of time. We were seated very close to the bar and it was very loud. It was a nice place for pre theater because we walked across the street when we were done. I wouldn't recommend it for any other nice night out.
Unfortunately, our dinner experience was not up to our expectations. When the food was served, the salads (sadly not up to par) came long before we had finished the appetizer (pretty good fried calamari) and the entrees (mine was $32 shank) came well before the salad was eaten and we were asked about dessert before we were half way through the entrees. My shank arrived over a dried and pretty cold serving of grits and as the serving bowl was cold, so was the entire meal before it should have been. The drinks at $14 were more than I would expect in a non-fine-dining establishment and the wine was priced comparably. We are generally pretty easy to please, but the experience here was a big disappointment. We had actually selected the hotel when we went to the restaurant website and were enticed to give it a try. I would not stay at the Omni and certainly not eat at Juliette's on our next visit to Jacksonville.
I picked Juliet's for a Valentines dinner to try something different . I knew that the regular go to restaurant's were going to be so packed & boy did we luck out. This was a great find , excellent hospitality and absolutely outstanding food . We both had the fillet mignon & it was absolutely outstanding ( Mouth watering to be exact . ) We will definitely be back and highly recommend this not so known gem that's hidden inside of the Omni hotel.
We were guests in the hotel while in town for grandson's birth so we decided to have Valentine's Day dinner in the restaurant. My grouper was very over cooked as were the scallops in my husband's entree. We spoke with manager who took both meals off the check and gave us complimentary desserts. The appetizers was good and the waitress was one of the best we've ever encountered.
We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner before the theatre. The service could not have been better. For example, our water and rolls were constantly replenished. Our food was very good, not badly prices and promptly served. When I asked for my salmon to be done a bit more, my waiter brought complimentary soup so my husband would not be eating alone. Never before have I enjoyed such a thoughtful gesture! As a takeaway, when we were leaving for the show, we were given containers with chocolate covered strawberries! Wow!
