We had lunch at Juliette's. The service was fine...........food, not so much. My husband and our friend ordered the soup, potato and onion and it had little taste. I ordered the Juliette burger. When it was served it was at least 6 inches tall. In order to eat it, it was necessary for me to remove much of the slaw and condiments to make it manageable to bite. The plank on which it was served had no room to put all that stuff. It spilled over to the table. Burger itself was good, but the plating was awful. It needed to be served on a much larger plate.......very difficult to eat. Left me with not a great feeling about the place. In retrospect, I should have asked our waiter for another plate.....Will think long and hard about a return visit...........No to mention that the parking was impossible. Once we were in, the hostess told us to use the complimentary valet, that had clearly marked signs for Il Barone. Too late.

Great local bistro. I love a place with a short menu where everything is amazing. I will keep coming here as long as the food quality continues to be top notch.

I love the ambiance at Juliette’s! I started with the Rose 75 cocktail. It was so yummy! My hubby had a Sazerac and enjoyed it also. We took advantage of the special menu for restaurant week and it was well done and had a good selection. I started with the cauliflower. I enjoyed the yogurt sauce that accompanied it. Maybe the cauliflower was a teeny bit over-cooked but it was fine. I chose the Thai style fish as my main and I enjoyed it. The spices, coconut milk and other flavors melded well.My hubby/date had the duck entre and it was really, really good. It was cooked perfectly too (just the right amount of pink and juicy and flavorful). The desserts were good/great. I got the salted caramel pudding. It was good. But, my husband’s bread pudding was truly the Star. It came out in a little cast iron dish and was bubbling hot with an amazing caramel-like sauce. Wow!!
Juliette’s is always a fun, dependable choice for us.

I was there for lunch and had the swordfish. It was delish. Portion was small but very tasty. Restaurant tends to be a little noisy and decor is too rustic for me but the food is very good.

Juliette is one of our favorite restaurants. This time though I was a bit disappointed by the quality/dollar value. We selected the OC week special and got to choose one appetizer, one entree and one dessert for $50. The appetizer was excellent, my entrée was salty (fish) and not at the level of their standards.
The dessert was good, not remarkable. Overall, I didn't feel like the experience was worth the money.

Service was terrible. It was a busy night but table that sat down after us was served first. Food is a bit pricey for smaller portions as well. I used to love this place. I won’t be back.

This eatery is a popular restaurant to enjoy a good food and solid service. The ambiance is a bit loud but
that's part of the fun.

The food is well prepared with good ingredients, flavors and presentation without being overly fussy or pretentious.

I will return for sure.

Menu is very well put together.
The server was very attentive and helpful although she recommended the risotto based on the fact that it is “popular”...I asked if the Farro was chewy and again she said if was popular. I should have gone with my gut because it was very chewy...because farro is.
The drink menu is very interesting and had I not been driving I definitely would have indulged.
The bathroom was super shocking. It’s a great looking restaurant and the prices put it at a higher end or at lease mid range. So I expect a nice bathroom. Wow...it smelled like mildew and was showing it’s age.
I wouldn’t return although there were several dishes that sounded very good but there are so many good places in the area.

Excellent small plates menu - perfect for sharing. Great wine list and very affordable selections. Staff super friendly and accommodating of gluten allergy. Thank you for an excellent visit!

We were disappointed i the liquors carried in the bar. basically mostly craft cocktails. My husband and I

I have eaten here many times and i have always enjoyed the food & service. The only thing that disappointed me this time was that I ordered an ice tea which cost $4. And they refilled my glass without asking (which is pretty standard in any restaurant and I appreciate it). However, i was charged twice for the ice tea and I should have complained and had the second one removed from my bill but I was in a hurry to leave. To pay $8 for a plane house ice tea is ridiculous especially when I didn't ask for a second glass, they just refilled my glass.

The food was interesting, fresh and well prepared. The cocktails were inventive and balanced. The score is brought down due to the noise level. If we were in a New York diner it may have been expected but not in a Costa Mesa/Newport eatery.

The service was horrible. They couldn’t accommodate one person doing the Newport tasting menu since the rest were not. They completely forgot that we ordered more drinks during dinner and finally remembered and brought them After we had finished our meal. While the food was delicious, I wish we had gone elsewhere for dinner.

We came to this restaurant during Newport Beach restaurant week. We have been several times before but haven’t been for about a year. Our server, Alfred, was excellent. He made good recommendations and was very professional. For starters we had the tuna tartare crostini and the duck confit meatball. Next we had the butternut squash soup and the endive and little gem salad. Our entrees were roasted Thai snapper and roasted airline chicken breast. Everything was excellent! Dessert was apple crisp with ice cream. We had to take the apple crisp home because we were both full. The food was very fresh and light. I want to go back soon!

I’m a little torn. The food was absolutely delicious, but the quantity left a lot to be desired. I had the duck breast. It was great, very flavorful and juicy, but there were only 4-5 small slices on the plate, with about two tablespoons of potatoe purée. For $32, it wasn’t worth it. Similarly, my grandmother ordered the scallops and said they were very good, but there were only 4 or 5 small ones on the plate! Even as a starter, $26 seemed steep for so little food. We ended up stopping somewhere else to eat after our meal because none of us was full. The Hotel Nacional cocktail was very enjoyable!
It was also very loud there. The person across the table had difficulty hearing the conversation. Granted, it was during Newport Beach Restaurant Week, so it might have been more crowded than usual.

Another great experience at Juliette! We split two main courses and 4 small plates among 4 people so we could sample more items on the menu. They were all very good. Then pork cheek was at the top of my list for the small plates and the duck breast was cooked perfect. Everything had plenty of flavor. The chef coming out to say hello was a highlight as well. Thank you for a great time Juliette!

Juliette was very gracious and welcoming. Tatiana’s service was spot on; good explanation of our options, and attentive but not hovering. Charcuterie plate was a nice way to start. All the small plates were tasty and fun to share. Great Manhattans. We’ll be back soon.

Service was very good. Food was also very good.
Prices are expensive and portions are large.
Noise level was horrible but we enjoyed the food and we tried to hear each other.
I hope the restaurant does something in regards to noise level.
Overall was ok.

not a great experience. First the good news; our server was very friendly and tried to be there for us although she seemed distracted due to too many tables. Bad news; the restaurant was busy but it was so loud my wife and I couldnt have a conversation and we were sitting across from one another. We orderd drinks. It took way too long to get them. But, only one bar tender for the entire restaurant explains it. We ordered a small cheese and meat plate. Again it took too long to get it. But for some reason our dinner came to us too soon, before we were half done with cheese plate. My wife's Ahi tuna was excellent. My Hawaiian prawns were burnt to the point they were dried out and barely edible. my wife ordered an after dinner cocktail that was on the dessert menu but after several minutes our server came back to us to explain the bar tender didn't know how to make it! ? so why is it on the menu?
I think we caught them on a bad night. I have to think they are better than what we experienced but it didnt work for us this night.

Eating and Juliet is always great. The food is delicious and great service. Not overly friendly or outgoing but helpful. We got the worst table in the whole place, located right by the kitchen door and bar service area (which sucked because it was our anniversary). They wouldnt move us even though the place was less than 1/2 full. So that’s the only bummer.

I loved this restaurant and it was always a treat to go there. However, this week was such a bad experience, I will not return soon. The lady server was dull and with a bad attitude, leaving my guest for over 15 minutes in a half empty restaurant before offering her anything. Asking her if the swordfish was fresh, I seem to overwhelm her so she said probably not. Only to return and tell me it was. Well - it was not good either way. Had to be frozen, and definitely so overcooked we did not even finish it. My favorite dish, the FARRO, was littered with "pancetta" but mostly it tasted like burnt bones, which we were picking out of our teeth. Oddly when I had it the week before, there was no pancetta it in and it was as amazing as ever. By the time the server made her way back to our table, I had to ask her if we were supposed to identify how the fish should be cooked for our preference - she said "No, they always cook it through" - and yes it was cooked right through to a firm thin ordinary any fish manner. She could not have cared less nor comment. It was my friend's birthday and to avoid any further issues with Juliette, I took her next door to Moulin for dessert. When we got the check, the server said " we took the fish off the bill" and walked away - so we never asked for that. The lady server said she has been there 3 years and very proud of it. I never write this much detail but truly disappointed to take this place off my list and never go back.

Outstanding food and service! Great drinks! We went there for dinner date and had a great time... every single plate was excellent, will definitely be back there more often!
