Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Austin Downtown
The scent of wood fired smoke and fresh seasonal ingredients greets you at the door. Executive Chef Jacob Weaver’s menu fulfills that promise with his modern take on traditional favorites. House-made pastries and breads from Pastry Chef Carly Rossmeissl complements his menu as does Bar Manager Robert Millican’s inviting cocktail selections, curated wine list, and beer offerings.
Juliet’s patio is shaded, yet open and brimming with greenery. Indoors, you are seated comfortably within the three intimate dining rooms. The impressive bar area offers the perfect place for people watching, and gathering with friends and family. Like Italy, Juliet’s food and atmosphere are sumptuous; full of life and celebration.
Happy Hour every day from 3:00 pm - 7 pm IN THE BAR AREAS ONLY.
WE DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS FOR HAPPY HOUR...it is first-come, first-served.
Beautiful patio, great food, gluten-free options, and very solid service.
I ordered the grilled beef tenderloin and it was AMAZING! One of the best cooked meats I've ever eaten. The mushrooms and sauce were also very delicious.
Friendly staff, reservation online was easy, and I nice patio.
Really enjoyed our meal at Juliet's before heading to Zach for a play. The food was really excellent. There were 5 of us and we all loved our dinners. The service was wonderful, they made sure we were out the door early enough to walk over to the theater. So glad to have another great place to eat in the area.
This is a lovely restaurant. The food is nothing special. The staff seemed to lack energy.
Delicious!! Love the ambiance, too. Service was spot on.
Everything we order was amazing! Will be going back.
I enjoyed the Baked Torchio Pepperoni off the lunch menu, and the other members of my party enjoyed the grilled chicken salad - what a fantastic piece of meat on this salad! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Excellent food and service. The duck confit pasta was especially good. The carbonara definitely contained cream, which makes it (in my opinion) not carbonara, but it was tasty and filling nonetheless.
Highly recommend for happy hour or dinner. Delicious small plates and pasta dishes. Highly recommend
This place is a must! Incredible interiors. Awesome patio. The food is wonderful. Our particular server should' t be working there, but we made it work! Prices are fair.
Clams and pasta are my favorites. Good service and atmosphere.
For Austin Italian, the food was quite good. Donald was our waiter. He helped to make it a great experience for us. Very personable.
After a few iterations of restaurants, they finally got it right with Juliet Ristorante!
My wife and I went to Juliet for our 9th wedding anniversary. We had our first date there 12 years ago and I proposed there 9 1/2 years ago when the restaurant was Romeo's. So needless to say, it is a very special place for us. We told our server our story and he told the manager. They went out of their way to make sure we had a memorable experience. The food was amazing, our serverJesse was incredible, the hostess unknowingly sat us at the exact table where I proposed. Juliet has made us lifers. Thank you!
Clams and fetichine are excellent as is bourbon old fashioned
Food was good, loved the patio. Service was awful. Waiter was completely uninterested and rarely checked back in with us.
The service was slow and the food was mediocre, which was different than the first time I had been there when the meal was excellent. I informed the manager about the experience and the specific issues with the food and the manager thanked us for his input. We were both a little surprised that he didn't offer us any compensation like a free dessert or coffee etc. We paid the bill of course on the way out I discussed with the manager again that I was surprised that he didn't offer us anything to which he said He didn't know that was my expectation. I think they might need a new manager who knows how to treat customers.
Two of us dined al fresco and the night was very pleasant. We asked to move to an outdoor table and the staff did so very well. Our waitress, Hannah, was friendly, helpful with comments about wine selections and timely with things we requested. We had the meatballs for appetizer and they were excellent! They were very, very rich tasting and included a curiously pleasant mix with the pickled carrots. Very creative with a traditionally Italian dish! We also had the butter lettuce salad and the rigatoni. Both were very good. The setting is smart, modernish and fun. Parking is plentiful, too.
Juliet wowed us once again. The food was spectacular . The wait staff is good at their job but seem like they don't really want to be there. That puts a little bit of a damper on a place we love to go for special occasions.
We were celebrating my brothers engagement with a family brunch and I had made a reservation for 8 at 10 when they opened. We arrived and there were a number of nicely set tables in the shade. We were set at a completely under table in the sun. We asked to be sat at one of the set tables in shade and was told it was for a large party. I explained that we had made the reservation for eight and requested a nice table in shade for engagement. They said no it wasn't our reservation and kept us where we were. The tables sat empty for next 45 minutes and one ended up with 5 people. The service was fine. At 1030 I received a call letting me know our table was being given away. I told the server and said I think that nice table over in the shade is ours. He went to check and said there was a mixup but we still needed to be seated in the hot sun. The food was also ok. Nothing impressive but especially the service.
The food was great! Our server was on point! He described everything to us with wonderful detail, and he was attentive enough. We started with the octopus, which was cooked perfectly (not rubbery and not mushy). Then we did the melon and prosciutto, and that had soooo much flavor! Very tasty.
I had the scallops, which were again, cooked to perfection! They melted in my mouth. Not chewy and not raw.
The hubs got the lamb, another perfectly cooked dish!
So as you can tell, they know how to cook their food to perfection. Everything had great flavors. And it has a cute outdoor area for dining!
Went there during ACL weekend but since they have their own parking lot access was not a problem. The food and service were great but they have a limited but sufficient lunch menu on Saturday. No problems getting out even with the hoards heading to the festival. Note the main road is closed at the park. Go and enjoy good food and people watching!
This is one of my favorites restaurants ni Austin. The food is excellent , service is great , everything is really good.
We sat inside and had very quiet meal. There are a number of seating locations so noise level depends on where you sit. Fried garbanzos fantastic (after we added salt). Lasagna free form and much lighter than normal version. Duck pasta outstanding. Great wine selection. Waiter knowledgeable and friendly. Special meal.
Great location. The service and food is fabulous. Portions are not huge but not small, great for the average appetite. To our surprise the house wines were very good. Will be back.
Great food and excellent service. We sat in the front room which had roomy tables for parties of six.
The pork tenderloin was scrumptious
Excellent Italian food, starting with the bread! (and roasted garlic). Ample free parking for Juliet specifically (why is that not a category to check above? convenience in parking makes a difference on the experience). A lively scene, without being too loud.
Have been to Juliet's twice and had fabulous meals both times. The pastas are great, especially the lasagna. We appreciated the ability to have a conversation with our friends without blaring music and the din of so many restaurants. It is a great space with great food.
The cold tomato soup and steak salad were very good. We sampled 3 deserts and loved them all equally.
Loveeed this place. Great vibe, amazing food (the lamb gnocchi was amazing!).
While the food was very good our initial server was oblivious to our existence (talking to the table next to us for nearly 15 minutes). No water service or acknowledgment or anything. Very bizarre. Improved when we went up to the bar to eat.
We had a fantastic time at Juliet. Our server was very knowledgable and did an excellent job in helping us select from the menu. We were very happy with everything: food, drink and service!
Been there twice....first was for happy hour with another couple.....our waiter, Rob, was maybe one of the best waiters I had the pleasure to be served by in Austin or anywhere for that matter
liked his style and everything he suggested was fabulous.........food was good ....wine was good....bar area was not too loud......all in all very nice and would recommend
Second trip a couple days later for our anniversary.........everything was very nice.......again great food......great wine.....nice ambiance.......but the service was terribly mediocre........we were wishing for Rob the entire meal........nice young man but did not have a clue.......poured my wine first vs my wife's........served my salad first vs my wife........but the star of the night was the duck confit pasta dish.......we love duck and that dish was in the top three I've had ....please never take it off the menu........
we will be back this Friday for my sister-in-laws birthday celebration......hope Rob is working and we get his station
Great experience and Donald was a terrific server. Many thanks to Juliet for a great evening.
Great dining experience with delicious food and faultless service. Try the grilled romaine and the fritto misto!
My family loved Juliet! Our waitress was fantastic, although the kitchen got backed up and food delivery was a little slow. The food was delicious-everything including the Pasta special, lasagna, pizza, and New York strip was outstanding. Our waitress offered us complimentary desserts for the long wait! We were in a small room with a large noisy group, but after a Titos martini, the noise wasn't so bad. Try this place!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of Juliet. We were trying it out for the first time and everything was amazing. The staff were extremely well versed and gave perfect recommendations. I would recommend Juliet to anyone who wants to experience fine dining in Austin.
They need better service. Waited 15 minutes at table after being seated until someone talked to us. Waiter was nice but had no backup support.
We had a fantastic dinner with great service. The waitress recommended the seafood, the scallops were outstanding. I had the pasta with chicken. The pasta was homemade and wonderful. We also had the olive oil with bread tasting, which I would also highly recommend. The waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful. I will for sure go back and would definitely recommend it.
The restaurant has a great decor and ambience, the service is quite excelent, food is great although i can't give it 5 stars because we had some some fried mozzarella that was not bad at all but very fast food like, apart from that everything was very good!
Highly recommend it for a dinner date or a small group nice dinner.
