Hit Julia's on a Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly not crowded. $16 generous Mimosa pitcher. Fabulous food and big portions with friendly staff.
Nice place to meet a friend for lunch. Large menu with many different options. Very good food.
Julia's is a long-time favorite, but just recently it has been the perfect spot for catching up one-on-one with old friends. Service was very efficient and pleasant, the space was sunny, and the noise level was just right for private conversation, but you felt you could laugh out loud without worry that you might offend your neighbor. Love Julia's!
Julia’s is a quintessential diner. Large portion dishes that retain good quality per bite. Why do a Denny’s or iHop when you can get the same dish prepared better here and support a local neighborhood business.
Burnt French toast and runny eggs. Slow service and there were only there tables with guests.
Not exactly the experience we were looking for.
Eat here often and always have good food and good service. Especially like their breakfast and that they open at 7AM.
Soup was a bit salty; otherwise it’s good. Salad was fresh. Price was very reasonable. Server was friendly But after bill was paid; a lady who works there; I suppose, but not our server, came to our table and snatched the bill away without a word , which was sort of impolite
It was a very cute breakfast place. It's not a fancy place but I very cozy place to go have a wonderful breakfast to chat with friends.
The food was good but service felt slow. I had the Orange French toast and it was flavorful, but I don't think the syrup on the side was real maple syrup so that made me sad.
I took my nephew there for breakfast. He had two blueberry pancakes and I had one. No other drinks or coffee. The bill was $25 before tax or tip. Around $34 for three pancakes. They were large and good but it seemed excessive.
Made a reservation for mother's day with 3 people. Get there and were told they dont for reservations for less than 5, but, should be a 10 minute wait. 45 minutes later, after finding out our names weren't even written down, we were seated. Food was decent, felt full, but, not satisfied. Not worth it, wont be returning.
Julia's is a wonderful neighborhood gem that we go to every once in a while. It was a busy Mother's Day weekend and we were glad to have made a reservation for four. While it took almost 10 minutes before we were acknowledged, we were seated shortly after our reservation time.
The food and Bloody Marry's with sake were tasty and up to par. The ambiance was cozy, friendly and, despite the busy weekend, unhurried. Afterward we all said we needed come back again.
We were a party of 6 for Mother’s Day brunch. Been there before. Food is usually good.
We were seated next to hallway to bathroom. I kept having to dodge people heading to and from the head. My dish arrived barely warm. It was good though.
We were winding up and getting ready to go, when the host apologetically asked us to scram-as people were waiting.
Busy day at Julia’s!
I would recommend them-but speak up if they seat you in the biffy.
This place reminds me of Seattle before it became a different type of city with cool and hip and pricey restaurants. Food and service were good. But the smell of old building was strong in the dining room and restroom.
My first time eating at Julia’s was a Sunday brunch with a colleague. Definitely will be returning with family and friends. The food was amazing and the staff very warm and friendly. The coffee alone was reason for a return visit. Neighborhood parking was not a problem, even on a busy weekend. Loved that I was able to make reservations as it can get busy. To note, the restaurant allows calm dogs to accompany patrons. We loved this aspect of the restaurant, but it might be an issue for those with allergies.
In a cute part of town. The servers were very friendly but did not listen to our orders very well. Both of our orders were wrong when we were served. Also, when we got to the table the silverware was wrapped but unclean and there were empty creamers left on the table. They need to tidy up a little better, that's all.
Everything was excellent! We had Eggs Benedict and special ordered it with chorizo, and the berry crepes. Yum! Fun wait staff and cute house atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
The food and staff are always gr8! Your food is generally prepared quickly and accurately. Service with a smile!
Searched for Chicken Fettuccine online, it was on the menu but when we arrived at the restaurant they were no longer serving this dish. Should have updated the menu online. Ordered fish/chips but when the plate arrived the fish was near burnt. Awful, with all the choices in Seattle we will not return.
The food and service were outstanding. It was the first time we had been, we will be back.
Food was okay. Staff seemed overwhelmed.
Had a great Sunday breakfast and although it was crowded as usual I was seated right away as I made reservations through open table. Made it very easy to enjoy a meal!
Great service , very friendly staff. Nice potions and fairly good.
The food wasn’t piping hot but that was my only complaint
We were a party of 8 for Saturday breakfast/brunch, celebrating my daughter's 19th bday. I made arrangements ahead of time with Lauren, and she could not have been more accommodating, personable, and professional. A table was set up and ready for us upon arrival, service was excellent, the food was delicious and all meals were hot upon delivery. It was a terrific experience and we will most definitely return. Thank you Lauren and staff for making my daughter's birthday so special. See you next time. Cindy.
I enjoyed my visit to Julia's for lunch with a friend. The menu options included exactly what we wanted - a soup and sandwich combo for a reasonable price. There was one problem with my meal. The meat in my sandwich was a bit tough and stringy, but it was tolerable and I didn't want to complain. I was more interested in enjoying my conversation with my friend. We hadn't seen each other in a long time, so we had a lot of catching up to do. We appreciated having the opportunity to talk as long as we wanted to.
The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient and he was available as needed without being intrusive.
As for whether the atmosphere was quiet, I would say it might have been a little better if the volume of the sound system had been a little lower.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would be happy to go there again.
Food was ok. Bussers were loud when clearing the tables. Not as good as it used to be.
Service was slow despite the low attendance, the burger I ordered was way overcooked, the fries and hashbrowns were very undercooked, the English muffins in the eggs benedict was also not very cooked. Mimosas were ok if small. Very disappoint, won't be back.
BEST service BEST food. I’ve never had a better breakfast to be honest.
I was disappointed that although I had put in a reservation via Open Table, the restaurant did not have my name down. When I made them aware, they put me at the bottom of the list of walk-ins then forgot that I was on the list! I would recommend calling the restaurant directly.
The service was prompt, friendly, and fun. It was homey good food and I appreciated the gluten free and vegan options.
Great for families. When children pick a place it isn't always - as in fast food - a place where grownups would be happy. Julia's is. In addition to that, it has gluten free bread. And, since Taste discontinued its Reuben sandwich, Julia's is the only place in this end of Seattle which has the Reuben.
food was good, service was quite slow, but kind. Restaurant was very quite but the noise from outdoor work as extreme.
I've loved going to Julia's since it was the original Julia's 14 Carrot Cafe. The last couple of years the quality of the food has gone downhill, and it's a less pleasant place to spend time. Last Sunday was the last time we'll be going. I say this with much sadness, but the all the food for 3 of us was inedible. We could not cut the muffin on the Benedict with a steak knife, the crepes were gummy, the hash browns were mushy, the coffee was weak - we left almost everything on the plate, but the server said nothing, also no coffee refills. Service was quick: the instant we put our forks down the plates were taken away, and immediately all the water glasses were also cleared off. (There were empty tables the whole time.) Three breakfasts, three coffees and one mimosa ,and a tip came to $80. So disappointing, but won't be hoping it was a fluke and giving it another try.
Food was great, service was excellent. Was vey later back and relaxing. Would go and eat there again in a heart beat!
I was hesitant to visit Julia's in Wallingford because of some of the negative reviews on their service. We were a little over a mile away so we risked it. Fortunately we were seated in Daniel's section. Daniel gave us 5 star treatment from the initial drink order straight until it was time to go. He was warm and inviting. We felt very comfortable there.
The food was great. He made sure that our order came out exactly as requested.
When I go back I will certainly ask for Daniel.
We all know it's all about the server and the food. 2 for 2.
This was our second visit. The first time I had a wonderful entree. This time I chose wrong with the oatmeal/buckwheat pancake. It was dry and didn't taste that great but everybody else enjoyed their meal.
Mother's Day breakfast (only it was on the day before to miss the crowds). Good pancakes. Sausage patties slightly spicy and quite tasty. Coffee was good and refills came often. My daughter said the hot chocolate was tasty. Wife had the egg scramble with tomato and feta cheese. Could have stood more of the feta but it was good. Nice ambiance and friendly, efficient service. Located in the lovely Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. Have eaten at Julia's a few times over the years and it has remained a consistently good dining experience.
This was our second time at Julia's using an Open Table reservation. The first experience was not good as the service was very poor and portion of corned beef hash amounted to about a quarter of a cup... I did write up a rather not very complementary review. However, this second visit we ordered off the lunch menu and everything was good, not greasy or over sauced.. a good serving amount, and our waiter was very attentive and appreciative of a good tip whereas before the waitress told us that automatically 18 percent was added to the bill... and we sure wished we hadn't contributed that amount for such poor, slow service; we saw her one time and she had messed up the order because she really was not listening to what we ordered and didn't seem to care.
Anyway, that was then and like I said, everything went fine this last time. I don't see that we got credit on Open Table for two visits, however, so I sure would like that to occur!!!
As always we had a wonderful breakfast. We took the family on Easter Sunday and I'm glad we can now do reservations.
