Julia's is s lovely restaurant in the beautiful old Julia Morgan dining room of the Beekeley City Club. The food is excellent and the service is very good: An elegant Berkrley experience.
This Julia Morgan building is a Berkeley treasure. Both food and service were very good.
We came here with my fiance and his mother, we all enjoyed a very hearty, traditional-feeling nice European-inflected meal. Lovely, traditional, absolutely perfect for older family visiting from out of town.
We have always enjoyed our dining experience at the club, but this time it was marred by a loud business luncheon group at the next table. Not your fault, but I didn’t think you encouraged that.
Stunningly beautiful space, delicious food (with emphasis on high-quality, fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients), welcoming staff, excellent service—it is always a great pleasure to dine at Julia’s!
We visited in late December for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was warm in feeling with a sense of stature. The architecture of Julia Morgan influenced the experience. My wife and I waited in the adjoining library for the rest of our party. We were seated on time with courtesy and respectfulness. Our dinner was excellently prepared. The service was timely and sensitive to our needs. Following our meal we leisurely enjoyed desserts and beverages.
Lovely quite restaurant. Food and wine are 5 Star.
Simple and elegant dining room. One can visit the first two floors of this historical building. The menu is not elaborate but the food is quite good. I had the crepe and my friend had the petrale sole. Both were very good and generous.
Impressive room but enormous space, chilly because of high ceilings and not particularly intimate.
Although we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated for our reservation, the food was terrific and the service good. It's refreshing to eat in a quiet spot where conversation can be held at a normal volume. If anything, portions could be smaller. Overall, it was a fine experience.
