Judson’s Steakhouse at The BOB
Our server was awkward and made us feel really uncomfortable. She did not go over the specials, we heard other waitstaff give quite the opening run down. She barely said two words and they were “sounds good” even when that response made zero sense. Our food was blah and cold. I got the hanger steak Oscar. Asked for it medium it was way past well done. The Oscar, if you call it that, looked like canned tuna. There was no sauce at all. It was over cooked and super cold. Probably won’t be back.
Excellent service and amazing food
Expensive, but great food. We had gift cards, otherwise I'm not sure we would have ever have gone here. Glad we did though!
Food was pretty good. Service was very poor. Wait for check alone was nearly 15 minutes.
Great steaks! And very accommodating. Location was very cool. Right downtown. It's in an old building (The BOB) that has other venues and live music. Delicious dessert. Peasant staff . I would definitely go back.
My steak was so overcooked, I had to send it back. I ordered it medium rare, but I got a well done steak. Not even a sliver of pink anywhere. It took several minutes to find a waitress to mention the issue to. They did cook me a new one, but I didn't get the replacement steak until everyone else was done eating.
We had a reservation for 5 of us, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a toddler. The staff was fantastic, the food was great and though there wasn't a kids menu for the toddler, the staff was very accommodating and created a dish for the little guy.
The steaks were great, and the sides were amazing. As a table we ordered hanger steaks, a filet and a bone in ribeye. Sides were whipped yukon, asparagus, broccoli and fries. The veggies were done to perfection, the steaks were very very good.
Side note, the building "The B.O.B." is a fantastic place to hang out either before or after dinner. Great spot, we will be back next time we are in town.
I really don't want to be required to write more review.
Our waiter was fantastic, the food was phenomenal. I can’t wait to dine here again!
Great food and excellent service! Nice setting!
Our waiter was exemplary. Definitely a well seasoned server. I cannot remember his name but he was a red head with a beard and glasses. Food was amazing, best porterhouse steak I’ve ever had. Will definitely partake again soon.
Great service by Brandon!!
Good food. Terrible bathroom.
Bone in ribeye was prepped per my request and was delicious. Appreciate the gluten free options for appetizers, main course, sides and dessert.
The Charcuterie platter was great and we thought a great value. The Hanger Steak Oscar was perfect. Steak so tender. Brussel Sprout side dish was the best Brussels of our lives. Yum! Lamb Chops we delicious too! Loved the Blood Orange sorbet, perfect way to end the meal. Very friendly and attentive service. The only downside was the restrooms. They are outside the restaurant and are obviously shared by the bars at the BOB. That was pretty dumpy and although the sinks and toilets looked clean, the rest of the areas like the walls, not so much. Not going into details, but it was gross. We had an early 5pm reservation so the place just opened. No excuse for the bathrooms.
The bouncers at the door were rude and arrogant. Will not be going back.
Great food !!!
Great food and service we will be returning next time we are in Grand Rapids
Went for our son’s 18th birthday and noted this in our reservation but nothing special was done to recognize this. Our waiter started strong but then left us unattended for long periods and we saw other people eating who came in after us while we waited to order. My husband and I both ordered wedge salads but only I got one. Since it was getting late, we chose not to say anything as it would take too long to rectify things. Then when all the steaks came out my husband order med med rare and it came back was med well. They fairly quickly brought him a new one but the rest of us were just about finished with our meals by then.
I always rave about Judsons as the best steak house in GR but it did not live up to it last night yet I will give it another try still as we have had previous great experiences.
Delicious prom night dinner for 2 young adults on their way to graduating soon & off to college.
Their meals were delicious.
The staff was very kind, helpful & complimentary.
When one of the meals came out completely wrong (as in a totally different type of meal), the server corrected the food & adjusted the bill.
Overall it was a nice evening & one of the teens stated that the filet mignon was done to perfection & as they should be - seared on the outside & slightly chilled inside. His father is the former chef at Mountain Jacks from the 80’s, which was THE steak place to go for important nights out. So he’s quite a discerning food critic on steak dinners out.
If you’re not aware or prepared, all items are ordered aka cart.
Overall def a great date night spot!
Great steak!! Definitely would recommend trying this place out
The service was slow. Maybe out of practice because of covid.
We were celebrating a birthday with family and we had absolutely outstanding service. Our food was incredible as well. We would highly recommend!
They don’t rush you through your meal and the food is delicious!
Overall everything was awesome, especially Lauren. She was perfectly sweet and accommodating. The only possibility negative thing I would say is that the food could’ve been a little hotter.
Probably the finest bone in ribeye I have ever had. Not shy on the peppercorn seasoning extremely tender. Potatoes were boring need help. First asparagus we got was almost raw the replacement was outstanding. The noise level was great not load at all.
We had a very nice dinner. We order two different cuts of meat and weren’t very impressed with temperature or taste. Appetizers, sides and dessert were very good. We enjoyed the sides more than the steaks. Our server was nice but also bland.
We love Judson’s!!! The service is always great as is the food!!! We always well taken care of there!!!
The food was good, and the staff was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable and did an excellent job. The hostess was excellent and took great care of my wife who is recovering from knee surgery.
Great service and great food. If you are visiting the Grand Rapids area, check out Judson's. Plus there are other bars/restaurants that you can go to before or after your meal. The building is connected to the venue, Monroe 21 and would be a great place to go before you see a concert. We stayed at the Amway and hotel and this restaurant was in walking distance from the hotel.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Had a great time, food was excellent. Will be back.
My husband and I had never been here before. The food was amazing, by far the best food we’ve had out. Service was great.
Lauren was great, the food and atmosphere were wonderful
Hubby and I treated ourselves to a meal at Judsons after eloping and had the most devine meal in our entire life! Could not have had better service, food, and a safe night out! We will be back!
Had reservations and booked Amway hotel for our 40th anniversary and arrived at Judsons to find you closed. Even got confirmation. A big waste of money and disappointment. Never ate since everyone was booked
They weren’t open, they should not be taking reservations if they are not open. I normally wouldn’t leave a review but we went on business and couldn’t eat because they took our reservation even though they are closed.
This place is closed. I showed up on the day/time of my reservation and there is no one in the building. The website should be updated so people don’t plan around somewhere that isn’t open.
