JTK Cuisine & Cocktails
Service was really great, the entire team made us feel welcomed. Server was willing to modify our entrees to our liking to make the experience unique. The host was very attentive and was happy to discuss ingredients and techniques of preparation. The support service was very friendly and attentive as well. My love and I had a wonderful evening celebrating her birthday! Highly recommended for any occasion. JTK is one of my favorite restaurants in the city!
Great service, tremendous whiskey list and the food and desserts were great.
Customer service and food quality 5+ stars. Noise level too much for me but the other qualities outweigh the noise level.
We will be back. Thanks
We haven't been to JTK in a while. Enjoyed our meal. Three of us ordered lamb chops, but only two platings available. We were promised a little reprieve on our bill, as a result, but that did not happen. We wanted to buy a bottle of champagne for another table of about 10, flagged the waiter, got the wine list, then he disappeared. I gave four stars, maybe 3 is more accurate.
Special occasion was announced but nothing done
Chicken added to wedge salad dry
Steaks under cooked
3 different Preferred alcohol choices requested not available
The rib eye steak needed a little more seasoning but otherwise was great. Cocktails, dinner, coffee and dessert was less that $100 for two people. Wonderful service.
This restaurant was very nice and all the waiters were very professional and apologetic about any wait time that we may have had.
Great food and fantastic cocktails! Service was amazing.
While the service was good, the food was sadly mediocre. Despite the location in an historic building, the food was under seasoned and mediocre. The steak & eggs was bland and tasteless. The parmesan truffle fries and sweet corn fritter appetizers were good but nothing to write home about. The pork schnitzel was ordinary. I really wanted to like this restaurant but sadly left disappointed.
Everything here was perfect! Had Pinot wine that was exquisite & my steak was cooked perfectly ! The pasta was also delicious. Dinner here couldn’t have been better. I will be back.
Dine inside or out. Ambiance and service is great. Noise level is low. Great food.
My girlfriend and I took my parents while they were visiting from out of state. They were accommodating of my girlfriends specific food allergies and the waiter was fantastic all the way through, which matched the food and drinks.
We have visited JTK for years now and are never disappointed. This time the food delivery was a little too quick (which we've never had in the past ... and yes, we realize this is a minor problem especially compared to delayed food delivery), but our server was gracious about it and we didn't mind. We always know we can count on JTK for a special experience and we weren't disappointed this weekend.
Hidden gem, great food, service and price! We were seated in a back room next to a larger group, there isn’t much sound barrier which made the noise level somewhat uncomfortable.
Great atmosphere and location is beautiful amazing service staff. The plating and food was ok. My parents split the lamb and the just brought it out in two bowls for them instead of plates. Kinda hard to cut a piece of meat in a bowls. I had shrimp peen Alfredo and it tasted like what I would serve at home and cold.
We liked the set up and the coffee press at table was great but since no one was there we thought waiting 50 min for food and then it being cold was not the greatest others ate before us that came after. (5 tables only in place had people)
Although a bit sparse for my taste, the ambiance is above average. But the food was super. Both of us enjoyed the Date Night special, ordering the salmon over Parmesan risotto w/Brussel sprouts. Only comment about the food was that the crème brûlée was of pudding consistency and the toasted top shell was a bit thick. Other than that, the experience was grade A. Anxious to go back.
Price of many items, very expensive, but there were also items of good value/price.
Loved the atmosphere and the service was excellent.
We had an excellent experience at JTK! Enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious, our server was knowledgeable about the dinner specials and answered any questions we had before we ordered.
We have eaten at JTK’s several times. The food and ambience are excellent. This is the first time we have ever had to send back the food because it was just lukewarm. They corrected the problem and we had a great time. Their crème brûlée is the best that I have ever had. We would highly recommend JTS’s to everyone. This is one of the best restaurants in Lincoln Nebraska.
We’ve been to JTK many times, but I have to say the last two times have been subpar. Most recently, we went there for a date night meal. The balsamic salad dressing was awful, my chicken was over cooked and the asparagus was yellow and soggy. The creme brûlée was ok, but the custard part was a little runny. Our waitress was relatively new and she did a good job, but we were disappointed in the overall experience. When you spend $120.00 for dinner and wine, you should have much better food.
The wagyu beef is amazing just like the rest of the menu and service.
Our Easter lunch was wonderful. Great service.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and appointed. Our server was fantastic. She accommodated my daughter's food preferences and was extremely helpful and timely with anything we needed. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. I will always recommend JTK's to anyone looking for a special occasion dinner experience.
Great food, great service, our server was making sure we were happy with our experience. We like a more quiet atmosphere and that we mattered. We will be back and shared our experience with friends.
Yummy food, nice atmosphere. Food was a bit pricey, but taste and presentation made it worth the money.
Great food! Friendly staff! Great date night place!
Food was excellent. We had the ribeye and rack of lamb—both were cooked perfectly. Sides were all cooked and seasoned well. Only negative was the service. If you bring your own wine (in our case 2007 Ridge Monte Bello), don’t expect your server to pour for you. Bar tender did decant it for us.
We had reservations and I requested a table or booth that was relatively quiet. This was done and the location was perfect! Service was excellent and accurate. Our food was delicious and served in a manner that allowed us to enjoy each course. It was a delightful evening, well worth the cost.
I was very disappointed by our experience. The food was good, not great, but good. The service was terrible. My wife and I ordered a Cheese and Charcuterie board to start, and it was mostly cheese. Only 1 type of meat, I think they could charge a little more and give a couple of meats as a variety. We ordered salads before our meal, but when they came out, our entree followed immediately. They asked if we were ready, we had just got salads, so they took our food to sit under a heat lamp. The server should have staggered the order, or the chef should have fired the entree after the salad left. Poor execution. As a result, our food was overcooked since they did not fire new entrees, my wife was offered a new entree, but when it came out, they had an extra ingredient on it that was not on the first. Finally, for dessert, the creme brulee. The sugar on top was so thick, you couldn't easily break through it. And because of how much sugar was on it, it ended up being overly bitter as it burned too much.
Additionally, on the service, we did not see our server much, water did not get refilled frequently, no check in to see how the meal was (when it was overcooked), and we had to grab a different server to help us. Not once did a manager stop by to see how things were going. After we ordered, we heard other servers offering some special for the night, but couldn't hear what it was, our server barley spoke.
I was greatly disappointed, and most likely wont go back. A real shame, since there are not a lot of upscale restaurants in the Haymarket area. The owner needs to go to Omaha and sit at the Boiler Room to see what JTK needs to look and feel like. The food has promise, but a swing and a miss on execution.
Arrived 15min early, they were able to seat us early. We were seated over a vent in the floor against a small 2 top against the wall. Complained about the vent they offered to try and move us since they were booked said they might have to put a menu on the floor over the vent. They did move us to a booth , there was plenty of open tables and other more desirable 2 tops why we weren’t seated there first of all I can’t figure out. Other couples came in shortly after and were seated at the more desirable locations. The food was fair, the Wagu steak had no seasoning very unfavorable for the market price of $65 it was a big disappointment. The scallops were ok, you got 3 scallops on top of Risotto which was gooey and not creamy. Thank goodness we brought our own wine, best part of the meal. Really wanted to like the place just wasn’t impressed with anything about it.
Seven of us had a delightful dining experience at JTK. The service was excellent as was the food. We were even able to converse easily, a rarity in most restaurants. The wine list offered lots of choices. I recommend JTK to everyone.
A great night from the appetizers to the entree and coffee to wrap up! Great food and Marley did a great job serving us!
The burger was good. Salad was good too.
Caesar Salad was excellent. The house Chardonnay was excellent....but the pour was unusually small.
The service was very good and the chef accommodated our requests. However, the salmon was over-cooked and mildly fishy and the pasta was fair. Overall, not bad, but I wouldn't recommend out of town guests to spend their valuable time/money here.
My clients enjoyed their beef steaks, great selection of wines. My grilled salmon came with risotto which was too salty for my taste. We shared some dessert as we weren’t hungry after the main dishes
The date night menu option gives an affordable way to try new choices while providing multiple courses. Quality of the food was outstanding and service was friendly and efficient.
Was seated promptly and asked if we wanted glass of water; we said yes but the water came very late. Got the feeling our waiter was inexperienced. Nice young guy, was trying hard. Food was very good and the highlight of the experience (as it should be!). Was mildly annoyed when I received check. While I thought the entree prices listed on the menu were all very fair, the 8 oz. beef filet I ordered didn't have a price listed, just 'market price'. Didn't want to be 'uncool' and ask waiter how much when ordering. Did receive sticker shock when bill listed price @ $65! $40-$50 would have been no surprise but felt slightly abused when most of the other entrees were priced in $20s. The food was excellent but guessing I'll need to do more 'market research' when it comes to undisclosed entree prices.
It was very good but service seemed a little slower than I would have liked. The waiter said he’d be right back to refill our water and never did. I had the Half Rack of Lamb which was delicious. My boyfriend had the Wagyu steak... we knew market price would be high but wish we would have asked first.... $65! Definitely caught us by surprise. We also had the Truffle Pomme Frites which were awesome and a huge portion!
The only negative in our experience was that there was a wedding reception across the hall with little children in the hallway screaming. It took about 20 minutes for the doors to get shut and then it was excellent
