JP Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
I have been to the Westin bar and restaurant twice in the last week and the wine selection was INCREDIBLY limited. Very disappointing. I thought it was a fluke the first night but then in the restaurant 4 days later, they had less than half the wine list available. This was on top of a fairly uninspiring menu. Our server, Conrad was quite kind. It was just disappointing considering the competition in Charlotte these days.
My dining experience was good, had one of their specialty cocktails, that was good but not quite what I was expecting. Had the turkey burger and sweet potato tots, which were great. Unable to try any of the desserts, as I was too full!
Went for Mother's day brunch . The food choices were the best I have ever seen at a brunch , including raw shrimp and crab, prime rib and pork, omelet station and flat bread pizza, among other items. Service was impeccable as well. Special holiday pricing was in effect, so it was pricey however it was all about the MOMS!
While the food was delightful, our service was horrendous. We went for Easter brunch. We literally sat for 15 minutes before we were even greeted. And even then the greeting was "no one's come by yet? Well then I'll guess I'll have to take care of you". Our coffee and drinks were never refilled. Dirty plates were not removed from the table, leading to stacks of dirty dishes teetering on the edges. We waited forever for the bill to arrive.
We traveled to Uptown Charlotte for Easter Brunch. This was by far the best brunch we have ever experienced. The food was excellent with local southern favorites along with upscale Easter cuisine. The service was exceptional. The management was very attentive to all and made a point to come around to all the tables to make sure everything was good. Will be back to this restaurant for sure.
JP Charlotte was fantastic! For me, I was on a date with my girlfriend and decided to take her out for the night. Perfect getaway for the night and awesome food. We will defiantly be back there again, whether it's for date night or Sunday lunch! Thanks JP Charlotte!
Food was ok, but really would have a hard time recommending to anyone other than someone staying a the Westin. I had the scallops with a side of spinach. Nothing wrong with any of it, but nothing special either. Did have decent number of gluten free dishes. Friendly but not the most efficient service.
Food was good but the service was terrible. There was a conference and a marathon happening this week and reservations were hard to get. Should have been a red flag that this place had several openings. 40 minutes until drinks came and that is after I hunted down the waitress to ask if she could take our order. Manager ended up taking our order since our server seemed overwhelmed. Food was good but not worth the extremely slow service.
The last time I was out of town I went to a Wyndham restaurant. On this Charlotte visit, I chose to dine at a Wyndham restaurant given that my last experience was - well - great. The JP Charlotte did not disappoint. I went on a Saturday night when Halloween and a college basketball game were running. The next day was a football game and there was obviously a conference or two getting ready to start at the Wyndham. Still, the place wasn't crowded or noisy (a personal preference). The food was delicious and fairly priced. Looks like next time I'm in a town with a Wyndham, I'll check out the restaurant and see if the streak continues.
I ate at this restaurant three times as I was there for a conference. I had two business meetings and lunch with a colleague. The service was excellent two of the three times. It took awfully long to get our food. Other than that, food was excellent, atmosphere was great and two out of three is not bad.
My husband and I wouldn't usually go to a restaurant this expensive but we won a $100 voucher to JP Charlotte for the Westin Charlotte Valentine's Day photo contest.
Our service and food were both very good. JP Charlotte has local beers like Noda Brewing on draft, which we ordered. We also took advantage of our gift certificate by ordering an appetizer of cornbread, two small plates; tuna tartare and blackened sea scallops, and the NY strip for two. Everything we ordered was delicious, and our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.
Portions are very small though.
Thank you JP’s staff for saving our anniversary dinner! We had made reservations at another restaurant. I dressed up in a semi-formal cocktail dress and my husband in a suit and tie. We get to the first restaurant and we are completely overdressed. People were in shorts and workout attire. IT was odd because we had dined here before and it was fantastic. Then we looked at the menu and all the nicer items like veal and fish have been removed and it’s all chicken and pasta. Then a big group of kids came in for prom-night. I guess that restaurant is struggling, so they changed the menu. We left. Saturday night; where to go last minute? Thanks to Open Table we found JP’s. We told them our circumstance and they were absolutely amazing! Danielle sat us at a beautifully romantic table. I cannot review the standard menu because our fabulous server, Korin, asked if we’d put our meal in the hands of Chef Lenny. We happily agreed and he did not disappoint! He made us two lovely light dishes and then they served us some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. They truly salvaged our special night that had gotten off to a rocky start. Thank you! We will absolutely return!
