Food was good
This is the BEST Chinese food in the Coachella Valley, bar none!
Second time dining at Joy. Not very pleased with the service. Our server was very nice but overloaded with customers. The manager was helping out, but totally ignored our table. When we let him know we were feeling neglected, the manager made excuses and said that his purpose was to help the server. He never did understand that he, the manager, was the one that was ignoring us. The overall tenor was one of a lack of enthusiasm that we were there. Although the food was tasty, we probably won't return.
Always the Best !
Beautiful atmosphere - always great food. We come here often.
Excellent food and service again—third visit in last month.
Second time here. Just as good as the first. Not as interesting because we just had appetizers and Dim Sum. Excellent Service quality ingredients.
We love the food always fresh and hot and the seafood the best they know how to cook it perfectly
Consistently delicious, always great service!
Joy has outstanding food and a fun and super friendly staff. We crave all the dishes. Fresh meals with amazing flavors!!!
Excellent food and service. The staff went out of their to accommodate a large group.
Great food. Best Asian cuisine in the Coachella Valley. Try the steamed fish. Walnut prawns and filet mignon. All are fantastic. Before or after concerts boxing matches or anytime.
Joy never disappoints! Always wonderful food and service
I must say this is the first time my husband and I have had dinner at The Joy and were disappointed...we sat in the bar area which was rather noisy and we ordered Sesame Chicken which was not at all what we expected..I expected chicken prepared with vegetables and perhaps noodles with sesame seeds on top - the chicken was coated and apparently deep fried and did not really even taste like chicken - I do not think we would order this again ...
Food is always great but the noise level in restaurant on a busy weekend makes it very difficult to have a conversation.
Must have been a different chef, food tasted different. Noise level terrible....big party dining and no attempt to quiet them. Have dined here before, not sure if we will return.
All 4 in our group rate the food and service with the highest ranking. And, we eat out a lot and are very picky.
Hands down the best Chinese food we have had in years. Huge portions, great selection of menu items. It is quite noisy and it is made worse by the awful, u shaped booth we were given, facing into the room. Uncomfortable to talk to the person next to you and impossible for people across the table to hear each other. That aside the meal was well worth the trip.
We go here often, as we live in Indio. The service is always wonderful, as is the food. I rated the food a 3 star on this review as it was not hot and just so-so. Our leftovers were mixed up with our friend's also.
Best Asian restaurant in the desert. It’s been a long time since the area had decent Chinese food but here it is. Service was a bit slower than last time but it was really busy even on a Tuesday night. Don’t go without a reservation.
Always great food. Never disappointed
Great in every way strongly recommend. It was a 75tj birthday and it was spectCular
I was meeting my daughter who was taking Amtrak from Hollywood to Indio.
Amtrak arrives at 9, so we got downstairs from our room at about 10 we were greeted and given a lovely table and we ordered to Tito's dirty martinis which were outstanding. They brought us water and we asked questions regarding the menu which they checked with the chef and there was no problem on them accommodating my daughter in any way shape or form. Service was excellent the manager came over and double-checked our service and if we needed anything and the food was out standing. But the bill was even a bigger shocker very decently priced and the fact that they stay open until 11 p.m. was within itself a gift. Highly recommend and would go again * 10
Awesome as always
Truly enjoyed this, our fourth, visit to Joy. Treated company from out-of-town to dinner.
The Asian food was some of the best I've ever had. Will return there in a heart beat. Can't wait to try another entree.
Very good service! Attentive to needs and very prompt srevice. All food was hot!
We have been to Joy many times and have always had excellent service and food. Based on that we decided to take our son there to celebrate his birthday. It didn’t turn out well, we made a reservation and were seated within a few minutes of our scheduled time. It went down hill from there, it was over ten minutes before our waiter arrived. What we found out later, from the manager was that he was working a large party in another room which meant we rarely saw him. It took 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and they weren’t hot. Our dinner took almost 90 minutes and when it did arrive the waiter said ‘did you want rice’ then he disappeared and after almost 10 minutes I went and found the manager, he brought our rice. The manager then started watching and saw that our waiter never came back. He then came over and took care of us. Unfortunately the evening was ruined for my son.
While I have had many good experiences at Joy, this was not one of them. I would say that if you go there and the service seems very slow, don’t wait as long as I did to find the manager.
Excellent meals and service!
Food always great very noisy
The food is excellent, but don't be in a hurry. Service is slow.
We were happy with our dinner
I just wish the waiter remembers our anniversary
Had a wonderful dinner as usual. Took friends who have never been there and enjoyed it very much. The lemon drop martini is a must. We had soup egg rolls and 4 dishes. Took home half of our dinner. Service was great, no complaints.
We were going to a Concert at Fantasy Springs and decided to try "Joy" before it started. Food was very good and portions were large. We were able to keep our leftovers at the restaurant and pick it up after the concert. Nice touch.
The food & service were excellent. We were searching for Peking Duck and found it here. It was delicious and we will definitely be back.
We have been here three times in just two months because the food and service is very good. The night shift Manager, Roy, happened to be here every time and we were quite taken by his professionalism and friendliness. Every time he has stopped by our table to check on our comfort and satisfaction, I noticed he seems to check every guest's table.
With the quality food, caring service from all the staff and the manager's attention to our satisfaction, why would anyone not be a repeat customer.
Been here many times. The food was exceptionally good. The 5 of us shared lemon shrimp, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken and fried rice. All were outstanding. Many tables of 6 or more so it became a bit noisy.
Outstanding meal and service
Unbearable noise! Brand new Manager could not answer basic questions about the menu & wine. Calamari dish was greasy & rubbery. Other dishes were acceptable but not exceptional for the price.
