Journeys East at Tulalip Resort Casino Ratings and Reviews
Fun and delicious meal at one of our favorite restaurants. Made a reservation online after visiting several previous times and waiting 15-30 minutes for a table of 2. We were seated before our reservation time and already had our beers by 9:30pm and we heard other diners being quoted a 20 minute wait for a party of 2 before we were seated. We had a very nice server and she made the evening even more pleasant. We had the Barbie roll as an appetizer and the Bolgogi and shrimp Pad Thai for our entrees. Both were excellent as well and the sushi roll being the perfect selection for my boyfriend who doesn't like raw fish.
Good food but way too noisy. Portions adequate. Server did not ask us about spice & food was not spicy but was flavorful. We could not hear one another due to noise from kitchen competing with music & closeness of other customers.
Need to add some fabrics to decor to absorb sound.
The only good thing I could say is that the wait staff were friendly. The menu is very small, the food is way too spicy, even at 2 stars my lips and mouth were burning from the green curry chicken. The potstickers were great though. We asked for no tofu in the pad thai and it was ignored. The ambience is noisy, dont expect a romantic meal, with very little booths, the majority seating being tables close together. For the price, not worth it.
I am a frequent visitor and always love Journeys. They recently updated menu (YAY!) and it was terrific. Go family style when you order and share the large portions so you can get a taste of everything. The service has been steadily good and only trouble has been using points from table games to pay.
The food here is delicious, but the noise level in the dining room is ridiculous. Even for being in a casino, the noise was uncomfortable. We're used to lively restaurants with an upbeat atmosphere, but this was just plain terrible. Please Improve the acoustics! The delicious food here deserves a pleasant atmosphere. It was like being in a loud Chucky Cheese! We couldn't leave soon enough. That's unfortunate, given the quality of the food.
As usually the food was very tasty. Irene, our staff person was friendly and professional. There was a bit of a problem with the expediting the orders, but management stepped in and brought it back on track. They also came to the tables and apologized.
I'd recommend eating hear, we have tried a number of the appetizers, entrees and sushi and have yet to have a bad meal.
Tulalip gets thumbs-up for Journeys East. The restaurant updates its menu from time to time, and has recently expanded its hours to include lunch and Dim Sum Sunday mornings. We love dim sum so we order mostly off the Appetizer section (and some nigiri), with our favorites being the Siu Mai and the Tempura Shrimp.
The food is brought to the table as soon as it's ready rather than the entire order coming all at once. Also, the restaurant is very bright in terms of lighting and very noisy.
Our waiter was the best - on the spot, very attentive, professional. All you could ever expect a waiter should be and then some! On my online reservation, I indicated this was 22nd anniversary. He and several other waiters congratulated us. At meal's end, he brought a complementary ice cream desert, candle and all!
The staff greeting us on arrival were not friendly and attempted to give us a poor location, we rejected their second attempt and our WAITER moved us to a nice spot.
We went to Journeys East before a Friday night concert at the Tulalip Amphitheater. Our waiter, Sunny, was so pleasant. He was quick to wait on us and took care to tell us about the food we were ordering. We were given the option of paced courses or all at once as the dishes were preared. The food came all at once. The food was delicious and beautiful.
The first time you walk in, you're immediately greeted by the host, so very courteous. Then you are seated the server greets you and puts your drink order in so you have time to look at their menu selection. Without a doubt mostly all their food are delicious arranging for Chinese, Thai & Korean. At the end of your meal you are content with your dinner experience & will remember this restaurant on your next visit to Tulalip Casino.
The food at Journeys East is consistently good, the service is outstanding, and the noise level is high. They have changed their menu since the last time we ate here (several months ago), which I always think is a good sign. We generally order some nigiri and a few appetizers (love the shrimp tempura!). The food arrives in no particular order, they bring it out when it's ready.
We would love to see a dish of plain vanilla ice cream as an option on the dessert menu.
The restaurant is now open for lunch several days a week, and offers a Sunday dim sum menu (no carts). We are so glad to see they've expanded into lunchtime.
Walk into an open floor & kitchen. Their friendly service there, you will remember. The food I've ordered and tasted are flavorful with a variety of ethnic food from Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese & Korean. This place will fill your mouth with comforting & savory dishes of food. We loved the atmosphere & ambiance.
Really good service until the end took a while to pay, and could have used one more drink refill. Food was amazing and fast. Scallops were really fresh and cooked perfectly. Server was very friendly, great about asking is how we wanted our meal courses out. Good fresh sushi.
We have eaten here before. This trip we had miso soup, sushi and a dessert. The soup was fine. The sushi was tiny, fairly plain and came with a total of about 6 pieces for two orders. The dessert was interesting. For a casino restaurant it was OK for a quick bite to eat, but nothing spectacular at all. One nice thing, you can pull up open table on your phone and make a reservation while you are playing in the casino. I'm always amazed at people who wait 1-2 hours for a table.
