Joule takes reservations for 2 hour time slots. We do our best to accommodate as many guests as we can so we ask to please be considerate of other diners at the end of your meal. If you feel that your party will require more time please let us know in the notes and we will get back to you as soon as possible with our available accommodations.
It had been awhile since I had eaten at Joule. Everything turned out exactly as I remembered: delicious interesting food, good service, and really great wine. I have always loved the space as well. I need to go back there more often!
It had been a while since I last had brunch at Joule. The food was still great, but I think the buffet selection was better in the past...? But, nonetheless it's a great place!
Best restaurant in Seattle for consistency, quality of food, and service.
Excellent and varied flavors in a shareable small plate format. Delicious!
Great food and great experience!
Excellent service and food.
The food was delicious. My personal favorites were the cauliflower, chorizo rice cakes and the prime steak. The cocktails were also very well made and balanced. I loved the smitten.
One of our favorite Seattle restaurants when we are in town!
Had a 1:30 reservation. Brunch is listed as stopping at 2:00 pm. By the time we got there, they had already stopped refilling to buffet menu. So we paid full price for a limited buffet. They should not charge us full price if they don't plan on refilling it after 1:30.
I understand this is to cut costs... But when customers are paying 30 dollars for brunch... You guys should not be skimping on the service....
Excellent food and service. Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful unrushed dinner.
We've had a very frustrating experience with the waiter arguing over the order, which completely ruined the occasion. Also the place is quite pretentious, but the food was not on par with our expectations. Will not recommend.
Fantastic, unpretentious food that has both style and substance. While it's on the spendier side of things, it's well worth it for the quality. Fantastic experience throughout, and the service was great.
Excellent all around!
their service was TERRIBLE. Only checked in us to constantly remind us to clear out the table by 1pm.
The shrimp and grits were good. The chanterelle omelet was over cooked, tough, without much flavor. The ala carte dishes seem overpriced for the meal size. The restaurant is very noisy making it difficult to hear one’s table mates. The service was excellent.
Great service. Very loud ambiance, thought it might be quieter, but the tables were too close together. Food was average.
Felt like servers were trying to rush us out and we had a 9 pm reservation. They didn’t need our table. We had to ask for dessert menus when he brought us a check. I thought it was their job to sell?!
Easy online reservation. Had Saturday brunch. Monthly buffet theme was Oktoberfest, with good variety of flavors and textures. Items were restocked as they ran out. Mains (bacon and eggs breakfast and grits) and were outstanding. Scallion hash was great. Kids meal was smallish but ok when supplemented by the buffet. A different brunch buffet concept, we left very full and satisfied.
Had the steak and waffles. Wish it came with a side of maple syrup, I don’t normally use a lot but there wasn’t enough for me. Thin steak wasn’t quite medium rare in two thirds of it and the giant butter (?) didn’t enhance the flavor for me. If I was going to have battered beef I would have preferred a crispy ginger beef from a Chinese restaurant. Buffet items were gourmet but a lot of flies around them, they almost need those Asian mesh food covers.
I haven’t been to Joule in years even though I consider it one of my favorites. A friend was visiting from out of town so I took her. She wasn’t all that impressed. The food was good but not as amazing as I remembered and our server was pompous. The restaurant already adds gratuity so he could act anyway he wanted.
We are the sea level 6 and we approve of Joule
Went for brunch... reasonable and very tasty
This is our first time there. The table and furnitures are small and cheap. The menu was just a piece of paper with small and not clear print(with wrinkles). When we ready to order, the waiter said for two people, you will need to order at least 4 or 5 dishes. We asked for the waiter’s suggestions for their most popular food and ordered accordingly.smoked tofu, tar tar beef, fry rice and octopus. The presentation of all food were fine. However the taste are the same “very salty and sour” for all kind of food. We think the poor food taste and quality do not worthy of the price they charged. They also charged 20% for tips, totally not worth it.
Wonderful food, and I would definitely recommend it for a date or some other special occasion. While it's a little bit spendy, it's definitely worth the price tag, as the food is superb.
The main dishes (french toast and grits) were both great. The buffet was disappointing, but since they change it every month, there is bound to be an odd one out every now and then.
Food was good, but either the server or kitchen staff forgot one of our mains. I finished my dish before my GF’s dish arrived. The automatic 20% tip is bizarre for a 2 person table, especially when you have a service issue that results in a 20 min delay to one of your main orders.
The $20 weekend brunch is yummy in my tummy and easy on my wallet. The food was outstanding and the chef's counter was educational. The kitchen and staff know what they're doing here. The theme for the weekend brunch menu changes every month so we'll be making monthly brunch appointments!
Third time to Joule. Wonderful, inventive, delicious food every time. Sat on the patio for dinner this time. Main dining room is very boomy. Hard to hear my friends! A minor quibble, though. Joule is a jewel.
Loved it! Great food, the choriso dish was divine.
The only thing I didn’t like is that it was quite loud and smelly/smoky because of the open kitchen.
Maybe a bit on the pricy side as well.
Amazing food, fun drinks and great vibe. Just bring your sunglasses if you are on the patio...sun was in my eyes at sunset.
Great drink menu and eclectic food choices. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful on making suggestions.
There was no fan and it was hot AF and the food was small quantities and not very good. They didn’t ask how we wanted our steak cooked and brought it super rare and bloody. Probably will never go back. Trying to hard to be boujee and not being boujee..
Pretty much everything on the menu is excellent, it's hard to go wrong when ordering at Joule.
The main dining area is beautiful and the noise level doesn't make having a good conversation while enjoying an amazing meal impossible.
With the exception of the hostess, whom on this visit was friendly and knowledgeable, service is detached. However, this kind of service is pretty standard in Seattle. It's the main reason that we don't dine out as often as we used to. Like a lot of people we know in Seattle (a place where cookbooks remain on the local best seller list for months), we are serious and adventurous home cooks. Why go out and feel like you're standing between your server and their completion of the Next Great American Novel or holding back their band from "making it" when you can make just it yourself? There was hope—as more establishments adopted an automatic 20% gratuity—that service would improve, but it hasn't seemed to have much effect.
Overall though, when you're in the mood for really original and delicious food, Joule remains a great bet.
The food was wonderful, and so was the attention we got from our server. However, it was an especially hot day and we were sat near the kitchen. We were sweating for most of our meal, but the food made up for it. Would recommend to a friend.
Joule had several large tables when our group of 6 arrived, which may explain our experience. It was 70 minutes between the delivery of the first entree to the last entree. Delivery of starters, entrees, and sides were in order of when the kitchen finished them, not when we’re ready for them. But waiter did warn us that dishes would not be in sequence. The kitchen did comp a dish, but that was the extent of explanation or any gesture of apology. Food was very tasty but our appetites were gone.
Gratuity was an automatic 20%, which seemed generous given our experience.
The ribeye steak was quite a disappointment: chewey, full of tough tendon. The sauces were superb though.
The mackerel was lovely.
Dishes rate fairly high on creativity and low on flavor. Everything overpriced.
Waitress was not pleasant at all. Food was good but not great. Did not match the high praise in my opinion.
It was hot and the sun was in my eyes...even though we were sitting inside. Everything else we amazing.
That steak with Kalbi and kimchi. Is bomb!! The bartender is cool as well
