Lovely place. The smoked tofu dish was so good I’m going to be craving it from now on, which is unfortunate because I don’t live in Seattle. The shrimp dish was also insanely good, as were the cocktails. The beef was a tad chewy but still pretty good. Very nice staff.
The food is very creative and surprisingly good. The combinations of ingredients and flavor set it apart from any other first rate restaurant in Seattle. It’s also fun to eat there and the service feels personal and welcoming.
Everything was excellent! The employees were friendly and helpful, the food was fabulous and timed perfectly, the setting is very nice.
Truly some of the tastiest dishes we’ve ever tried anywhere in the world. Brandy took great care of us. Highest recommendation.
Great place to dine with friends. Outdoor patio with fireplace makes for a fun dining experience. Excellent cuisine.
“That” steak was amazing, as were the rice cakes. Cocktails also delicious. Octopus was a fail, overly charred and rubbery. The beets were good, as were the shrimp. Beautiful deck.
The best food we had eaten in a long time . Excellent quality , finger-licking deliciousness ! I am so speechless because all I can think of is when will I dine here again . Wonderful service , well balanced cocktails and food that I can still taste in my brain . Can’t wait to come back !!
The food was excellent, although the Mackerel was a little on the salty side. The service, however, was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to check in on us and to chit chat and made the evening feel very personal.
Was our second time eating at Joule, and we’ll definitely be back!
Food seemed over sauced. At times just too salty. Their 4% service charge seems poorly thought out. Either charge the full service charge or bake it into the food price.
It just wasn't a place for me. Was more for family style which we didn't know. My husband tried something he never had. He liked it ok enough; I had the halibut and there was a funk to it. I did not enjoy the meal myself. The waitress was nice, but not very observant as I didn't eat anything. My husband answered everything was OK though, so... Last meal in Seattle after living here 5 years, and I went and got Dicks after. Maybe if I had had the miso black cod, which wasn't on the current menu. We won't go back, but maybe recommend if you like fucky food. Very casual for how expensive. Also not my idea of a steakhouse, French, or Japanese... Food quality seemed on point. Storage boxes were tucked under the benches and visible, which looked sloppy.
Very unusual and creative combinations of flavors, flawlessly executed, presented through knowledgeable, thoughtful and friendly service. Careful COVID measures that did not detract from the dining experience.
Food was a bit disappointing. Seafood didn’t seem that fresh, and flavor combos didn’t work. Service was terrific though, and the wine, an Albariño, was very tasty.
First time in Seattle and this spot was stellar! Amazing Food and Amazing service, 10 out of 10 would come back again any day!
Joule has consistently kept an exceptionally high standard for years. It is our most favorite restaurant in Seattle. The entire experience is excellent with talented and friendly staff and very excellent cocktails. The food is exciting, fresh and delicious. Just go there!
Interesting menu in a wonderful outdoor setting! Food was excellent.
There are always multiple stand out items on the frequently changing menu at Joule. I have been 3 times and been thoroughly happy with each one.
First time out in 14 months and did not disappoint! Even though we had had take out over the last year from you all, it was great to be able to dine with you all. We have been dining with you since you were located on N 45th, and you guys are consistently solid and innovative. Best service, food and ambiance in town.
The food was delicious! Short rib and halibut is a must! The service was also great!
Went there for my birthday. Food and service are fantastic.
Everything was delicious and the wait staff helpful and friendly.
Service was great. Covid protocols felt safe. The food was amazing! It was our first nice dinner out since the pandemic started and it felt really elegant, safe, and welcoming.
Had an outstanding meal in a very covid-safe environment. Outdoor seating was very nice. Food was incredible and service was top notch.
Everything was delicious as always, service was great and everything was clean
Had a great dining experience at Joule. From the cocktails
to the dessert. We had the bone marrow which was exquisite, the chorizo and rice cakes which had the perfect amount of spice, of course That short rib which was so tender and cooked perfectly which went along perfectly with the gojuchang and the black cod which like butter! The service was great; friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing as always. Dinner included old favorites such as chorizo rice cakes and matcha flan and new ones.
We have been out to dinner in one year. Joule is absolutely excellent - service, quality of food and environment. We just love this place and the excellence hasn't changed in one year. They are just one fabulous place.
Joule is always a treat! Everything from the innovative menu to the friendly service is great! I'm a regular here.
Joule is just the best. Period end of sentence.
The food was subpar which I was very surprised about as I’ve frequented this restaurant many times. I was also a bit surprised about the service, it was very hands off and uninspired. I know Covid has hit the restaurant industry hard and We’ve tried to support our favorite restaurants frequently throughout takeout and now that we are vaccinated through dining in house...but it is hard to justify the expense when we aren’t met with good food and good service.
I love going to Joule and go when I feel like having a truly tasty dinner. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The ambience is relaxing and with the kitchen in view, you can watch the magic happen.
My favorite dishes there are the kalbi burger and the spicy rice cakes. I dearly miss the kaya toast with the spread. I also miss the cauliflower with yogurt and bonito, but the radish works out ok.
I will definitely go again and recommend you go as well.
Without a doubt, Joule is my favorite Seattle restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and professional, and the vibe is cool but laid back.
This place gets an A for creativity. I don’t think a single dish on the menu is traditional. Everything was new and interesting. One dish was a scallion pancake served with creme fraiche, chili oil, and salmon roe. It was great. Every dish that we had was like this. Super creative and it just worked. If I lived in Seattle, I’d be a regular.
Four of us ordered 90% of the menu, ate about 89% of it (it’s that good!)... and it was 100% delicious. Service thoughtful and quick but not pressured (we were the last to leave). Chicory salad and mackerel my favorites. Rib eye and the rice cakes and pea shoots and tofu were other highlights— but truly everything delicious. The only thing I might skip would be the scallion pancakes but that’s because I’m into big flavors and they are more subdued, but texturally so nice. I’ve been coming here for years. Always amazing and interesting food. You will never be bored by yet another kale Caesar here (duh, it’s Korean fusion!, but you see my point). One of my all-time favorite restaurants.
Post wedding dress shopping and was perfect. I’ve been there a bunch and 2 friends who have not that loved it. I can never pass up a miso black cod, ALWAYS get the tofu “salad” the broccoli and pea greens with almond butter were awesome and my friend who what the burgers said it was insane.
Joule is our go to, for date night, satisfying our rice cake cravings and for showcasing a taste of Seattle to our visitors. We absolutely love the food and drinks. Although I still prefer to sit outdoors during the pandemic, the indoor area feels airy with the design of the building and that they keep the patio doors ajar the entire evening. If you get Brandi as a server- you will never be disappointed by her warmth, menu knowledge and hospitality.
The food and service were absolutely wonderful. We have been here a few times (including twice since the COVID-19 reopening), and we always have a great experience.
We love this place! Wonderful staff. Dietary restriction friendly too.
The food, cocktails, and service were all perfect. Looking forward to a return trip!
I really wanted to like Joile. Having read so much press about it and being intrigued by the nature of the menu I was very excited about dining here. Unfortunately and perhaps it was just my experience that evening but it certainly didn’t meet my expectations.
The starters almost universally lacked seasoning - and the texture of the signature rice cakes was lost on me. Were they intended to be gloppy? It’s a short card, so execution needs to be on point. While the plating was very nice, it couldn’t make up for the other faults IMO.
Perhaps the most challenging part was the service? There were multiple times that a dish was summarily plopped down on the table without care or anything other than a cursory description. In fact with two dishes the server never even stopped? Instead she just dropped the food as she walked by.
I respect what they are doing here and I’m certain that it could just be me or Joule having an off night? But it isn’t a place I would return to.
Joule is probably the best restaurant serving in Seattle at this time. It’s always been our favorite restaurant, but we are appreciating it even more now. The food was excellent and the experience very relaxed and fun. The service was top notch. We ate outside in stormy weather and we were comfortable by the fire pit and with overhead heating.
