Joso's is a gem. A delightfully whacky interior coupled with wonderful fresh seafood and an attentive staff. Next time we are in Toronto, we will be back.
We really enjoyed our meal at Joso’s. I especially loved the pasta with squid ink, and the calamari.
Crazy art all over every inch of wall makes for a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Service was great, the waiter’s recommendations were spot on. Good place for fine food and conversation.
I have know about this restaurant for some time but have never had the opportunity to dine there until recently. Should have dined there sooner! We will definitely be back. The restaurant is small but very lively. The service is excellent. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding!! Genuine and traditional. Perfectly cooked. Well presented. Good wine list but limited wines by the glass. Overall, an excellent experience in an outstanding restaurant.

Very tasty food, grilled fish selection and squid ink risotto were good. Decor was interesting. Service was average. However, overall I feel the restaurant is overrated and overpriced.
Way way too expensive. Fish was great but you have to buy the sides separately and the portions are too small. Cheapest wine on the menu is 85$. Appetizer, wine, shared main, one side, one dessert was 350$.
A wonderful culinary experience. Starting with oysters on the half she, and a full sized scorpion fish from the Aegean, to end with cream brulee. Magnificent delight to my taste buds!
Had grilled Dorado with veg ; was outstanding , the wine was great and everyone made us feel at home . I would be only too happy to return to Joso's .

Great dinner as part of my mom's weekend visit. The servers are very well informed about the fresh seafood.
Food is good. Like the spaghetti. Rossito was enough for four people. Will come again for sea food since table next to me order the fish and smell so good.

Was here for dinner on June 22nd for a special birthday. We walked in excited for a special night once we were finally seated the Service was absolutely awful from the start. We were laughed at for ordering a lone fish salad as our appetizer. Then once again questioned for our choice of wine. Almost felt as if we didn’t matter because we did not have our faces on the celebrity wall on the inside our business didn’t matter. For service should be the same for all not based on appearance , I have money I could have easily sat there and ordered endless food, but I was completely turned off. Once ours mains were received we were told that our choices were a bit non conventional ( grilled octopus and grilled calamari ). It was a shame that the service was so poor because the food was in all fairness very very good.

Freshest most perfectly cooked seafood. Prepared in the simple fisherman’s style. They are the masters of simplicity. Additionally they have a couple of meat dishes unexpectedly that are excellent. The late Joso and Anjolina created a Toronto institution that is being carried on by Leo, Shirley, Olivia and Marco whose is the third generation chef. Bravo. AH

One of the absolute best restaurants in the city. We have been coming here for years for everything from birthdays to anniversaries and amazing dinners out with friends. The seafood and squid ink risotto are incredible. They are huge and need to be shared by 4-6 people or just get one for 2 people and take him the left overs!! Salads, fresh fish, calimari etc there is nothing on the menu that isn't amazing. Thr bring out a huge dish with all of the fresh fish and seafood for the night and discribe the flavours and areas the fish is from. The decor is fun and there lots to look at. They go all out for birthdays and the desserts are incredible escpecially the crepes and terimisu.

I have been here so many times there is nothing else I can say except that it is and has for a long time been my favourite special occasion restaurant.
If you like seafood, you must try! We ordered the Siciliana and Muscles & Clams spaghettini and both were delicious. However, we did wait almost one hour for our entrees to be served. Good thing we were patient and not in a hurry or super hungry. Maybe if we ordered appetizers maybe the wait would not have been as long?? Service was attentive. A basket of bread is brought to your table along w/ a presentation of fresh seafood you can order. We sat on the front patio which was nice touch.
Great atmosphere, the service is outstanding, in addition to the Dalmatian style preperation of the seafood this is a winning combination!
Personally, I’m happy that they serve a good slivovitza, which is oh so nice before a good meal, and what impressed me more so was the background Dalmatian music. Simply a place with an urban vibe where one can equally enjoy an afternoon or evening!
This was my second time to Joso and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff made me feel like a star.
Joso's remains one of my favourite restaurants. The day's catch is brought to you on a platter and the server explains the different fish being offered that day. All the fish is simply grilled and served whole. We had butterflied sardines. Excellent. A must dish is the squid ink risotto nero. It is unique in the city. The rice is cooked on the al dente side so there is a nice crunch to it. The taste is exquisite. Our go-to dish every time we visit.

This was my first visit to Joso's and I loved it. A little on the expensive side but enjoyed everything. Would like to see a few more choices on the menu. Will definitely return. Parking is a definite problem.
