always a great meal . it’s got to be in our top three restaurants in town. always new items on the menu. great attitude!! will always modify a dish to your own desires. chicken for two is really for three!! every fish dish is outstanding...
The food is simple but delicious. The cocktails are excellent. We had a great time and love the atmosphere. The cost was high but worth it for special occasions.
While the corner window table was a nice touch to celebrate a special occasion and our server was somewhat seasoned, it paled in comparison for the dining experience we anticipated but did not receive. The service was slow, they were out of a signature item, the food was extremely salty (replacements for all dishes came out after we finished our main), one main wasn't cooked to order and the guest had to leave the table (rare instead of well done)...no need to go on. To amend for this they brought a complimentary dessert for the guest of honor without asking for dietary restrictions and the guest could not eat it. We usually give second chances, but will make an exception this time.
Above all the food was outstanding. We had several courses and all were exceptional. The swordfish may have been the best piece of fish I have ever put in my mouth. Food showcased robust flavors, but never was the integrity of ingredients eclipsed by too many complexities. The atmosphere was simple, yet sophisticated, and a perfect fit for the fare. I was very impressed with the non-pretension that Josephine delivered compared to so many of it's contemporaries in town, whose food is not equivalent. I have already recommended this restaurant and we will be back.
Josephines is my fav Nashville restaurant and the Littles some of my favorite chefs here. I go there when I NEED it and I'm never disappointed. Taking some good friends there again, soon. It is a combo of a neighborhood restaurant, and innovative food restaurant, and a pleasantly run (staff and atmosphere) place where we feel comfortable. People have on shorts or fancies and everyone is happy, including me.
I had been to Josephine previously for dinner, which I also highly suggest, but this was my first Josephine brunch experience which was equally impressive! I definitely recommend. I went with a small group and we all loved our dishes! We had a great table by the sunny window and the music was just the right noise level giving us an additionally great experience on top of the food. We had the Biscuits & Honey/Apple Butter starter which was a huge hit for the table! I had the J’s Basic plate which sounds so simple but was SO yum! Accompanying my meal was a Bloody Mary with the right amount of spice and flavor to help kickstart my Saturday. The Duck Confit & Sweet Potato Hash and the Benedict were also table favorites! Can’t wait to go back!
Good, unique dishes. Great service and ambience. Not a good place for groups because it is so loud.
Fantastic food and service.
The restaurant was very stylish and had a nice look to it. The menus looked good and had a variety of options for every palate. I was disappointed in the Benedict which was very rich and a little cold. The prosciutto was good but the scrapple was cold and mushy. Added toast to eat the eggs and enjoyed the salad. The other entrees and sweets looked good
Law school mates went out on the town in Nashville for 3 nights and then we found Josephine’s, the reunion was made by this find. Best bottle of wine so far this year, the food was proper and Abbey, our server, the best in town. What a great night at Josephine’s.
Was a bit disappointed in the size of the entrees. I had a pasta selection and actually left the restaurant hungry. Also, one of our party found her entree to be spicy. The waitress brought some bread, but it took longer than it should have.
this was a great experience for brunch. service was outstanding. our quiche was not warm, they immediately prepared new one and chef brought to our table. i love when kitchen brings items to table after being redone. great smoked salmon salad with frisee and arugula. quiche was excellent. we started with pecan sticky buns-they were outstanding. i highly recommend for brunch. they even have complimentary valet parking which is nice for a crowded area. Nashville is fortunate to have some great restaurants. this is one of them
One of our last brunch stops in Nashville, and it was our favorite. The biscuits were amazing, the smoked salmon salad was amazing, and the Benedict was amazing. Well done Josephine.
Amazing food and wine!
Visiting relatives in Nashville from St. Louis, went for drinks here, loved it. Will come back for dinner when visiting again soon. Great atmosphere, low lighting which I love, lots of energy, fun place!
We very much enjoyed our time at Josephine's. Their staff was amazing and the food was great.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The duck fat hash browns were nothing terribly special, but everything else was fantastic - the hazelnut agnolotti was incredible!
good food and wonderful overall restaurant experience with exception of the noise level.
We loved our anniversary dinner! They were very accommodating to our food allergies. Great food, festive drinks, and cozy atmosphere!
Never thought I would order chicken while dining out (other than hot chicken!). My wife and I ordered the whole chicken w/asparagus and potatoes. It was amazing! Whole cooked crispy fingerlings were great. The downside of the meal is that we were seated at a table 6 inches apart from partied on both sides. We like to be able to enjoy conversation while at dinner without being able to hear the conversations on either side of us or having them hear ours. Dinner and service were great.
All of the apps were amazing but the main courses were extremely salty.
We went for Sunday brunch. Five star food and service for a three star price! I will absolutely be back and am very interested in going there for a dinner!
Only a few days after our first time to Josephine's, we made plans to have our wedding dinner there... enough said!
Great experience as always.
We had a party of 6 and they did a great job at accomodating us. And the food was BEYOND incredible. Every bite. We all shared what we ordered, so pretty much tasted most of the menu. Hard to pick a favorite it was all so good.
Servers were slow to respond and delayed in bringing drinks, taking orders, and picking up the cheque. The starters were delicious but the main course was boring and one note.
Chosen by random - great result.....staff, food and ambience were all top notch. Hope you enjoy too
We had a great experience. True farm to table preparation with fantastic presentation. You HAVE to try the Brussel sprouts. Reasonable wine pricing and definitely worth the hype.
Nice menu and very good food but the service was a bit slower than we would have liked. There is a good cocktail menu too!
I have been a few times, always enjoyed it...brought 2 friends with me that had never been. Server was great, food was very slow to come and it was NOT hot. I don't know that we'll be back. We had reservations and were seated very quickly. Just not the great experience I have had before!
We dine here regularly. Food is always wonderful - as is service. We recently went on a Saturday night and it was much slower than normal (we normally go during the week). Also - the valet out front definitely wasn’t concerned about service as he told us we needed to just go find a place to park.
Josephine was an exceptional experience, I notated on my reservation that it was our anniversary so when we got to our table, there was a note from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Our waitress Amber was very attentive, warm and welcoming. The food was creative and well executed. We greatly enjoyed our experience and we will surely be back soon.
Fabulous. Friendly. I’m not a local but they made me feel like one. Food is off the charts good. Chicken for two a must!
Scallops, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were fantastic
I wanted to impress 3 of my largest clients with dinner and a hockey game. We came in from various states and they were very complementary of my choice For dining! Excellent service, the Monk fish was spectacular!
First time going! Great staff, great ambiance, and great food! The rabbit is superb!
Everything was perfect and our server Abby was amazing!
We really like Josephine’s. Our friends had never been. The food was just fair I’m sorry to say. The mean had the steak. Way to salty. Both of them. I had the butternut squash ravioli. To much sauce Couldn’t really taste the actual ravioli and was under cooked. I’m saying this because we have lived our food in the pass. That’s why we continue to go back. Not sure now. 😕
AWESOME! Josephine's was recommended to us and we were VERY PLEASED!! THANK YOU
