Visiting relatives in Nashville from St. Louis, went for drinks here, loved it. Will come back for dinner when visiting again soon. Great atmosphere, low lighting which I love, lots of energy, fun place!
We very much enjoyed our time at Josephine's. Their staff was amazing and the food was great.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The duck fat hash browns were nothing terribly special, but everything else was fantastic - the hazelnut agnolotti was incredible!
good food and wonderful overall restaurant experience with exception of the noise level.
We loved our anniversary dinner! They were very accommodating to our food allergies. Great food, festive drinks, and cozy atmosphere!
Never thought I would order chicken while dining out (other than hot chicken!). My wife and I ordered the whole chicken w/asparagus and potatoes. It was amazing! Whole cooked crispy fingerlings were great. The downside of the meal is that we were seated at a table 6 inches apart from partied on both sides. We like to be able to enjoy conversation while at dinner without being able to hear the conversations on either side of us or having them hear ours. Dinner and service were great.
All of the apps were amazing but the main courses were extremely salty.
We went for Sunday brunch. Five star food and service for a three star price! I will absolutely be back and am very interested in going there for a dinner!
Only a few days after our first time to Josephine's, we made plans to have our wedding dinner there... enough said!
Great experience as always.
We had a party of 6 and they did a great job at accomodating us. And the food was BEYOND incredible. Every bite. We all shared what we ordered, so pretty much tasted most of the menu. Hard to pick a favorite it was all so good.
Servers were slow to respond and delayed in bringing drinks, taking orders, and picking up the cheque. The starters were delicious but the main course was boring and one note.
Chosen by random - great result.....staff, food and ambience were all top notch. Hope you enjoy too
We had a great experience. True farm to table preparation with fantastic presentation. You HAVE to try the Brussel sprouts. Reasonable wine pricing and definitely worth the hype.
Nice menu and very good food but the service was a bit slower than we would have liked. There is a good cocktail menu too!
I have been a few times, always enjoyed it...brought 2 friends with me that had never been. Server was great, food was very slow to come and it was NOT hot. I don't know that we'll be back. We had reservations and were seated very quickly. Just not the great experience I have had before!
We dine here regularly. Food is always wonderful - as is service. We recently went on a Saturday night and it was much slower than normal (we normally go during the week). Also - the valet out front definitely wasn’t concerned about service as he told us we needed to just go find a place to park.
Josephine was an exceptional experience, I notated on my reservation that it was our anniversary so when we got to our table, there was a note from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Our waitress Amber was very attentive, warm and welcoming. The food was creative and well executed. We greatly enjoyed our experience and we will surely be back soon.
Fabulous. Friendly. I’m not a local but they made me feel like one. Food is off the charts good. Chicken for two a must!
Scallops, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were fantastic
I wanted to impress 3 of my largest clients with dinner and a hockey game. We came in from various states and they were very complementary of my choice For dining! Excellent service, the Monk fish was spectacular!
First time going! Great staff, great ambiance, and great food! The rabbit is superb!
Everything was perfect and our server Abby was amazing!
We really like Josephine’s. Our friends had never been. The food was just fair I’m sorry to say. The mean had the steak. Way to salty. Both of them. I had the butternut squash ravioli. To much sauce Couldn’t really taste the actual ravioli and was under cooked. I’m saying this because we have lived our food in the pass. That’s why we continue to go back. Not sure now. 😕
AWESOME! Josephine's was recommended to us and we were VERY PLEASED!! THANK YOU
Our food was absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend the duck fat hashbrowns and the mushroom pot pie. I can’t wait to go back!
Loved the décor and comfortable seating. The staff is excellent and very friendly. Bathrooms are charming, offering nice little touches such as lotion and mouthwash. (Be careful in the ladies room however, the water pressure is strong and the curve of the sink will splash you no matter how hard you try to avoid it!) It is quite noisy if it's busy, but that's a given when there's so many people there. We went for brunch, and the food, while good, didn't really live up to the price point in my opinion. Options are limited for sure, and I was disappointed to see they took the chicken and waffles off of their brunch list! I had seen it posted on their social media a couple of times before going, but it was not listed. Maybe it was a seasonal thing that I was not aware of?
All in all, very nice experience! I feel like I would choose somewhere else next time, just due to my personal taste in food.
What an amazing experience! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all incredible. We are still craving the sweet potatoes with smoked blue cheese and pecans. We were only in Nashville for 2 nights and considered coming back here for dinner the second night but already had reservations elsewhere.
This was my first time trying Josephine's. Food was excellent. loved the atmosphere. Only downsize, there's no kids menu or kid friendly options. Which I've never heard of in all my travels (unless it's a 5 star dinning experience). Even when I asked "does my 5 year old need to order the entire $28 8oz steak or can the chef prepare something smaller" the answer was yes we cannot offer anything else. Anyway, that's the only reason we will not come back unless it's date night.
Visiting Nashville from Philadelphia. What a great restaurant it was a real treat!
Always excellent food, especially the veggies, it had been several years since my wife and I had been there for a date and it is as good as we remembered
Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and beautifully presented. The mushroom pot pie may have been made In Heaven. The apple cobbler with butter pecan ice cream definitely was.
Food, wine, servers all very very good. Loved our booth — excellent vantage point for being part of an attractive and busy restaurant, but cozy enough so that we could all see and hear each other.
Third visit to Josephine, and it has been impressive each time. Excellent food, beverage and service; always a memorable meal.
Some good and some bad. Don’t recommend the grilled octopus.
Incredible food and special service. Highly rcommended
We celebrated a birthday with brunch. The food was wonderful, everyone said they would love to go back for a dinner!
We have enjoyed food at Josephine in the past but this time, something must have gone wrong in the kitchen. My butternut squash ravioli was unbelievably salty and leathery. It was covered in a brown sauce that looked and tasted like Marmite ( salty yeast extract). I asked my son to try it to make sure it was not just me being fussy. He had a hard time swallowing it because it was toxic-salty. I spent the next 15 minutes trying to catch our server’s attention and finally got someone else to take it back to the kitchen. Our server returned eventually but she was frosty with me from that point on. She took off the price of my dish because I did not want a replacement. My husband said his rabbit pasta was also very salty but he decided to just eat it because he was famished by then. One more thing- we sat by the window and it was very drafty and cold. So overall, not a great evening at Josephine but we hope it’s just a blip. We want you to do well.
Josephine is that place that has great food and great service in an atmosphere that is relaxing and laid back. You can have a conversation with your guests without having to yell across the table. On this night, I had the grilled octopus with okra and eggplant. It was excellent. My friend had the roast pork, which was also great. The only improvement: my dark and stormy cocktail was a little too lemony.
