This was our second time at Josephine. Service and food were top notch. Once you have a bite of their cobbler....life is not the same.
Everything was fabulous. Cool space delicious food!
Food and service was fantastic. We are from out of town and this place was recommended and did not disappoint. The only bad thing was it was raining that evening and I took my sunglasses off and accidentally left them there on the bench were my wife was sitting next to the window. Called the restaurant the next day and they called back the same day to say they didn’t find them and no one turned them in. :(
Foodie type menu and nice atmosphere, consistent food and drink quality.
Love the brunch here!
This is one of my favorite Nashville restaurants! The food and service are always excellent!
Always Always Great!
Creative and interesting food. The scrapple was divine. I had a very contemporary cocktail as Japanese gin is a new ingredient. Their drink using it was delicious. Superb service. One of my favorite places to eat in town.
Our experience was terrific. We had an amazing wine at 50% off price because of wine Wednesday specials. The service was superb and the food was amazing. My wife said the swordfish was the best she's ever tasted.
Josephine is one of our local favorites to take out of town guests to. Always glad to return!
We had a great brunch - peaches and biscuits with fresh whipped cream and Mint! Wow! Everything was delicious!
We always have enjoyed our visits to Josephine when we travel from our home to our beach house in NC 4 times a year.
Our date night this week we chose Josephine’s and it didn’t disappoint. The staff was great and the ambiance was excellent. We got the lobster lettuce wraps for the appetizer and they were wonderful. Dinner we chose the Flank Steak and Butcher Pork Chop. Great flavor and cooked to perfection! We will be back!!
The hostess was so warm and welcoming. Super sweet and exactly what we needed as we were running late....food and service was so wonderful. Very good and highly recommend!
The food was really good. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Service was very good too.
The service, food and atmosphere were all exceptional! The best swordfish we’ve ever experienced! And the homemade baked apple cobbler was a sweet ending!
I chose Josephine to celebrate my birthday this year because of the unique menu offerings and cocktails and was not disappointed. We had great service, fabulous food and great cocktails. I will be adding this one to my list of restaurants I want to go to again and again.
Wonderful meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday! Thank you!
We traded from our usual orders but the Duck confit was very salty and the fried rice was non plus/ bland. Abby was a terrific server as usual.
Amazing food, Amazing service. Hard to beat!
Birthday & Business
Great service, we’ll priced for an upscale restaurant.
Duck entrée was tepid at best and not hot. Pasta Buccatti was not good....Pork Chop was cold...
These food items at $25 to $37 per entrée al la carte were a horrible experience. The Tongue appetizer was very good and the Mushroom Pasta was ok. I doubt if I will ever return.
We were on vacation in Nashville and I recently heard Reese Witherspoon say on television that she loved Josephine. We loved it also
Josephine never disappoints! Great service, amazing food, and fantastic atmosphere! One of my faves!
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Josephine.
Anniversary celebration with my wife. From the time we walked in until we left the experience was wonderful. The staff was attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect to be able to carry on a conversation. Would recommend to families or anyone looking for an enjoyable time away from social media. Sit relax and enjoy one another’s company with great food that I didn’t have to try to cook!
Quiche was fantastic. The summer fizz cocktail is highly recommended for brunch.
Ordered drinks. I order basic gin and tonic with wedge of lime $12. Pretty simple, equal amounts of gin and tonic. I've had some of the best in the world and I can safely say that this was one of the worst. It was basically just tonic water. Can't mistake the brackish taste. Waitress told us that if we ordered chicken for two it would take 30 minutes. We wisely decided to order pork chops, and duck. It took one hour and twenty two minutes from arrival to get our food. The pork chop was roughly 1" thick and billed at 10 oz. I couldn't weigh it honestly, but 10 oz was a stretch, and it was much smaller than similar entrees in town. We set next to a party with a young woman who had the loudest most obnoxious voice I have been exposed to in recent history. Not the restuarant's fault, but just the topping on the cake. We had out of town guest and had selected Josephines based on our past history with them. We were pretty embarrassed and they are off our list of preferred restaurants
First time at Josephine and we were very happy with our experience. As it is located in the 12 South area, there are a lot of interesting people to see in addition to excellent places, like Josephine, to eat.
One comment at the beginning, the plates are smaller, European sized portions. My wife and I shared several dishes, but the smaller size limited sharing to some degree. We, however, really like to smaller portions which eliminate the food waste that goes on in the country.
We shared beef tongue as an appetizer, heirloom tomato bruschetta as a salad, mushroom fettuccine as a main course and the peach cobbler with ice cream as a dessert. The best of the main dishes was the fettuccine, with the beef tongue not to our liking. The most wonderful part was the peach cobbler. Made in house, flakey crust, warm peaches and scrumptious vanilla ice cream. It was one of the best desserts we have had in Nashville.
Very good place. And quite different from more typical Nashville fare.
Great food and service!
Loved the new menu! Wonderful experience.
Such good food every time!
Great food and service!
Ingrid offered great service! The food was amazing!
The food was top shelf! The service was friendly, attentive and timely.
The restaurant filled up and the noise level rose -- it was not overly intrusive to our conversation.
Great food and wine. Loved our seat at bar.
What a fantastic restaurant. It was our second time there and it was outstanding again. Bravo to chef Andy and his team.
The food was great but the service left a bit to be desired. Maybe the server was thrown off by what me and my wife were wearing...you see we were visiting from Texas and had been out and about that afternoon and did not want to drive back to the hotel and get fancied up then drive to the restaurant. I had read the atmosphere was fancy but not overkill. My wife was fine but I had on a NASCAR ball cap, Texas t-shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots. Not exactly fancy so maybe a little of the " these people shouldn't be eating here attitude..probably won't tip well." I know I used to wait tables in my youth but as I found out you don't judge a book by its cover. Besides the noticeable lack of attention the food was great so the chef gets the glowing review the service not so much. If me and my wife are ever in Nashville again we will be back..I will just maybe doll it ups bit before I go or maybe not. Maybe it was just that particular server. I would call her out but we never got her name.
