Another great meal enjoyed at Joseph Tambellini- an extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere with awesome food especially on a cold winter evening !
Best steak AND pasta I’ve ever had and I’ve tried almost every restaurant in the city.
Food was super over priced for what you got. My pasta was a strange texture and the sauce was bland. My son ordered the chicken parmesan and was also very disappointed. The ambiance is nice and the salad was good but the italian meals were not good and way too pricey
Our favorite Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. The chef and owners are present and welcoming. The food is magnificent. I recommend a higher quality selection of wine by the glass.
We are never disappointed here.Staff is very helpful , professional and a pleasure to deal with.Food always excellent with great special menu additions.
Joe Tambellini never disappoints! We enjoyed another exceptional meal at Tambellini’s- great food, great service
Food was excellent! Only complaint is for the up charges - they were excessive.
Wonderful food with excellent service.
Another great meal enjoyed at Joseph Tambellini's- great food, great service and lovely warm and welcoming ambiance! Our favorite go-to restaurant!
This is the third time we have visited Joseph Tambellini's restaurant in the past year and each time time was exceptional. The prices are a little steep, but the quality of the food and service makes up for it. A great place to visit for a special occasion or to take out-of-town guests. They will surely be impressed!
This amazing restaurant is hidden gem. The owners Melissa and Joe treat you like you are family from the time you walk in and are greeted to every little detail in the foods. We enjoy this restaurant no matter if it a special occasion or just a simple date night.
Great food, great service! We always enjoy dinner at Tambellinis! Highly recommend!
Wonderful service and meal From greeting to exit you are welcomed and taken care of without being overwhelmed
We dined here for NYE. They had a special menu for the evening. The chicken parm was delicious! The other person with me had the shrimp and lobster scampi, which also was delicious. I wish I had ordered it also it was so good. Theresa was an excellent server and was always on top of everything. Overall it was a great experience.
Adam is the best
Great zucchini app! Authentic Italian menu with great special features. Nice wine selection, but pricey. Very good cocktails. Service as very good. Atmosphere was wonderful !
Everything was fantastic.
Great Italian restaurant. Food and service is great.
Tambellini s is a wonderful
Place for traditional high end fare. Pork chop is outstanding. My friends and me make this a must at least once a year (& hope to make it more.
Outstanding service and atmosphere very pleasant.
Our go to place where we no we'll enjoy all aspects of a restaurant evening.
Great restaurant ! One of my favorites ! Great service, attention to details and terrific food options !
The eggplant parm is unique... and the ambience is always perfect.
Took my girlfriend there for her birthday. She loved it. I expected it to be pricey and it was but for a special occasion it would be hard to beat. Home made pasta, meatballs, filet, tiramisu were all delicious. Has a wonderful evening.
Restaurant is fabulous but in the winter don’t eat in the bar area. Opening & closing the entry doors leaves very cold air in that room. The blast of freezing air made it a little hard to enjoy the wonderful food. If not in that room , it would have been perfect.
Our food was lukewarm especially the soup. The waitress had to many tables to concentrate on us. Usually happy but not this time.
Fabulous food, as usual. You can’t go wrong at Joey’s!!! Always great service from Charlotte!
Very professional staff made the evening enjoyable.
We love it here! We love the owners. It’s a pleasure to dine here.
Thanks for another amazing meal. A must have when we make the trip in
Delicious meal, great service and a totally great dining experience. The entire staff is welcoming and attentive. Enjoyed our evening.
I’ll compare this to a Payless shoes commercial where people are willing to pay $$ for cheap shoes because their perceptions are skewed by presentation/tags/etc. The salad was my favorite part of the meal. The bread was served with an oil based goo that had chunks of ? garlic and a large amount of seasoning. It had a taste that can not easily be described. I love bread/carbs. It’s why I went to an Italian restaurant. Left it all. The breaded zucchini was fine, it’s no better than any I’ve had elsewhere. It’s no worse. The entrees we specifically ordered were a huge let down. The better of the two (ravioli) tasted like chef boyardee which is wonderful when I’m with my niece and nephew but not when I’m supposedly paying for quality. The other was a very very heavy pasta dish. Thick and dry pasta which supposedly has olive oil somewhere in there and chunks of artichoke with a slop of wet spinach. It sounds so good on the menu but was poorly done. I returned the dish in its entirety only to be told by my server the manager would still be charging it and sending me home with it. He himself did not come to the table until we insisted he do so. Any quality establishment walks around and communicates with their guests. The best part is the “manager” is the host and the same guy who takes your coat and he was just standing by the door the entire night within a few feet of my table. He was too lazy & unprofessional to address the issue. We asked if we could switch it out for a different one or another chef boyardee plate but were told they had “tossed out their water for the evening”. WHAT does that mean? Can’t you just pour some more and boil it???
We ordered desserts because even though we were upset we were out an entree. The tiramisu and creme brûlée were good. The tiramisu was better. The creme brûlée had such a thick top coating (which is probably the best part) but it made it chewy and got stuck in your teeth instead of cracking and melting nicely in your mouth.
Food is good but very very noisy. It is a very crowded limited space restaurant.
If you have anyone who is hard of hearing they will have a very difficult time enjoying this restaurant. I called ahead of time and asked for a quiet table however there is no quiet table on the first floor since it is so crowded. Also the restaurant staff and patrons are very unfriendly, (except for the man who seats you and hangs up your coat)
DH and I went with two other couples...all Foodies to this home, now turned into a restaurant ! I chose the restaurant, so pressure was on...
Being primarily an Italian restaurant, most ordered veal, and were not disappointed. The 3 of us that ordered Piccata thought it had too many capers, but that is an individual taste and easily remedied. DH had veal Romano, done to perfection and another had veal Marsala...lots of mushrooms in a sweet Marsala sauce, just as it should be. One ordered the Angel seafood and could not finish, as it was so plentiful. The sides of pasta were tasty.
The waitstaff was too quick to want to take our order, so we had her return. We did order the eggplant Parmigiana appetizer and the zucchini appetizer. I personally prefer the curly, thin zucchini as opposed to the wedges as they serve here. This particular server was a little too curt for me.
Chatted with chef Joseph on the way out. He was very personable.
We will return on a regular basis, hopefully.
All of our meals were excellent. The sesame calamari is excellent! We each had a different salad that were all tasty and the desserts were yummy too. Service was excellent.
Delicious salad and entrees.
Our waitress was very friendly, but missed a couple of steps: she didn't tell me what the price of the feature was that I ordered - and shame on me that I didn't ask - but it was $20 MORE than the veal I was going to order off the menu. It was enormous - I was actually embarrassed to have that much food in front of me. And it was just average.
My son ordered the pasta with salmon and crab. It was horrible! I couldn't tell if I was eating a piece of salmon or crab - it was mushy and gray in color. I was afraid he was going to get sick from eating it.
Very disappointed in our meals.
The ambiance is great - I wish we would have had a better experience.
Everything about the evening was wonderful. The food was delicious, well paced and staff attentive.
We love Joseph Tambellini’s! Always consistent with good food and nice atmosphere!
